'The bowman is the first one in and no one else has been here before,' Looking from Oleg to Mirana, 'No need for secrets, I just wanted to make sure,' Nodding when the man observes that Svetlana should be locked in the house for safety.

Clearing his throat, Kunala addresses Oleg. "I apologize for using Sylvan, but I wanted to verify something with my partners. Let me make a few observations. Unless they search, they shouldn't see us until it's too late. It's good he's the first one in, he will need to be the first one to die." Shrugging, 'Maybe the only one, hopefully seeing him go down will take the fight out of the others." He looks briefly at Iradiel. "but we will not want to spring the trap until they all are in the fort and the gate is closed."

Looking from Iradyiel to Oleg, "Svetlana locked in the house, we four hidden behind buildings. springing the trap taking down the bowman first." Pointing to the drawing on the table, "I see two options."

He looks to Caitir, "Having Oleg on the wall was an idea you mentioned. We will call that option one. It will give us a reason to have the gate closed and then only opened a few feet, shutting it quickly once they are in." Shrugging, "Since he talks to Oleg while the others load the goods it's likely the bowman will want to confront Oleg. He will assume that it is Oleg at the gate. When he realizes that the 'gate keeper' isn't Oleg we will have to spring our trap. At that point bringing down the bowman first, afterwards bringing the others to heel."

Looking from Caitir to Mirana "Option two, we let them ride in like normal. When the bowman starts to talk to Oleg and the others dismount to load the mule, we come out of hiding, One of us shuts the gate, While the others focus on bringing down the bowman. Then bring the others to heel."

Listening while Kunala makes observations, Iradyiel looks from the map to the others around the table. When Kunala is done talking Iradyiel draws out his Kunia, gesturing toward the map, "So, let me see if I understand."

Pointing toward the gate on the map. "If your assumptions are right, The first option places the mounted bowman, near whoever is on the ground and Oleg far from the action. Whoever is at the gate will be able to engage him from the ground. The rest of us can attack him with bows or try to work around the other thugs." He grimaces slightly, "We don't know if they will still be mounted or not. But once the leader goes down, if they refuse to surrender we can either shoot them from range or put them to the sword." Looking back up, "With option one, once Oleg is off the wall he will be out of danger."

Pointing toward the tables on the map. "With option two, assuming things go as before, once they enter the fort the cloaked bowman will speak with Oleg while the others load the mule. At some point, one of us will shut the gate signaling the others to attack the bowman." Looking up from the table to Oleg. "While he is near Oleg."

He looks from Oleg to Kunala. "Both plans have more assumptions than I like, but doesn't the second option put Oleg at greater risk?" He shrugs, "I didn't come here to put others at risk."

Mirana places a slim hand on Svetlana's shoulder. "I know, you want to help and stand alongside your husband, and I'm sure you can fight just as well as your husband, but we want both of you safe and out of harms way. We don't want the bandits talking any hostages, or you or Oleg fighting while worrying about the other ones wellbeing. I know its not easy what we are asking, but stay hidden, and let us handle your bandit problem for you."

Mirana attempts to ensure Svetlana feels a little more confident before nodding at Kunala "Option one is my preferred option, I don't want Oleg in danger and option two is just slightly too risky for my liking."

Nodding as Mirana comforts Sveltana, Kunala looks from the two woman, toward Caitir, "So we put Oleg on the wall before dawn. Iradyiel and I have matching cloaks, he can wear Iradiel's on the wall. I will wear the other, opening and shutting the gate." he points towards the barn doors and building corners on the map."The three of you can hide behind or in the buildings." Shrugging, "Their location may determine what type of attacks we use. I may cast sleep on the bowman, it would effect his horse as well." He looks from Caitir to Iradyiel, asking "Should we move the wagon to have a larger killing field, or should we leave to limit to encumber the riders?"

I guess the question would be if we want to "move the wagon" since it's part of the drawing :)

Sunday 14th Pharast, 4710 AR

Hearing Kunala’s apology Oleg nods; “I do understand, but don’t make my decisions for me. I will along with what plan you all think is best. I am not a child to be spoken about in secret.”

Svetlana places her hand on Mirana’s as she reassures her safety and Svetlana smiles; “Thank you.”

