So, you control the Abyss?:

OK, this round you have control of the Abyss. These are the potential effects you can achieve. Valrar, let me know what you want to do, feel free to be creative.

Quake: Each creature standing in a 20-foot radius must attempt a DC 20 Reflex save or fall prone. Fissures open in the earth, and every creature on the ground has a 25% chance to fall into one (Reflex DC 20 avoids). The fissures are 40 feet deep. At the end of the round, all fissures grind shut. Treat all trapped creatures as if they were in the bury zone of an avalanche, trapped without air (Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook 429). In Subtier 14–15, increase the DC of the Reflex save by 2.

Meteor Strike: Two meteors strike the battlefield, as per the
spell meteor swarm.

Acid Bubble: An Abyssal bubble bursts, spraying acid on all
creatures within a 20-foot radius. This deals 10d6 points of acid damage (Reflex DC 21 half ). In Subtier 14–15, the damage increases to 13d6, and the saving throw DC increases to 23.

Abyssal Minions: The dirt of the Abyss squirms with life, as
a 20-foot-radius spread of grasping claws springs from the ground. This functions like a black tentacles spell (CL 15th, or CL 17th in Subtier 14–15).

Other: The PCs could potentially create other effects, such as altering terrain features or even creating crude structures from thin air. Allow them some leeway in how they decide to shape the Abyss, especially if it creates fun or cinematic effects.

So you drank the blood of a Demon Lord:

Abyssal Attunement: You no longer take penalties on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma based skill checks based on the difference between the Abyss’s alignment and your own. Additionally, you are particularly adept at manipulating the raw substance of the Abyss, an ability that will have mechanical benefits in your encounter with Koth’Vaul.

Initiative: You gain a +2 bonus on initiative checks.
Epic Strikes: Your attacks with natural and manufactured weapons bypass DR/epic.
Mythic Power: You gain two uses of mythic power per day. You can use this power in the following ways.
• Surge: After you fail any check that uses a d20 roll, as an immediate action you can expend one use of mythic power to roll 1d6 and retroactively add the result to the check.
• Extra Action: Up to once per round as a free action on your turn, you can expend one use of mythic power to take an additional standard action. This action cannot be used to cast a spell.

Hello all,

I am recruiting players for The Rasping Rebirth, one of the Season 10 Seeker Tier adventures. This is a tier 12-15 game. I will not be taking first come, first served. Instead I will look to put together a reasonably balanced party solidly in one tier.

High level games can take quite some time to resolve. There is quite a lot of combat in this one and high level combats can run for multiple rounds. This effect is magnified in PbP. As such I will be looking for at least one post per day if not more to keep things running.

I will be asking for full character details before I accept anyone into the game. You should have a complete profile linked to an alias here on the boards with a completed tagline.

Having said all of that the goal is to enjoy ourselves and this scenario does look like a doozy. It brings a resolution to the conflict with a major enemy of the Society who has appeared over multiple previous scenarios.

If you are interested in playing please fill in your details using the link below.

Sovereign Court

Submitted Alie.

Using this thread to roll for day job in case she is accepted.

Perform vocal 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Scarab Sages

Craft (Sculptor): 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (20) + 31 = 51

Sovereign Court

Submitted Valrar. Need to level him up to 15, but I'm leaving shortly to attend to a family member. Not much to change, though.

Sleight of Hand, Vanity Bonus: 1d20 + 24 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 24 + 2 = 38

Sovereign Court

Sorry, above post was with the ‘wrong’ Alie. This is the correct alias.

Aaaargh! my PC is 2 XP short of qualifying... I will have to bow out, unless I GM it instead so that AndrewW can play it?

Dark Archive

Haven't played Society in a good 4 and a half years, and never as a PbP, but this is almost too tempting to pass up.

I've got an Oracle that I played through EotT with that I would love to submit for your perusal, though I need to overhaul to her profile first, as most of the crunch is missing - always played in person, so never put too much into it. Also need to do an audit to make sure she's still AR legal.

Fair warning ahead of time: Imperia IS a Lawful Neutral Diabolist and Asmodeus follower, though you'll find she's probably the least antagonistic one around.

I have already played it and am replaying it myself this weekend.

The Exchange

Filled out. Do you need a day job roll?

Ah! I see... I will then offer a second table over at Myth Weavers, methinks...

Grand Lodge

Submitting Lion Shaman 13.

Day Job hunter lodge, survival: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15

Gentlemen....

OK, it looks like we have five players which is enough to make a sart on looking at things. I will aim to begin on Monday to give some time for a 5th but I dont expect us to do much over Christmas. I may well have some questions for people after reviewing your profiles.

One question does immediately arise. This scenario has an optional hard mode. Hard mode means you face a more difficult version of the scenario. There is no additional reward other than the satisfaction of dealing with a more challenging game. For hard mode to be engaged everyone must agree to it.

I need all potential players to let me know, yay or nay, to the hard mode option. Please do not post it here, PM me directly, as it is supposed to be a free and open choice and I wont want anyone to feel pressurised to decide in either direction.

In case it matters it looks like we are currently APL13, solidly low tier.

Questions for Fendahl:

You have the improved spell sharing feat. It is a teamwork feat and only works if you and your companion both have it. Animal companions generally cannot take it as it requires you to be able to take a companion. It only really works if you can share it with your companion in some way such as with Hunters. Do you have a way to share your teamwork feats? You can do it with a couple of saddle magic items. The Improved Share Spells feat does something similar but that requires 10 ranks in spellcraft and the spells end if you split up from your companion.

Kirrah is wearing Lamellar armour without proficiency, it doesnt look like the ACP has been included in her attack bonus although I could be wrong about that.

