Should I be just inside the mouth?

Is there a spot inside the mouth where I can stand which is not filled with swarms, acid pools or black tentacles? If not I will live with being in the tetacles this round and it will trigger my lesser talisman of freedom giving me 3 rounds of freedom of movement.

Is there any chance I could have stopped short of the tentacles? As a person, I don’t have 20/20 vision, and didn’t see the tentacles on the map.
To them is enough of a spell caster to recognize what they are, he would understand the threat.

@Tothek: I've taken the stance with everyone so far that you cannot see in the beast stomach unless you physically enter the giant beetle's mouth. It's not a straight dungeon hallway. I've allowed the mouth to stay opened, but you know... it's a stretch already! :) Check slide 5 for an idea of how small a gap there is. The mouth is officially only 15 feet wide, but I've also allowed you fine folks to enter it from the sides. I've also not fiddled with the idea of those teeth being at least difficult terrain, or requiring an Escape Artist check.
@Lilly: I thought you were grappled at the moment, but your recent post indicate you are moving away. I must have missed something. Let me know what it is.

Plane Shifting a PC away, is kind of writing them out of the scenario. When it happens on the first encounter... that PC doesn't even get XP. 8P
Though I suppose he had to have a planar focus to cast it... so perhaps once we kill it, we can find it, and figure out just which plane he got sent to?
Not that that helps... even if we could get there.

Planar foci have no cost and so a spell component pouch comes with a compliment for all of the planes. If Thrag has 5PP then he can get his faction to recover him. I suppose he could then purchase ateleport to get to the rift but that leaves him a long way off from the rest of us.
I did once plane shift a PC twic in the same level of emerald spire which was quite brutal.
Of course this all assumes Thrag survives whatever plane he has been sent to. The negative material plane for example is pretty much a death sentence.

I dunno... the spell component pouch doesn't include items that wouldn't fit in a pouch. I could very well see a forked metal rod falling in that category. If one didn't want to be too draconian about it. =)
As for where he went...
You can survive the negative plane, if you have the right stuff.
The positive plane on the other hand, that will kill you pretty much always.

Yes, kudos to all, for handling high-level play well.
And, while unfortunate, I feel like plane shift is fair. If we can do it...they should be able to do it as well.

I think you can spend prestige to have the society come get you, but I'm not 100% on that.

I would allow a player to spend the 5 prestige to get rescued and come back into the scenario, but the timing is sort of vague so I could see some GMs saying that could only happen at the end.