When the plan seems like it is being finalized, Oleg goes over it for clarity; “We want to start with the gate shut in the morning, and myself on the wall as they approach. When they get to the gate I will come down from the wall, and hide? Kunala will open the gate, and close it when they are all through? The other three of you will hide in the stables waiting to attack? Svetlana will be locked in our house?”

Thinking for a second; “What if they notice that it is not me who stands by the gate? Where shall I hide?”

The wagon in the image can be moved to where it is needed. To quote the Six Million Dollar Man “We have the technology”

"The Six million Dollar man"? Lee Majors as an astronaut, I always liked him better as a cowboy. I digress. Moving the wagon would be cool, just put it south of the barn.

Kunala nods to Oleg, "My apologies, Oleg, my intent was not to make decisions for you, it was to clarify my understanding of something that was discussed earlier." Looking towards the gate, then smiles,"It won't take them long to recognize it's not you by the gate. But I will have it shut before they can stop me. I will wait to open it long enough for you to slip inside the house with your wife." He looks towards the barn then the table area. "I don't know if it would be better to have everyone in the barn, or spread out. Someone in the barn. someone hear near the tables and maybe someone at the north end of the barn."

He looks to the others, "Rad, Ladies, what do you think?"

Covering his mouth so no one see's his reaction when Oleg comments about using another language, Iradiel nod,s waiting for Kunala to finish speaking. "For what it's worth Oleg I don't speak that language either." He starts to take off the green cloak. 'As for hiding, I aggree we should be spread out." Looking to Mirana and Caitir, "Ladies where do you want to be." He hands the cloak to Oleg, winking, "I'll get that back from you after this is done tomorrow morning."

Mirana thinks for a moment before shrugging her shoulders slightly. "I'd prefer to be in full view, maybe near the cart. I don't want to be too far away if combat breaks out and I'm pretty terrible at hiding. Realistically, I can probably get away with it slightly, I don't carry a sword or anything, just a staff, so I don't think they will see me as an immediate threat."

Caitir hides a smile at Mirana's admission at being terrible at hiding. Staying hidden was something Caitir herself was exceptionally skilled at, being one of the standard tricks of the trade she had picked up from a young age. "Yes, well, I'm the queen of hide and seek myself, so I'll probably hide myself somewhere with cover. I haven't decided where, perhaps near the pen or behind the building, but somewhere close to be sure"

Sunday 14th Pharast 4710AR

Oleg reaches out and takes the cloak from Iradyiel; “You will have it back, thank you…” looking at the four of you; “Thank all of you, we could never repay you but I am forever indebted to you four.” He drops his hand down to his side and Svetlana reaches out and takes it in her hand.

“If we are going to pull this off we should probably get some sleep…. If it will find us. Unless there is anything else I have a few things I need to tend to before shut eye.”

Oleg waits for a few moments giving everyone a chance to speak

Oleg nods and makes his way to finish up his daily activities. Picking up his supplies from the roof repair, brush down Claptrap, and even lock down the doors before heading off to his and Svetlana’s house.

As all of this is going on Svetlana leads the four of you to the guest house; “This is where you will be staying, for as long as you need. This is your new home and as long as you are with us you will stay and eat for free.” If anyone would try to protest she would quickly cut them off saying that this is how they can repay you. Pulling something free from a pocket, she hands each of you a key; “This key will unlock the chest at the end of your bed. It is the only key for those chest, please keep it somewhere safe.” She begins to head towards the door and turns; “If there is anything you might need please let us know, we will do what we can.”

After that she shuts the door and leaves the four of you to your evening.

I want to give you any opportunity to do whatever it is you might do before the night passes. I will post again later on today.

Also, I remade the Stolen Land Exploration Map. I felt like the other one was a bit more clunky. What do you think?

new map looks great

Nodding when Oleg thanks him, watching the couple. 'They do remind me of mom and dad.' Iradyiel follows Svetlana to the bunk house. 'New home, that's gracious. I do not want to offend her.' accepting the key, "Thank you, that is very generous." he moves to the chest just right of the door,, setting his pack on the chest, he sits down on the bunk, smiling, "This is much better than sleeping on the ground or in a hayloft."

DM SNK about what time in the evening is it? Wondering how many hours until dawn, apparently we need to be ready a couple hours before that :)

'in our debt?' Watching Oleg, embrace his wife's hand, Kunala smiles, "Yes, we should get what rest we can, we will see you a couple hours before dawn."

