Thanks bro, good to see you around too! Had to scratch that itch! Lol

Good luck to everyone and especially to Lucendar. I hope you find a team that gives you a great game and a lot of fun!

I did finally manage to change my avatar . The skin colour isn't perfect, but otherwise it fits pretty well.

Class: Crimson Templar prestige class (Fighter 1/Rogue 1 for now)
Concept:
Dragorath is a reckless soldier whose family has made life in the crusades for generations. Born in strange circumstances, he and his twin sister are children of two women, Ragathiel has blessed his life since inception.

Too bold to focus on the divine, he has followed the path of soldiers, mixing the discipline of the crusaders with the improvising combat abilities of those used to fight the always surprising mischievous demons and survive at all costs.

Dragorath will add combat capability to the group as well as social skills. He can become a great marshal in the long run. Additionally he can add some healing capability to the group through his Healing Hands. As for conception he is a strong armored defender and works great as a buddy for flanking or intimidate enemies, but he can be refocused to a stronger damage dealing or healing profile as required by the party composition.

Background:

Back on the old days of the Worldwound Crusade Dragorath's family distinguished by their devotion to the cause and their display in battle. His parents met during one of the campaigns in the broken land. They were two women of solid principles who got deeply in love with each other.

Unable to have children of their own, they praised the gods for their love and devotion to the Crusade. From all the powers in the Great Beyond, there was one, Ragathiel, that answered the women’s love and devotion, granting angelic ascension to their souls and blessing them with their desired pregnancy. From one of them, Dragorath was born, while from his other mother, a female aasimar was born at the very same day as Dragorath.

Dragorath raised on the Crusade among swords, armor and the continuous fight against the demons. The strong connection to the divinity was clear both for him and his sister. They both were soon assigned positions at temples, but where his sister showed the patience to unveil the higher mysteries of religion, Dragorath was always pushing to face the demons with rightful might, applying to positions at advanced healing camps and investing his time training with crusaders of all nations.

When it reached the rumor that a special group of crusaders was forming up. Dragorath did not lose time to enroll in its ranks. His angelic blood soon impressed the recruiters that decided to add him to the group required for this new special mission.

Note about family and their names: I have not specified any names here as I would like for them to be actual NPCs from the campaign. On that sense, I have neither established Dragorath's parents racial ascension, so the GM is more free to find proper NPCs to act as his parents. His family could be for example Kellid’s fighting to recover the lost city of Sarkoris.

Appearance & Personality:

Dragorath has an unnaturally black hair, but those who has seen it fight in battle say they can shine with the burning flames of his patron and protector, Ragathiel. Some say his black deep and rigorous eyes shine with blue light in the midst of darkness. His face sports the scars of a soldier that is not new to the crusade. Clad on his armor and large shield, Dragorath’s sword is a sight that inspires greatness in battle where he is driven by Ragathiel’s code.
Dragorath image

On times of need people often have looked to Dragorath for guide on how to proceed. The Angelkin does not reuse the responsibility of taking decision, and he stoically accepts when things go wrong and people look at him as the responsible. Still, destiny has protected him so far, and people says he is enlightened by a star, but Dragorath knows better, it is Ragathiel who guards him.

Traits
Child of the Crusades (campaign): Your parents were members of the crusade, as were their parents before them. (If you are an elf, gnome, or other long-lived race, these could be brothers or cousins instead, since it’s possible that the Worldwound simply didn’t exist at a time before you were born.) The righteousness of the crusades sometimes feels as if it runs in your very blood, and it bolsters you against demonic inf luence. Your parents may be alive still, or they may have perished on a mission—that choice is up to you. You grew up knowing them, though, and their zeal and devotion to the crusade is the primary reason you feel the same way. They’ve told you of other family members who have also been involved in the crusade, and it’s not uncommon for you to meet a distant cousin or long-lost aunt, uncle, or other family member while traveling among the border towns of Mendev. This strong family tie bolsters your mind and sense of belonging to the crusade. Once per day when you fail a saving throw against an effect created by a demon that would possess or incapacitate you mentally, you may immediately reroll that saving throw as a free action. You must take the second result, even if it is worse. Associated Mythic Path: Marshal. Multiple Characters: If other characters take this trait, you should all be related—you can be siblings, cousins, or even more distant relations, but you should all be aware of this shared lineage.
Caretaker (faith): As the child of an herbalist or an assistant in a temple infirmary, you often had to assist in tending to the sick and wounded. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Heal checks, and Heal is always a class skill for you.

