Hi, I am very much keen!

Have you played Second Edition?
I have GMed Second Edition and played some society games.

How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
I am very comfortable playing the game and looking forward to more time as a player rather than GM.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
I have played play by post games (though not on this forum) for more than a decade, and am very comfortable with them.

What kind of character are you willing to play?
I quite like gishy or martial characters so I am thinking a fighter with sorcerer or wizard dedication or maybe a monk.

Tell me a bit about yourself as a player.
I can be pretty tongue in cheek, but love to learn and adapt my characters for any situation.

Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.
This is a hard one! Back in 3.5 I played a really bubbly Fey-blooded Elf sorceress who was a great laugh. She believed she was descended from the literal Moon and the queen of the Summer Court.

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder? I really enjoy the chance to adventure and have fun with a group, socialise and make friends. I also quite like the tactical side of things trying to make my character be able to handle a wide variety of situations without just being a set of numbers.

Extinction Curse is Paizo's 26th adventure path, featuring heavy influences from carnival antics. It's got a fun aesthetic, and I'm excited to run with it. It's written for Pathfinder 2e, and I intend to play it with only a small amount of adjustment.

The summary wrote:

Come one, come all! Humble performers become leaders of the Circus of Wayward Wonders when tragedy strikes. But as these heroes lead their motley band of performers and roustabouts around the Isle of Kortos, they uncover a sinister plot to exterminate life from the Starstone Isle. The dead god Aroden may be gone, but his legacy lives on, as do his old enemies who would destroy the wonders he raised from the sea. Spectacle meets savagery as the heroes strive to stop the Extinction Curse!

What I need from you in this informal interview:
Have you played Second Edition?

I have, including the playtest and PFS 2e, although not as much as I'd like.

How comfortable are you with Second Edition?

Comfortable enough that I have favorite and least favorite classes.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?

Comfortable enough that, between all my avatars, I almost have 21k posts on these forums alone.

What kind of character are you willing to play?

I will play anything, but I find the most enjoyment out of playing support or tank characters.

Tell me a bit about yourself as a player.

I believe that characters should have their own voice, that reflects both their backstory as well as their stats; with that being said, most of my characters tend to be kinda smarta$$ed.

Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.

My all time favorite character is the one that my main alias is named after: Vrog Skyreaver. He was my living Arcanis character, and he had quite a long history, but the cliff notes version is that he was a veteran centurion (Arcanis uses a Roman flavored setting) and worshipper of the god of judgement, warfare, and fire, although he frequented the various holy temples to the goddess of divination and debauchery/sex that he could almost be considered a laymember.

He gave his soul to free someone from an artifact, as he had sworn that he would protect that very NPC years earlier (although to be fair at the time, I didn't know exactly WHAT I would need to ultimately do to protect him).

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder?

Pathfinder built on the best of the 3.5 setting, while inheriting some of it's worst aspects as well. I think that the creation of the archetype to get rid of the scourge of the prestige class from the 3.0/3.5 days was probably Paizo's best creation.

As far as second edition goes, I like that every class gets something every level. Dead levels suck a$$.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path Subscriber

Have you played Second Edition?
Not really, just joined another pbp game to learn a bit.
How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
Don´t know yet, but I really like the idea of this adventure path and being part of the circus.
How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
Have GM´d and played in a few games, currently entering 2nd book of Hells Rebels as a player.
What kind of character are you willing to play? I don´t mind too much, like playing clerics in PF 1e, quite fancy a dwarf or monk for a change, though not really familiar with 2e options for these yet.
Tell me a bit about yourself as a player. Pretty regular, I try and make interesting posts, but after a few months they tend to be less story intense.

Have you played Second Edition?
Yes I have. I’ve played a decent amount of PFS2 and am currently in an Age of Ashes game.

How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
Quite comfortable. There are a few exact uses of skills I don’t know off the top of my head, but I’m generally on top of it.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
Quite comfortable as well. I’m running three games and am playing in quite a few others.

What kind of character are you willing to play?
Anything really, though I find I gravitate the most towards skill characters or heavy melee types.

Tell me a bit about yourself as a player.
The characters I make, regardless of flavor or personality, tend to have difficult pasts. Nobody becomes an adventurer because of an easy life, after all. That’s not to say I like to play unnecessarily brooding and edgy characters. Someone with a lot of flavor is more fun 9 times of 10.

Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.
I’ve got two, one I got to played but didn’t create, and another I created but never got a chance to play. I was in a Starfinder playtest game at PaizoCon last year and played a pregen named Throckmorton. He was a wisecracking, sarcastic, self-centered SRO mechanic. The group dynamic was great, and over the course of a few hours I developed a personality, several bad catchphrases, and even a voice for him. The character I made but never played was Boxcar Joe. Made for a game in the City of Seven Seraphs, Boxcar Joe was a planar wanderer and a hobo. He had one of the deepest and most interesting backgrounds I’ve written, and even some mannerisms that I’d sorted out. He was a bit like a hobo Paul Bunyan, full of tall tales and colorful mannerisms. Unfortunately, the GM vanished the day before picks for the game were announced.

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder?
I enjoy the potential for creativity the most. It allows me to be someone that I wouldn’t and even couldn’t be.

I've been watching for anyone running this campaign. Something about freak show circus adventurers really interests me.

Have you played Second Edition? I have only played some 2e Pathfinder Society games, so not extensively.

How comfortable are you with Second Edition? Fairly comfortable. I've read the Core rulebook and made a handful of characters. Though I'm not as familiar with it as I am with Pathfinder 1e, I have been playing D&D and its ilk since the Red Box days, and will adjust quickly.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format? Very comfortable. Though I've played plenty of tabletop with friends, our longstanding group eventually disbanded after several moved away, and I've been on the Paizo boards since then for my RPG fix. I have been here a good 6-7 years, and have over 21,000 posts. So I'm committed to the long-haul of an Adventure Path.

What kind of character are you willing to play? I am willing to play any character role if selected for this game. However, my top pick would be a half-elf bard (probably with Rogue multiclass dedication) whose schtick for the circus is that he is a former court jester/juggler/entertainer who now thinks he is the king after escaping from his evil tyrant king oppressor.

Tell me a bit about yourself as a player. I like to think about and create characters, as well as play them. I'm prone to playing casters, anti-heroes, and characters with a significant weakness to role play. I like inter-party banter and role play. I was an English major in college and like creative writing, especially in this collaborative format.

Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever. Aside from the character I'm playing in any given moment? My first character played with friends decades ago is pretty memorable, but light on the role-play back then. I may have to settle for a top three: a paranoid gnome illusionist who uses his magic to create every possible layer of protection, a human mesmerist haunted by some dark power forced to confront her own fear, or a thrill-seeking halfling ranger who insists on making everything as hard as possible because it will be much more spectacular.

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder? I love the options to create any character I can conceive of. I like the many different ways players can create the same character class. I like that the rules take a backstage to the characters heroically facing challenges.

Thanks for your consideration! To be clear, you aren't looking for character submissions yet, just information about us, correct?

Have you played Second Edition? Only once, in a Torment and Legacy one shot where a GM steinkrug was kind enough to introduce us to 2nd Edition . We used the Pre made characters. I played the cleric.

How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
Still a rookie at best but happy to trust the GM. Character creation is different but I do have the 2nd Edition Book for same.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
I'm very grateful for PBP. My rl table top group hasn't met in years. So PBP has been a great opportunity for me.

What kind of character are you willing to play?

Whatever you need though Alchemists are still a mystery to me. I actually like Circuses as settings so I've had time to think about this. Options that came to my head included-
1)An Acrobat (Monk or Rogue) who was used as a second story man but has escaped that criminal past and now works happily on the high wires and trapezes.
2) A Sorcerer with the Elemental Fire or Red Dragonblood line who acts as a fire eater and pyromancer for the crowds entertainment and is some what at odds with his family for either embracing his 'freakish' nature, or for not using it as they intended.
3) A roustabout of immense strength, who didn't like the abuse at his last job and got himself and a child (Perhaps related, perhaps just a ward by choice) out of there. Possibly the 'strong silent type' until pushed too far.

But I'll try anything you need.
Tell me a bit about yourself as a player. I enjoy watching friendships and banter spring up in the party in RP when possible. I like it when the party makes a difference, not just 'save the world' but leaving NPCs better off than they were before because the characters had met them. I can be weak at details like keeping track of inventory etc. :o
Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.
Only one? I'll narrow it down to three. For an AD&D game, there was Urnst the Unlikable, a fighter/cleric dwarf who by die roll decree ended up with a terrible charisma. I ran with it, was undiplomatic in character at all times, and soon the party was ready to tackle him rather than let him have any part in diplomatic moments. Great fun. Another was a wild mage who was called "The Mad" but kept assuring everyone he was rarely got angry... on a more edgy area, I had a justice seeking mind controller in a champions game that was kind of my answer to the question "what if Batman was a mentalist?" he turned out to be a lot of fun for all his brooding ways and held to a code of ethics.