Following Svetlana Kunla accepts a key, moving toward the bed past Iradyiel. 'If we need anything else?' shaking his head "You've done more than enough. Thank you for sharing your home with us."

Shaking his head as Iradyiel bounces on the bed, Kunala waits until Svetlana leaves. "They have certainly taken us into their bosom, I still think it might be wise to keep our watch rotation." Opening the trunk he begins to neatly remove the items from his pack and place them in the chest. As he organizes, he asks "We had not specified where we may wait, any ideas."

Watching Kunala from the corner of his eye, Iradyiel eventually stops bouncing on the bed. Standing he lays his bow and sword under the bed, moving to the end of the bed as he talks. "Keeping watch is fine, I figured I would stand in the doorway of the barn, not immediatly visible, but close enough to use sword or bow." He then opens the trunk, after dropping his rucksack in he begins to take off the armor.

Map is really good, helps keep track of things.

Mirana files into the guesthouse along with everyone else, opening up her chest and examining it carefully before closing the lid and placing her staff against a wall.

"I'll, be outside the barn, with Claptrap, pretending like I'm loading or unloading the horse. Maybe I can pretend that I'm a trader or merchant and it gives me a reason to be hanging around the barn without needing to hide. I don't the bandits will think I pose much of a threat."

Mirana stretches for a moment before hanging up a blanket, dividing up the room. "I'll be ready for bed in a moment, I just feel like cleaning the travel grime away." she remarks by way of an explanation, using her Create Water cantrip before getting into bed. She looks at Caitir enquiringly who screws up her face in response.

Female Human Unchained Rogue (Sylvan Trickster) | HP: 9/9 | AC: 15, 12, 13 | CMB: -1, CMD: 11 | F: +1, R: +4, W: +2 | Init: +2 | Perc: +4 |

"I wouldn't worry, even I don't see you as a threatening figure" Caitir remarks loftily, ignoring the daggered look at that Mirana threw her. "As for me, I'll probably be inside the barn unless anyone has a better suggestion. I can hide better than most so I doubt I'll be detected until its too late."

Caitir unpacks some of her heavier belongings, not keen to lug them around for much longer, then sits cross-legged on the bed.

'visible outside' Looking from Mirana to Caitir, 'Not a threatening figure, yeah, that would be a mistake. And Caitir and Rad will be in the barn.' Smiling slightly at the idea of Mirana being mistaken as someone not threatening. Kunala nods, "It's a plan then, Mirana outside the barn with Claptrap." He strugs lightly, "They may mistake you for Svetlana." Gesturing toward Caitir and Iradyiel, "And you two will be in the barn. I assume ready to use bow or blade depending on how near the archer is or the other riders."

He smiles as Mirana puts up the blanket, "Have a good night ladies, Mirana, are you taking the first watch or do you want me to?"

Taking his armor off as the conversation continues, Iradyiel then takes off the doeskin jacket and kicks off his boots, flopping on the bed. When Kunala finishes talking about the plans for the morning, he responds. "I reckon."

He closes his eyes and begins to relax, "Well, whoever takes it wake me up when your done."He then tries to go to sleep.

Sunday 14th Pharast 4710AR

By the time you arrived at Oleg’s it was around dinner time 5ish. After eating, learning about the extent of the Leveton’s situation, and having a thorough tour of the trading post you are closer to 8 by the time you are all in the guest house.

Though it is early, you all understand that there is urgency to get sleep before the coming dawn. From your understanding Oleg and Svetlana believe that the bandits will be coming one hour before the sunrise to collect their taxes, and they are worried because they have less to offer up as taxes than last month, and that was even less than the month before.

Sleep does find you, and the dream you are in is a welcoming one. Whither it is of your in a royal court, in the forest on a hunt, infiltrating a base, or maybe lying with a lover, each dream is pulled away from you with a knocking at the door. The door slowly opens, but only a crack when you hear Oleg’s gruff voice speak up; “It is almost time, they should be here within the hour. Svetlana has made some bread, come and eat… if you are able.” With a click, the door shuts…

Oleg’s Trading Post

If you could check the map, is this where your characters would be standing after Oleg and Svetlana make their way into the house and after the gate is opened allowing the bandits to come in?

Yup, looks good to me GM

Caitir is more or less first up at the interruption. Coming from a significantly poorer background she never passed up the opportunity for food, never having taken breakfast for granted.

