Sadly, it has all the usual elemental traits, including immunity to flanking and precision damage. OTOH, it doesn't like your fire. :)
Laiashi stabs with both hands, catching it off-guard just enough to get the second attack in. Steam rises up and it howls at the heat.

Ushi follows into the room, trusting his armor to protect him from harm as he attempts to force the elemental over.
CMB to Trip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Two AoOs, if it is able.

GM Rinaldo |

No combat reflexes here!
AoO vs movement: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Ushi moves in, avoiding the elemental's touch as he moves past Patros. He then leans in and sweeps its feet out from under it!
Just barely, but you were successful on the trip.
Random target: 1=Nino, 2=Laiashi, 3=Patros, 4=Ushi 1d4 ⇒ 4
Attack (prone): 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 7 - 4 = 18
It lashes out again at Ushi, but from the ground is unable to reach his target.
Everyone is up! No flanking bonus and no precision damage, but his AC is 4 lower for being prone.

Nino attacks again.
mwk greatsword power attack, Furious Focus: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 + 3 = 14

"Oh, you don't like that? Well now you know how I felt!"
Dagger 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 +1 fire
Dagger 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 +1 fire
Curse you, critical immunity.

GM Rinaldo |

This time everyone swings and connects, leaving the poor elemental a sad heap on the floor.
Now that you have a moment to inspect the room, you notice ichor dripping from the northern wall, an indication of the presence of the Heart just on the other side.
Beyond that, there is nothing of note or interest here.

![]() |

"Guys, he is not on this floor. Let's look upstairs! But before we go, who needs healing!?"
Then he pulls out his wand.
clw Nino: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
when we finish with healing
Nino starts moving upstairs and then opens first door on the right.
look map - I have moved all the tokens

GM Rinaldo |

Don't forget you found a fully charged wand of CLW, so don't spend your own resources until you use it up.
Going back upstairs, you return to the area of rooms where you first met Nicasor and his fetchling "family". The fetchlings are still there, and when you start to open one of the side doors, they object, stating that those are their personal rooms.
As before, they object to you barging in and looking around, so let me know how you are going to handle that. They are unarmed and wearing ordinary clothing.

![]() |

"I doubt they have anything that can be of use in destroying the Heart. Where else have we left to search?"

![]() |

"Run down stairs if you wanna save your lives!! Quickly!!" says Nino to fetchling "family" and continues to open the doors in this hallway.

Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
(from found wand)
Laiashi sighs. "Look," she says to the fetchlings. "We need to find Nicasor. He's doing his best to sabotage our efforts, which means he has nobody's best interests at heart, including yours. We won't search your quarters," she says pointedly, more to her allies than to the fetchlings, "but if he came through here, please tell us."
Diplomacy (take 10): 10 + 10 = 20

GM Rinaldo |

Nino, I've apparently still not made it clear -- this is not a hallway, it is a living room. The doors are all doors to personal rooms off of this living area. If you still intend to open the doors despite the fetchlings' objections, that's fine, but I'll need you to specify which ones in what order (as different things will happen based on that decision).

![]() |

It does not look like living room. There is no furniture :)
Let's start from the left and then we go counterclockwise

GM Rinaldo |

Laiashi: Sorry, saw the CLW rolls and missed the Diplomacy check.
"What? No, he hasn't been back since you left with him. What's going on? How are we in danger?"
You've startled them, and they seem genuinely confused.

![]() |

"He just using your kindness! I think he intends to do something dangerous!"
Diplomacy aid: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

![]() |

"Well, because we're trying to get everyone out of here, and he's making our job harder," Laiashi responds, holding out an arm to stop Nino from barging into bedrooms.
Did we check those other two doors between where we are and the staircase? Just now, I mean. If so, I suggest we go to the room in the southeast.

![]() |

I wanna check the room where we last time find him as a last room. But we can check those two room near staircase right now

GM Rinaldo |

"What do you mean 'leave'? There is no leaving! Do you not understand what a prison plane is?"

GM Rinaldo |

The only doors you haven't opened are the ones leading off of this living area, and the ones inside Nicasor's room.

![]() |

"OK I had enough of this! Didn't I told you 5 seconds ago to go downstairs! So go right now and don't ask questions if you wanna live!! If you don't leave this room in 3 seconds I will cut you in half!"
I'm sorry, but I'm a little frustrated with this. GM Rinaldo, I will mark you doors on the map with numbers and maybe then we will not have misunderstandings. I don't know for the party, but I wanna open doors in order from 1 to 14. We wanna check rooms 1 and 2 just in case
I know my English is not very good, maybe that's causing the problem. I am sorry for that.

GM Rinaldo |

The fetchlings clearly think you're crazy, but say, "Sure, we'll leave when you do. Give a shout when you get the door open."