You seem to be wearing heavy armour without proficiency. This is fine but it does mean that the ACP will apply to dex and str ability checks, which includes Initiative. It should also apply to your attack rolls.

Kirrah is wearing a magical belt. While the big cat companion can gain a saddle slot they have to take the Extra Item Slot feat first. The belt slot is not available for cats. Companions generally get the armour and neck slot for free. Mounts get a saddle slot for free. All other slots need to be purchased. The FAQ is HERE. The list for clawed quadrapeds is:

Quadruped [claws] (armor, chest, eyes, head, headband, neck, saddle, shoulders, wrist): Badger, bear, capybara, cheetah, dallo, digmaul, dire polar bear, dire rat, dog, faerie mount, gallerok, giant mole, giant skunk, giant weasel, goblin dog, griffon, grizzly bear, hippogriff, hyena, hobbe hound, leopard, lion, marsupial devil, marsupial lion, mome rath, owlbear, panda, polar bear, riding rat, saber-toothed cat, switchback jackal, thylacine, tiger, wolf, wolfdog, wolverine, worg

Questions for Bauble:

You list one of your traits as being Exile from Rise of the Runelords. I dont believe any campaign traits are legal so you may need to check this. Certainly the entry in additional resources for Rise doesnt mention it. You could of course achieve the same benefit with Reactionary but I think you may well need to change it.

@Fendahl, spotted you have heavy armour proficiency from the samurai level so you can ignore that. Missed the edit post window.

The Exchange

exile:
I had not realized that traits from paths were not allowed. Or perhaps I did and forgot, and decided it was moot. Can't remember if I did it on purpose, but, yes, consider it as reactionary, though I will still think of it as exiled as that fits the character. I've updated the character sheet to say as much and so I will remember.

So what happens if you build and use the character for a RotR campaign and get chronicles for the character but the campaign stops and you start playing it as a regular PFS character. Do you still keep the trait?

Grand Lodge

GM:

I had not updated Kirrah's sheet, but I had taken the teamwork feat ( improved spell sharing) for both Kirrah and Fendahl. It seems odd that companions would not qualify for it, but I can remove it if it really is not allowed except for hunters or the like.
Kirrah has light armor proficiency (updated sheet)
Fendahl's heavy dragon armor is from Samurai
I thought for sure animal companions could also wear belts. I had not seen FAQ so thanks for sharing. If possibly, can remove the share spells feat and take as extra item (belt) slot for her? Or the saddle for the belt.
I will update sheet(s) once you respond.

Bauble wrote:
** spoiler omitted **

If you play an AP that character uses whatever rules your GM decides, assuming you are playing it in campaign mode. They have no direct link to the PFS character you apply the chronicles to.

If uouu nly play the PFS sanctioned sections then the character has to be PFS legal.

@Fendahl, unfortunately yes, your companion doesnt qualify to take improved spell sharing. You can share it with the Horsemasters Saddle and there may be another one that does it as well.

Silver Crusade

@GMAndrew - Shump is 16 now after the last game your ran. But I have a 12 wizard.

Sorry I was being nosy but Bauble it looks like you're only 11 unless you have an un-scanned chronicle.

Wizard 12 is fine, post his profile so I can have a quick look over.

OK, Rogar looks fine and it looks like we have a full group. You are showing as having improved familiar Rogar, who/what is it? Please make sure that you have filled in the spreadhseet. This will be low tier with no hard mode adjustment. Please let me know if you have done any of the following adventures on this character:

• #5–00: Siege of the Diamond City
• #5–02: The Wardstone Patrol
• #5–03: The Hellknight’s Feast
• #5–09: The Traitor’s Lodge
• #5–11: Library of the Lion
• #5–13: Weapon in the Rift
• #5–22: Scars of the Third Crusade
• #5–24: Vengeance at Sundered Crag
• #5–25: Assault on the Wound
• #7–17: Thralls of the Shattered God.

I will open the gameplay thread shortly, please feel free to introduce yourselves.

Sovereign Court

I haven’t played any of those scenarios with Alie.

Grand Lodge

#5–24: Vengeance at Sundered Crag

GMAndrewW wrote:

It's a small earth elemental. I don't use it in combat. But I do to scout.

I'm going to get 2 potions of cure serious wounds and a scroll of life bubble.

@Bauble, can you confirm that you are level 12 please. The chronicle list on your profile puts you at level 11.

Sovereign Court

Valrar has played #5–00: Siege of the Diamond City and #5–02: The Wardstone Patrol.

The Exchange

Confirmed. Bauble earned 33 XP.

See spreadsheet at this location. The spread sheet has a list of the chronicles and XP for each and totals the XP. It also does the math for his gear.

Though in my examination I realize I never recorded one of my chronicles (Echos of the Everwar Part IV) as I never picked up the sheet and thus actually earned 34 XP. Unfortunately, because of my mistake one would have to be lost as illegally earned! Ugh.

Of the scenarios listed, the only one Bauble has done is The Traitor's Lodge.

When Bauble is confirmed I will check into gameplay and fill out his info.

OK, thats fine, you have a spot. Please drop into the gameplay thread.

Scarab Sages

If it's reported or not then ask an online VC for the chronicle.

FYI If you play this you're ineligible to play Eyes of Ten.

The Exchange

The chronicle would do me no good. I have the 33 XP to be at 12th level and none of the chronicles I currently have are eligible past 33 xp so getting another one would do me no good. Unless I wanted to swap it in for the other one I gained at the same XP point. I'm just annoyed at myself for mot following up and collecting/recording the chronicle. Too late now though.

I'd have to use a replay to do EotT.