She touches Mirana on the shoulder, rousing the woman. "I'll bring you something to eat while you work on your weird First World meditation thing" she promises, heading out the door.

Before Rest

Mirana considers the remark for a moment."You raise a good point, but I'm a little younger than Svetlana which stands in my favor. At any rate, its not the end of the world if they mistake me for someone else so long as its someone they don't see as threatening. At any rate, I'll take first watch tonight I think."

Post Rest

Mirana wakes with a start, before realizing that it was Caitir's hand on her shoulder. She grumbles a little, tempted to rest a little further before straightening and sits cross-legged on the bed again. She closes her eyes for her one hour meditation in order to prepare her spells..

map looks great.

last night.
'Yes she is younger, and no one who looked in her eyes would mistake her for the frightened Svetlana even if they looked identical.' Realizing with the blanket up Mirana couldn't see him shake his head nor fortunately his smile. "Good, I'll try and get some rest then." Like his brother he takes off his cloak and jacket, but neatly folds them, placing then on the trunk. Setting his boots near the end of the bed, he hangs his sword belt on the bed post, positioning the sword handle near his hand. Laying down he quickly falls asleep.

in the morning
Still awake from his watch, Kunala, on the wall near the ladder sees Oleg going to the 'bunk house' to wake the others. Scanning the horizon one more time, he climbs down going straight to the table taking a seat. Filling his plate as he grabs a piece of bread, winking at Svetlana. "Rad can't steal my food if I've gotten it eaten before he gets out here."

Hearing the knock on the door, Iradyiel bolts awake, quickly looking around the room. Seeing the hanging blanket, and Kunala's empty neatly made bed and hearing Caitir talking, he exhales and releases the handle of his Kunai. Swinging out of the bed, he pulls on his boots and heads towards the door trying not to stumble. Once outside seeing Oleg, Svetlana and Kunala near the table, he finds a bucket of water, splashing some on his face. Walking over to the table, glaring at Kunala with his half-eaten piece of bread and a chesire grin, he shakes his head taking a seat. "I hate morning people."

Moonday 15th Pharast 4710AR

Other than the morning wake up call, Oleg and Svetlana leave those in the guest house alone. Having travelers here from time to time they understand some peoples need to wake up slowly. Those who gather out to eat are greeted by the darkness before the dawn. There is no fire going where the cookpot was the evening before, but there are two lanterns lit on each of the tables. The lanterns do not illuminate the entire yard but it is enough to see the tired face of Svetlana as she is cutting the bread in slices.

“I hope you like nuts, I added them into this sweet bread. I like the crunch they give.” she says with a smile as she takes a bite. She hands each of you a slice as you arrive. “I hope you slept well, I feel like I was tossing and turning all night.” she continues to eat her bread.

Oleg takes a drink from a mug; “Today is the day… One way or another we are going to be done with these bandits.” The way he says it leaves you knowing that either the bandits or Oleg himself will not be breathing after today. The rest of this time of eating is done in silence by Oleg and Svetlana who are clearly deep in thought.

Standing up; “I guess I should go keep lookout on the wall. We would not want them to sneak up on us. Kunala, let me show you how the draw bar works.” Oleg shows Kunala the trimmed down tree trunk that is now the draw bar. “It takes a little bit of working, but it can slide fully into the wall if you want to open both gates, or partly if you want to open just one.” Oleg shows you how to operate it and give you a chance to do it. As Oleg said, it does take a little bit of working with it, but you are able to work the gate.

Oleg walks back to his wife and gives her a kiss before going up on the wall.

Updated Oleg’s Map

After thirty minutes or so Oleg waves down at Kunala, gesturing to him that someone is approaching. As they approach, you hear the sound of hooves on the hard-packed road leading up to the trading post “Oleg, you ole man. Best you come down from there and open the gate. We’d hate to see you fall and break your neck…” you hear the laughter of men that are on the other side.

Oleg does not respond other than moving to the ladder to climb down. As he passes Kunala “There are five of them. The main archer and four of his goons.” Oleg makes his way to his house.

Kunala draws the bar back enough to only open one of the two doors, while keeping himself partly hidden behind the door.