GM Rinaldo |

As you start moving toward Nicasor's room, ignoring the objections of the fetchlings, one of them opens a side door and calls into it, "Hey, there's new people here talking about escaping, and they're headed toward Nicasor's room."
Two shae, one male and one female, are in the room, which appears to be some sort of library, with mismatched shelves bulging with books of various shapes and sizes.
The male picks up a falchion that was leaning against the wall and steps into the living area. The female hesitates moment before moving behind him.
The male calls out to you, "Ho there! Stop that immediately! What's going on here?"
I put Nino in the hallway leading to Nicasor's room, as he has been leading the way. Everyone else is a bit behind him. The fetchlings are not on the map, as they are clearly non-combatants, but there are several of them scattering away from you, into the lower left corner of the room.

![]() |

"We're trying to free everyone," Laiashi responds, stepping toward the male. "I don't know why you all seem to think this prison is so immutable, but it's not. We need Nicasor to help us get everyone out of here."
Diplomacy (for what it's worth): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

![]() |

"I understand your situation appears hopeless, but things have changed. We have a weapon that can kill the heart of this prison and free everyone. But we need all the assistance we can find"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18

GM Rinaldo |

"Then prove your intentions are peaceful by removing your weapons while you are in our house. Then you can explain how this would work."
As he says this, the fetchlings all gather in the corner of the room, waiting to see how this comes out.

![]() |

Ushi grunts as he looks to Nino. "I don't believe that is possible. Weapons are a part of his religion."

![]() |

Laiashi holds up her empty hands. "I wouldn't bear arms against a kind host in his own house. I'm empty-handed, as you can see."
Perception DC 30 to prove otherwise :) technically 32 to find her daggers specifically. I've updated my Sleight of Hand breakdown to show that all bonuses stack.

![]() |

Ushi nods and unstraps his shield, laying it on the floor before him. With both hands free, he unstraps the dagger from his waist and sets it atop the darkwood.

GM Rinaldo |

As you comply with his demand, the shae smiles and lowers his own weapon. "Well, it is good to see we have civilized company. If you don't mind taking a step back, my daughter will place your weapons out of reach, and we can hear what you have to say."
The female steps over and carefully places your weapons on a nearby table, as the male continues. "I am Atamin, and this is Manar. Please, introduce yourselves and explain what all this fuss is about now."

![]() |

This seems like a huge waste of time. But then again, Laiashi reminds herself, nobody has anywhere else to go. Including Nicasor. "My name's Laiashi. My friends and I are Pathfinders tasked with freeing everyone."

GM Rinaldo |

"I have no idea what a 'Pathfinder' is, or why you would have such a task, but that really doesn't matter. What does is how you expect to do it? You'll forgive my skepticism, given how long my brother and I have been here."

![]() |

"Your brother? Where's your brother? Why is he not here with you? How did you end up here? What is your relationship with Nicasor?
I guarantee you we've found a way out of here, but for now it's just for our ears and eyes. Nicasor has fooled us once before, so we don't trust anyone."
"Oh yes, my name is Nino!"

![]() |

I am Patros. Well, we're your ticket out of here. Once we're done, you can head back with us...if you want that is. Help us and we can get out of here quicker. Anything about Nicasor you can tell us that might help us against him?

![]() |

Nino: the female is talking, I'm sure she means the male who's next to her. :)
"I mean we certainly can't do anything if we keep being sabotaged by your fearless leader. How long have you two been here?"

![]() |

”We have been given an artifact, useless for most anything else, but have been promised it can kill the heart of this mirror and open the way back to the Material. We have attempted to finish the fight, but were unsuccessful. We need more assistance to destroy it once and for all.”

![]() |

Nino: the female is talking, I'm sure she means the male who's next to her. :)
They are father and daughter.

GM Rinaldo |

The male is talking, the female is identified as his daughter. She is quietly standing with the fetchlings currently.
"Nicasor is my brother. I was imprisoned here for participating in his little ... event. As to what he is up to now, I couldn't say. Have you asked someone to check his chambers?" He points down the hall to Nicasor's room.
At this, the fetchling who called Atamin in remarks, "No, they just barged in and started giving orders. That's why I came to get you."
As Ushi gives more information, Atamin says, "So you have a means to destroy the heart? Does Nicasor know this?"
===============
Just FYI, I am using this conversation with those diplomacy checks you rolled earlier, so his final attitude will be determined by those checks and what you say (and how you say it). You can tell that immediately surrendering your weapons on request made a good starting impression on him. Also, enough time has passed in conversation for me to let you make Sense Motive checks; however, I'd prefer to make those rolls in secret, so if you want to make the check just tell me your modifier.

![]() |

Will someone answer something? I would answer, but I dare not because you again will not be satisfied.
My intention is to attack Nicasor as soon as I see him, just to clear that part.