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder?

In addition to the usual (Fun times to be had with other people etc), I actually like a lot of aspects of the official setting. The quest for the sky that lead to dwarves hitting surface, Andoran's crusade against slavery, the blending of various human cultures done in a logical way, and bits of the mythology like Shelyn stealing her brother's glaive for his own good darn it.

Turns out I can't edit but my idea at the moment is a Lizardfolk Monk, who is the circus Strongfolk.

I'll bite:

Have you played Second Edition?
Yes. I am currently GMing an Age of Ashes campaign.

How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
Honestly, less comfortable than with 1st edition, mostly due to just having played 1st edition (and D&D 3.5) for so many years longer. But I know the rules well enough to play or at least look up what I'm unsure about.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
I've GMed a Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign from start to finish over the course of 3ish years. Very proud of that. Feel free to check it out. And been a player in a number of other play-by-post campaigns. I am not active in any campaigns at the moment.

What kind of character are you willing to play?
Any. I haven't read the player's guide for Exinction Curse yet but will look into it.

Tell me a bit about yourself as a player.
I'm 38. I have a 5 year old daughter. I've been playing D&D since college starting with 3rd edition. D&D/Pathfinder has been my primary go-to roleplaying game but recently I've been branching out to other systems including Starfinder, Exalted, Vampire, 7 Seas, Rogue Trader, Shadowrun, etc with a local group that meets on Monday nights.

Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.
I have so many. It is hard to choose. I'll put, Wizgille, that I created for a Red Dragon Inn play-by-post campaign based on the character by that name. Unfortunately the game was dead on arrival and we never got out of the inn, but the character was so much fun in the short time that I played her. She could almost drive the story forward without a GM.

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder?
I like that the possibilities are endless. Pathfinder gives a nice structure to create a character but then what you can do with that character is limited only by your imagination.

Have you played Second Edition?
Yes, though not overly extensively – other than a couple of abortive games back in the playtest/beta days I've been in three PF2 games altogether, two of which are still running (on these very boards no less).

How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
Pretty comfortable, at least as far as the basic gameplay is concerned. Elements like the exploration mode, downtime activities etc. have not really come up yet in the games I'm in, so those I'm admittedly less familiar with. It helps that 2E's combat owes quite a bit to D&D 4E, which I have a great deal of experience with.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
Very! I've been participating in PbP games on various sites for over a decade at this point, and have in fact never played a "true" tabletop RPG. I enjoy PbP because it's inherently asynchronous and allows for a greater focus on/more refined prose, dialogue and so on than live play.

What kind of character are you willing to play?
I don't really have any favourite classes, so if there is a particular role that needs filling I can certainly do so. (I will admit that I'm not overly keen on alchemists.) That said, I'm already playing a champion and a wizard in the two games I'm currently in, and because variety is the spice of life I'd prefer to take some of the other classes for a spin first if possible.

Tell me a bit about yourself as a player.
Perhaps most importantly for PbP purposes, I'm not the most prolific poster: three posts a week is what I can roughly manage. I do however strive to make those posts count, as it were – making a post just so I can say I've made a point isn't my thing. This doesn't mean they're all insanely long (this is a known issue that I've been working on!), but I try to have them either advance the game somehow or else contribute something interesting or flavourful.
More generally speaking, I'm quite happy to have my characters engage with other PCs and NPCs alike if there's any mutual interest in it, and if the situation allows for it – simply ticking off a checklist of plot points and required interactions doesn't much appeal to me. On the other hand I also understand that certain concessions must sometimes be made to keep a game going, especially in PbP, even if they can seem somewhat metagame-y. It's often a difficult call to make, but then again, nobody said GMing was easy!
Finally, I hate when players/GMs drop a game by silently vanishing from it, and I can be counted on to be around for the long run, or at the very least informing the GM if I'll be dropping out for whatever reason.

Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.
I don't have any favourite characters per se either, but one I still think back to fondly was Thrasher, a Warforged barbarian in the D&D Eberron setting. One of a series of elite assault units built by House Cannith as trench stormers and shock troopers, inhumanly tough and with a propensity for ruthlessly effective violence, he was the only one of his number to survive the Last War – and had, by the time the game began, discovered that his kind had all been fitted with magical kill switches in case the war came to an end, limiting his lifespan to no more than a couple of years. Naturally, he was having absolutely none of that.
And, yes, there were shades of Roy Batty there for sure, coupled with a degree of casual contempt for the weakness of all the meatbags around him. He was a fun character with a slightly different take on the whole barbarian concept, but sadly the game itself didn't last very long. That's PbP for you!