They begin to ride in, not really paying any attention to the person who opened the door. As they see the young girl tending to the horse the man leading the troop in gives Mirana a smile and a slight nod of his head as he says; “mornin”

The man speaking dismounts and stands next to the table, talking back to Kunala; “Oleg where is that wife of yours? Lana’s breakfast is something I could live with till I die. I see you have a visitor. I think me and the boys might have something to eat with a few hours of shut eye then be on our way.”

At those words the men with him begin dismounting and begin tending to their horses.

What do you all do? You currently have the advantage on them.

earlier
Tasting the bread, 'The bread is sweet.' Nodding to Svetlana, "They do have a nice crunch." He takes another bite, 'I wonder if the nuts were grown nearby, how much of what they use is imprt...' His mind wandering he refocuses when she asks how he slept. Swallowing the bite, "I slept well, thank you. That's one of the benefits of walking all day, once you settle down it's easy to sleep."

Scooting over a bit so Iradyiel could sit, he points at the bread, "You'll like the sweet bread, it has nuts."

'Yes, one way or another, at least with the ones that show up.' Nodding, as Oleg break the silence. "At least with the ones that are here today. Once this is over we will need to find their hideout, and then we can finish it permanently." He takes another bite of the bread, his mind wandering, thinking about what other items could be grown in the fields they passed to arrive here.

As Oleg stands Kunala nods, standing, picking up the last of his bread, he winks at Iradiel. "Didn't forget this time, did I?" Following Oleg as he finishes the bread, he calls up dancing lights to shine on the gate so he can see the works clearly, noting how the bar works, "Good, I think I got it."

Studying the gate a little more as Oleg goes to speak to his wife, Kunala waits for him near the ladder. He moves the dancing lights so Oleg can see the ladder clearly, then before Oleg can climb the ladder, Kunala tells him. "As soon as you get back down here, get in the house and lock the door, If it goes bad out here, we will at least weaken them so you can finish them off."

Later
Five of them, odds are in their favor, but we have the element of surprise.' Moving to where he can see Iradiel, Kunala points toward his brother, using message "I will try and use sleep on the leader, when I cast come out."

While Oleg comes down the ladder Kunala hooks his shield onto his left hand. He nods as Oleg passes, waiting until he is in the house. Making sure his hood is covering his face, Kunala opens the door, wide enough for the horses to pass through one at a time. As soon as they are in, he starts to shut the gate, pulling the draw bar closed.

Turning in time to see the leader dismount and begins talking, 'Further away than I had hoped, and two horses blocking a clean shot from Rad.' Kunala, cocks his head inside the hood, as the man continues talking, 'Need to see if we can end this quickly.' Raising his hand, he whispers. "sleep"

Surprise round, casts Sleep on leader: will save 13

earlier
Sitting down beside his brother, Iradyiel nods to Svetlana, "He's right I do like nuts, and raisins, but I really like nuts." Biting into the bread, chewing while he talks, "this is really good."

Nodding when Oleg declares he will be done with the bandits, he looks at Kunala, shaking his head, "Brother, you talk to much. Lets just worry about today, yeah?'

Chewing the bread, his eyes, close slightly as he smiles. he asks to no one imparticular, "Is there honey in this bread? It tastes like honey, does anyone else taste the honey." His eyes open slightly when Kunala stands taking his bread with him. He smiles, reaching for another piece of bread. "Jokes on him, there's still more bread."

Once he's done eating, Iradyiel returns to the bunk house putting on his armor and weapons. He returns to the table, standing near Svetlana. He lays his shield and axe on the table, turning to her. "Take these in the house and give them to Oleg, he may not be a warrior but I know he will defend his house if it comes to it." He winks, "But I don't plan on that, I figure once we drop the leader the rest will give up quick."

later
By the time the bandits arrive, Iradyiel has strung his bow, finding a spot inside the barn to his liking, he leans his bow and falchion against the wall. Hearing Kunala's message, Iradyiel gets ready. As Oleg climbs down and moves to the house, he turns and nods to Caitir, grasping the falchion. "Looks like it's that time."

Noting the proximity of the bandits, when he hears Kunala whisper his spell, Iradyiel steps out of the barn, telling them, "Lay down your arms and you may yet live."

Updated Map

As Kunala cast the spell, Iradyiel steps out from the stables gaining the attention of the bandits. The man who was talking turns to see who is making this threat "Who the hell..." he cuts off as he falls to the ground hitting the table on the way down.