SPECIAL ABILITIES AND RACIAL TRAITS
Ability score +2 Str and +2 Cha
Native Outsider: Aasimars are outsiders with the native subtype.
Medium: Aasimars are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Normal Speed: Aasimars have a base speed of 30 feet.
Darkvision: Aasimars can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
Skilled: Angelkin Aasimars have a +2 racial bonus on Heal and K. planes checks.
Spell-Like Ability: Angelkin Aasimars can use alter self once per day as a spell-like ability (with a caster level equal to the aasimar’s character level).
Celestial Resistance: Aasimars have acid resistance 5, cold resistance 5, and electricity resistance 5.
Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A fighter is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy, light, and medium) and shields (including tower shields). Rogues are proficient with the hand crossbow.
Finesse Training (Ex): At 1st level, a rogue gains Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat. In addition, starting at 3rd level, she can select any one type of weapon that can be used with Weapon Finesse (such as rapiers or daggers). Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed. Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with the selected weapon, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll. If any effect would prevent the rogue from adding her Strength modifier to the damage roll, she does not add her Dexterity modifier.
Sneak Attack (Ex): (1d6) If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
The rogue's attack deals extra damage anytime her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target. This extra damage is 1d6 at 1st level, and increases by 1d6 every 2 rogue levels thereafter. Ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet. This additional damage is precision damage and is not multiplied on a critical hit. With a weapon that deals nonlethal damage (such as a sap, unarmed strike, or whip), a rogue can make a sneak attack that deals nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. She cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a sneak attack—not even with the usual –4 penalty. The rogue must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot. A rogue cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with total concealment.
Frightening (Ex): Whenever a thug successfully uses Intimidate to demoralize a creature, the duration of the shaken condition is increased by 1 round. In addition, if the target is shaken for 4 or more rounds, the thug can instead decide to make the target frightened for 1 round. This ability replaces trapfinding.
Brutal Beating (Ex): At 3rd level, whenever a thug deals sneak attack damage, she can choose to forgo 1d6 points of sneak attack damage to make the target sickened for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 her rogue level. This ability does not stack with itself—only the most recent duration applies. This ability replaces trap sense.

(Chaotic) Good luck to everyone! I hope you find a good group with a fun mix of personalities and abilities, Lucendar!

Hey Lucendar, I've got caught up in some other stuff. I don't have Kunala's back story done and won't be able to make the deadline. Sadly I must pull my application. Thanks for running the game, good luck to all.

Now that avatars are back up, I’ll probably be changing Lysander’s appearance.

Ok, deadline is tomorrow at 6:00 pm EST. I've been going through so many permutations of character choices in my head. Oh boy!

Emerald Duke, appreciate the update of applications!

Digger, do I have to ask permission to view the link?

It should be open!

There are surprisingly few Aasimar images. I think I'll just stick with what I've got. It works.

I've been unable to find an image of Saquiel that I like (not the avatar image, that one is fine for now, but a larger image). Most of the male aasimar in my Google image searches so far look too muscular or armored, or don't have enough red in their color scheme. Generic human magus or "sword wizard" images might work, since he doesn't yet have wings. I rather like this image but with a sensible rapier and less armor.

I actually did work up an image in Hero Machine for the previous game he was in (ended very early) but that looks so amateur compared to what real artists can do. Will keep looking if selected.

As I noted in the profile, Saquiel stands 6' tall and is fairly slim, at 150 lbs. His complexion is Taldan, though his shimmering red hair and his violet eyes give away his celestial heritage. He wears comfortable clothes with a red cloak and often has a notebook in hand.

OK, Barius is complete. I did a few tweaks to his skills and kitted him out. I even found a profile pic that kinda is symbolic of where I am going with him, albeit you would have to overlook the fact that it is a halfling.