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder?
Prior to the new edition I actually was not interested in Pathfinder at all, so I can't honestly say I am invested in the setting itself in any meaningful way (though I appreciate the breadth of options it offers). In terms of the system I like its reasonably progressive take on game design, which is more to my liking than that of certain other mainstream fantasy RPGs I could name.

1: Have you played Second Edition?
Yep. But only barely. I was part of a pbp that lasted maybe a month? I did try it a bit in RL but that was during the playtest. And that was short-lived as well.

2: How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
Not as comfortable as I would like to be. Not even close. Since I've only barely played it's just not there for me. I've got the Core book so I would DEFINITELY be looking stuff up a great deal.

3: How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
Now this I'm totally comfortable with. I've been on these boards nearly 11 years so it's no biggie.

4: What kind of character are you willing to play?
Any type of frontline warrior is typically my preference. I mean, I've played every core class but warrior types are my favorite. Having said that, I've got several aliases that are sooooo not warrior types and have been a LOT of fun to play. But deep down I just like to smash things. :)

5: Tell me a bit about yourself as a player.
As a player I like to throw in humor with ALL my characters. Whether they are drop dead evil, boring as all get out, too pompous to even know what 'funny' is, or whatever the case. And I just try to throw something out there that gives the other players an opportunity to respond. Because to me, that's what makes it fun. Even if they say, "Hey, Javell, shut yer big yap!" then that's perfect! Just a simple reaction of ANY sort makes it fun. That's what it's all about, man. :) And I work to respond to others because that's equally as fun. And I like for all my pc's to be different. I try and make sure all of them have different personalities.

6: Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.
Oh man that is a tough one. Javell was an RL pc of mine back in the day and he was SUCH a blast. But man o man that really is a good question. You know, along with Javell, I'd probably have to go with Thordak the Barbarian. I'm currently in a Runelords game with him(Book 6 actually) and he's just an absolute ton of fun. He's a raging, fiery, dwarven barbarian who's a big ol' softie. BUT DON'T YOU DARE TELL ANYBODY! He'd just deny it. ;) (Ultimately though, really tough call. You could draw straws, you know?)

7: And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder?
Shoooot, all of it! It is all around greatness. I've played DnD since... this book. I was around 10 or 11 when I started. Into second edition, 3.5, and now Pathfinder. Pathfinder is great stuff. This is the only role-playing game I play. Outside of Pathfinder 2.0, I'm really just not that interested in learning any other system. Way too much work and time that I don't really have. At least I know what I'm reading when it comes to PF 2.0 and therefore the transition is simpler. Any other system would be utter greek to me(And 'no', I do not speak greek). :P

Answering:

Have you played Second Edition?
Haven't yet. I am very curious about it, but I tend to dislike PFS games since I don't feel much character growth.

How comfortable are you with Second Edition?
7 on a 0-10 scale. The rules are pretty straightforward, but I tend to get more comfortable with systems after I've played at least some of it.

How comfortable are you with the Play by Post format?
Very comfortable. Right now it's my main playing format and I've been having a good time. The biggest downside to me is when people drop out, but that's life, I guess.

What kind of character are you willing to play?
I tend to enjoy primarily (arcane) caster characters. A second place is skilled characters, but extra points if they can use magic too (such as bards, alchemists and investigators). A martial character needs to have at least one weirdness before I find them interesting to play, and I enjoy sporadic divine casters.

Tell me a bit about yourself as a player.
I tend to get attached to my characters. I like to see them grow and mature. I like to be present at discussions and enjoy games which give protagonism to the characters, meaning that I tend not to like games that hold my hand and lead me from one problem to the next. In other words, I like my (and the group's) ideas and choices to matter, both positively and negatively.

Tell me a bit about your favorite character ever.
I don't remember her name, but she was a dread necromancer (3.5 class in some book which I don't remember) I played. She had a familiar named Richard (why do I only remember the familiar's name?) which was an imp disguised as a crow. I loved how focused she was. The group was an elite task force that worked in a kingdom in a homebrew. We had many problems to solve, but she was so focused on getting it done, that much of what happened in the story, I feel like she had a hand in it. Eventually she and the group got too powerful, however (3.5 tended to do that), and the DM sort of gave up on the story. But it was memorable.

And lastly, what do you enjoy most about Pathfinder?
I enjoy the richness of character options in the game. Many interesting characters can be built and with much detail. 2nd edition equipment options is a great example of what I mean.