The rest of the men are confused at what is going on as this elven man steps out of the stable and then one of their own drops unconscious with no one standing around them.

He failed his save, Mirana and Caitir are up in this "surprise round." But you can make full actions.

Ok, let me preface this by saying I don't play a lot of casters, so not sure how all this works. the sleep spell had a 10 ft. radius, and effects up to 4 hd of creatures. Do we need to worry about either of the horses saving or not? area of effect

You are correct. I was thinking you were casting it to only target the man. That is a bad assumption on my end.I will roll the horses will save. Moving forward, any area of effect spells I will try to be as specific as I can where it is located, if you could do the same that would be great.

The horse also failed its will save. Thankfully the horse can sleep standing up.

again, the question was only because of my unfamiliarity...

Something we could also consider doing is having the map editable or in Google Slides / Presentation. Its still the same map / grid image, but it lets us draw circles onto the image (for AOE spells) and move our characters around. I don't know how much extra work it is though but it might help prevent miscommunication or make it more clear on who we are attacking / targeting in future. Its just an idea.

"Hmm, that was smooth" Mirana reflects as the bandits play it surprisingly cool. She reasons though that its potentially because the bandits saw her as a visitor and are therefore worried about witnesses. They were certainly exercising a little more caution than Mirana had predicted they would.

Mirana draws her Quarterstaff and quickly observes the battlefield. With the leader down and asleep, she wondered if the bandits would surrender or fight on. She didn't want to give up a tactical advantage so she tries to predict which way the wind is blowing, before signalling Caitir.

Sense Motive (will they surrender): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

5 foot step upwards one square towards Iradyiel with Quarterstaff drawn. I think its a standard action to Sense Motive but if not, I'll also cast Shillelagh. I'm mostly trying to access whether they will surrender (in which case we probably don't want to be immediately murdering a ton of them and there isn't much need for further aggression) or if they will stand firm (in which case Caitir can go aggressive and start killing people). I don't mind either way but I didn't want to undermine Iradyiel's surrender request by immediately killing someone right after he said it.

Realized I probably should have rolled Stealth for inside the barn before hand even though its not that relevant due to map positioning.

Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Caitir strides out of the barn, trying to stay unnoticed as much as possible for practice sake. She glances at Mirana after hearing Iradyiel's order. Caitir itched to stick her blade into somewhere painful and she certainly didn't like giving up the element of surprise. She glances at Mirana to see if anyone feels like surrendering but if not, she immediately lashes out at the bandit 3 paces to the right of Iradyiel, hoping that a quick strike might add more force behind his words.

Attack vs Flat Footed target: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Sneak Attack?: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Yep Caitir is a cohort not really built for combat :(

Mirana Alvina wrote:

Sadly, if I had known it was a full round and not a surprise round, Iradyiel would have attacked the nearest one while he told the others to surrender...

Unless they surrender before the next round, if we win unitive, both Iradyiel and Kunala will attack

Iradyiel, If you would like to make an attack I will allow you to do so. That was a miscommunication on my end. I will wait to make a post for a little bit.

thank you

Having stepped out of the barn, near one of the bandits. Taking no chances, Iradyeil Slashes at the man with his Falchion. "I said lay down your arms!"

attack: Falchion, PA
attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 - 1 = 12 for damage: 2d4 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 + 3 = 11

Sense Motive and Knowledge Checks are things I believe just kind of happen, like a free action. Mirana is able to cast Shillelagh on her turn.

Updated Map

Springing to action Iradyiel calls out for the bandits to surrender and they might live, with almost an explanation point of an action Iradyiel swings with great strength his Falchion and strikes the bandit. The man in the confusion of everything going on around him is split open from his side through his chest. In an instant of grabbing ahold of the blade, it slips from his hands as quickly as life is leaving his eyes. The bandit falls to the ground.

Stealthily, Caitir slips past the mess at Iradyiel’s feet and makes her way around the front horse. Using her rapier she is able to find the fleshy part of the man’s abdomen. Surprise and fear enters his eyes.

The bandits wrap their minds around what is happening and spring into action. The last mounted man dismounts and as he takes a step towards Mirana he draws his short sword and attacks out at her. His strike lands for a vicious amount of damage, satisfaction and joy crosses the mans face as he sees blood beginning to flow from the woman that was part of this trap. Mirana takes 7 damage.