@GM:

So I had a rules question for you, assuming I get in. If you look at the equipment rules listed here for Fortune Teller decks, it says that masterwork quality versions give a +2 circumstance bonus to Profession: Fortune Telling. The cost of these is 50 GP. I have to have a Harrow deck (rules listed here) for my class abilities. This thing costs 100 GP (double the "fortune telling" cards price). Would you say that having a full on harrow deck would convey the benefits of the MWK fortune teller cards? It is ok if not, just curious.

Good luck all!

Yeah I just noticed that the avatar system is working again so I'll be able to make something for my character.

Background:
Yala is born of "The People", one with "The People", but something of an oddity for her kind. Since we was born she had a different aura about her. Her mother and father, normal Kellids knew nothing of this but the town seer knew something was special about this girl. She grew fast and strong, stronger than many of the men. She was tough and fairly attractive. Overall, a superior specimen of her people. Some thought she was special and blessed, others thought she was cursed. Whatever the case was, they all accepted her for what she could do, for her bravery, strength and honor.

Growing up in the Worldwound was not an easy life, but this was her homeland, the homeland of her people so she had no interest of leaving it. When she was still a child her parents died in an attack from the Hunger that Moves. The thing almost killed her too, but with her parents sacrifice and a bit of luck, she survived. She spent years cursing the demons that unleashed such horrors on her home. That was until she was old enough to leave her town and join up with the Crusade.

She trained with a group of crusaders who valued her strength and fortitude teaching her the ways of a proper soldier, even if she didn't always pay attention to their lectures. In the end Yala found herself in Kenabres and that is when everything changed.

Appearance:
Yala is tall, close to 6 feet. She is sturdy, but athletic. Her hair is is jet black, except for the streaks of white and blue that she has had all her life. She has numerous tattoos and piercings. Aside from her hair the strangest feature of the woman is her complete heterochromia. Her left eye is an icy blue while her right is a vibrant violet.

Lysander the Swordsman wrote:
This is Ouachitonian's submission. Lysander is a Magus (Bladebound/Kensai), born to Riftwardens. I'm using an alias I've had for a while, and his appearance is largely based on my inability to change the picture right now. That was a little bit limiting, but I think I did a fair job of working it in. Sometimes aasimar are born to non-humans, after all, and his elven parents were both surprised and delighted to be the parents of a musetouched child (and Azata themselves often have elven features, right?). Its too bad he was orphaned a few weeks later. At any rate, he's a Magus. He does magus things. I'll be using something of a non-traditional build, the normal "Shocking Grasp Magical Lineage" magus is awkward in an AP full of demons, what with their electricity immunity. Oh, and I took the Exalted Resistance alternate trait. Spell Resistance is usually a double-edged sword for PCs, but since the aasimar version only applies to spells with the Evil descriptor or spells cast by Evil Outsiders, I figured it was safer. And potentially pretty helpful, given the AP. He's very DEX-focused, even more than INT, which will make damage lower than I'd really like until I can get DEX to damage, but I'll deal with it. Skill points aren't as high as I'd like, but they're high enough to cover the things a Magus should know.

Just realized I got carried away talking about the day character and forgot my time zone. US CST.

And I'm in CET (GMT+1).

I think I put down my time zone: I live in EST.

EST as well.

Recruitment closed. Thank you for all the work (um...I mean applications) you've given me. Will think about it some more and come back with selections later tonight.

Cool. Take your time and thank you for this opportunity!

Ok, I am back with my decision. I won't sugarcoat it - there were tons of great concepts and applications and amazing images which excite me to play this campaign. I am just going with my gut on this one so thank you for all the applications and time invested - it's not the classic party with all four bases covered - just picking the characters that intrigued me. Without further ado, here are the four selections:

Zedna Lark - Female angel-blooded aasimar (angelkin) brawler 1/ranger (urban ranger) 1
Lotho Proudheart -Archon-blooded aasimar paladin 2
Lucky Nick - Halfling Musetouched Weapon Master Fighter 2
Krayn La'Jal - Azata-blooded aasimar sorcerer 2

To those selected, please report to the Discussion Thread: Link

Thanks all again.

Whelp.... congrats to the selected, and thanks for the consideration.

Luck all.

Indeed, congratulations to those selected, have fun.

Even though I didn't get picked, I thank you for the opportunity and consideration GM!