The man that was closest to the gate rushes up to their leader after seeing him fall, shaking him to see if he is ok. You start to see the fallen man stir.

The man with the rapier in his gut begins to cough and spittle of blood comes from his mouth, seeing his blood fall upon Caitir he mouths the word No! He takes no action holding the rapier blade and his stomach, not wanting any more damage to happen.

You are all up
This part falls under my miscommunication, it was a surprise first round for you all. Effectively you all acted first in the initiative order and they act second. They were also caught completely by surprise.

DMs Stuff:

Attack vs Mirana: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
DMG vs Mirana: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

ok, I think I understand, the first actions were a full round, instead of a surprise round then a first round. Since Kunala only took one action (casting the spell) which is dictated by the limitations of 'a surprise round' do you mind if he takes a second action in the first round? In a full round He would also have draw a weapon. This is only relevant because he cannot draw a weapon while moving yet.

Yes, Kulana could have drawn his weapon.

'Fools!' Pulling his Falchion free from the dying man, 'Good, Caitir has pinned her man.' Noting Caitir's success, Iradyial, watches as the bandit moves to waken their leader. "We need to stop him!" Trying to get to the leader before the bandit does, he sprints around Caitir and the man she has run through. Looping around the sleeping horse, he Lifts his falchion and chops at the prone bowman.

Drawing his sword, Kunala watches as the bandit on the left dismounts and then attacks Mirana while the bandit nearest him runs to wake the leader. 'Do I rescue... no she can handle herself, we need to stick to the plan.' Reluctantly turning from his bleeding comrade on the left, Kunala charges after the bandit waking the leader. "You should have surrendered." He slashes at the mans back with his dueling sword.

again thank you for letting him draw the sword during the first round. rd 2: AC 17 (charge) move action 20 ft. attack: charge, PA

I didnt get the result of my SM check :( That said, seeing as none of them dropped their weapons, I think I can still assume that they are not surrendering ^_^.

Mirana winces as the blade strikes close before her eyes narrow. Swinging her quarterstaff with a vengeance she lashes out, aiming for the head, trying to catch the man unguarded.

Remembering what was said to Svetlana, Caitir doesn't have too much sympathy for the bandit at the edge of her rapier. She twists it slowly before hearing Mirana cry out. Grumbling a little to herself she yanks the blade free, leaving the bandit to stem the bloodflow himself, before turning and sprinting for the foe attacking Mirana, lashing out on the fly as she does so.

Iradyiel rushes around the market yard and swings down his Falchion with two hands. The bowman on the ground looks up in time to raise a hand. With a sickly crunch and a thunk, the Falchion slices through the man’s hand and wrist and finds a home in his chest. The weight of Iradyiel pushing down the blade causes the man to fall lifeless to the ground.

Kunala runs through the horses to attack out at the man that was waking up the leader. The bard’s dueling sword strikes true in the back of the bandit.

Hearing Caitir’s cry, Mirana leaves her battle to aid her friend. They both attack out at the bandit that attacked Caitir, but fail to land the blow.

With the bustling of action that takes place the horses are kicked up into a panic and begin rushing around this enclosed market yard.

Reflex Saves:

Kunala: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Iradyiel: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Mirana: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Caitir: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Bandit 1: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Bandit 2: 1d20 ⇒ 3

The horses rushing around ram into those in the yard. Iradyiel is knocked prone as one of horse rush into him. The man that Mirana left behind is easily knocked over by a horse and then is trampled as the horses run around in this yard.

Being stabbed in the back, the bandit turns his attention on Kunala but misses his attack. With his wild swing the man collapse on the ground.

Dodging the attacks of Mirana and Caitir, the bandit continues to attack out at Caitir striking her again. His satisfaction is clearly written across his face. Caitir takes 2 damage

I deleted Iradyiels first post, I hadn't noticed that the bandit fell unconcious

'He's not going to waken from that.' Watching the bowmans hand fly off, Iradyiel is distracted as the horse beside him bolts, knocking him to the ground. Hanging on to the sword, he sees the bandit Kunala struck, turn, swing and fall. Watching as Kunala pivots to go help the girls. Staggering to this feet he steps over the bandit, checking to see if the man is alive.

Turning his shoulder as the bandit colapses, Kunala sees Iradyiel kill the leader, then get body checked by the horse. Avoiding the horse behind him, Kunala hustles over to help the ladies. "There is one unconscious, so no reason to keep this one alive." As he slashes at the bandits exposed right shoulder.

Err, who is taking damage because in one post its Mirana taking damage and Caitir taking none, (and then Caitir leaving to help Mirana) and then in the next post its Caitir being attacked twice and taking damage. I am very confused right now.

Moonday 15th Pharast 4710AR

The sound of horses running around, knocking over the tables and cook pot causes Oleg to come out from the house. He emerged with Iradyiel's shield and axe. As soon as he sees the horses running loose he drops the shield and axe and begins trying to herd the horses one by one.

Iradyiel gets up, still dodging the horses that are running loose in this market place, and makes his way to examine the just fallen man. You can see the blood pooling under him as he continues to bleed out, but you also see that his chest rises and falls as he breaths.

As Kunala approaches the unaware bandit, he sees a prime opening to cause the bandit to at least drop his weapon from the blow. The dueling sword lands and finds a weak spot in the bandits leather armor. The blow causes the bandit to drop his weapon as he falls to the ground.

Pausing for just a moment, none of the bandits are moving to get up.

Suddenly you hear a scream from the direction of the Leveton's house. Looking over you see Svetlana standing taking in this gruesome sight. Becoming overwhelmed by what she sees she stumbles back against the house and slumps to the ground. Oleg leaves the horses and joins Svetlana.

We are effectively out of rounds, what do you do?

That is a mistake on my end. The bandit originally attacked Mirana, and continued to do so. Mirana is the one who took the 7 & 2 damage. The map shows what happened.

Seeing the man fall, Kunala hears the sound of combat end. Releasing a breath he didn't realize he had been holding. Realizing his sword has blood on it, he whispers clean" using prestidigitation he watches the blood flow off the blade dripping on the bandit.

His eyes wide, he looks around the compound, his eyes settling on his friends. Shocked to see Mirana was bleeding, he steps over the fallen bandit, his eyes widden as he looks at her wound. Some where in the background he hears a woman screaming. As the adrenelin leaves his body he shakes a little, getting control, he asks, "Mirana, you wounded, I have a little healing power, do you mind if I... He places his hand over hers where she is gripping the staff, and whispers, "Cure"

casting CLW for Mirana
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

'Blasted bandits.' Laying his blade, Iradyiel tosses the bandits shortsword out of reach, he rolls the man over ripping the shirt open looking at the wound. 'Good Oleg will get the horses under control. Seeing Oleg calm the horses He trurns back to the bandit grimacing. He tears a strip of cloth off of the mans shirt, stuffing into the wound to stop the bleeding. Then he tears another strip. mumbling to himself, "it's like damming a river with toothpicks."

'What the???' hearing Svetlana scream he looks up at the horified woman, seeing her stumble into the house, Oleg following. 'I need more bandages.' Tearing more strips of cloth from the shirt, Iradiel calls out, "Oleg, Svetlana, someone, bring me rags, were going to need to question this bandit, to do that he needs to be alive."

stabalize the bandit, now that were out of combat can he take 10 (15) on the heal check?

Oleg's eyes dart between Svetlana and Iradyiel. He kisses Svetlana on the forehead as he rushes off. Moment's later he comes back with a fist full of rags. "His answers better be worth the extra breath he will gain from this." placing them beside Iradyiel, Oleg rushes back to Svetlana offering her water from his waterskin.

With the rags Oleg provided, and the knowledge of healing, you are able to stop the blood flow from this bandit. Even though there was a lot of blood loss, you believe that he will be able to recover overtime.

Out of combat I am totally cool with taking 10 on heal checks.

Be worth the extra breath.' Iradyiel looks to Oleg, Seeing the rags, he unfurls his brow, nodding. "Let's hope so." Using some the rags to staunch the bleeding, he uses the longer ones to wrap around the mans torso. Once the bandages are secure, he asks Oleg. "Would you help me put him on the table?"

Once the man is on the table out of the way, Iradiel will help the others police the area: strip the bodies and drag them outside of the fence. Unsaddle the horses and put them in the barn. Organize the gear on the other table so to evaluate it.

DM SNK, obviously there will have to be time to organize the compound, do we want to RP all of it? Or fast forward a little after everyone posts?
