I'll add the reaction cannon to the pile, but that only adds 25 UBTs to the stash.
Personally I would consider the spell gems to be the start of a "party medkit" as opposed to personal treasure.

Absolutely, Ordyt. I put your name since you are the only one who can use them, I think. If you like we can make a 'party' designation in the loot sheet, but it does help us to know who is carrying what.
With items sold or rendered into UPB's only at 10%, I encourage anyone who wants an item for personal use to definitely grab it. If we as a group are interested in a more strict accounting, that works too, but I just did the leftover split of funds evenly.
As it is, Flint just had barely enough between what he already had and the new credits to get the personal upgrade, so he is a somewhat more effective warrior now.
Thoughts?
Ordyt |
If we're hard up we can sell the plasma guide. As cool as it is Ordyt's build can't really take advantage of it and selling it nets us another 107 UPBs. We could put the Ominous Fusion on someone else's weapon.
Captain Flint Conners |
Don't sell it on Flint's behalf. I am happy to have allies with powerful weapons, and we should all have melee and ranged options. Like I wrote, at 10% return, it is hardly worth it to sell an item if you could potentially use it.
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
The 768.5 plus the 18.5 you gave me Flint puts me at 787. Add that to the 101 credits I have gives me 888 to spend! :D
Mindlink Circlet is nearly DOUBLE that, though. Personal Upgrades too. :(
Marisol Welkin |
Let me know if there's any gear you want me to make for you! I can make weapons, armor, and technological equipment up to item level 3, and while the cost is the same, I can make exactly the thing you want and it's easier for me to fix up custom gear I've created.
Marisol Welkin |
Could you post a link to the item?
Captain Flint Conners |
Personal Upgrade is the item...Thanks, Mari.
Marisol Welkin |
I can build a Mk1 Synaptic Accelerator, no problem. It will take 1400 UPBs.

Answering some earlier questions:
- The loot listed includes what was taken from the spellcaster's guards (though it doesn't include their second skin armors, which were returned to the militia rather than given to you).
- The bathtub was kinda neat, but it'll have to remain a secret... FOREVER :)
- The next part of the campaign starts after at least several days of recuperation, so yes, you'll be back at full HP and will have had plenty of time to make any purchases.
- Note that the squox is currently deeply hostile toward your group. If someone wants to slowly win it over, that could be possible, but it won't serve as much of a mascot right now.
- I encourage you to assign items to a specific person. If something is in ambiguous "party" inventory, no one can access it mid combat.
- Note that the ominous property is a fusion rather than a fusion seal, so transferring it requires paying half the cost in credits (based on the item level of the target weapon) and needs a character trained in Mysticism.
Seems as though a couple people still need to finish their level up. That's A-OK. Tomorrow I'll be moving us into book 2, but there won't immediately be combat.

UPDATE: I've finished most of Belmarniss' level-up, I just have to pick a feat and update her spells. How many UPBs do we HAVE at the moment? If we have enough to add to my 888 credits I could afford a personal upgrade like Flint.
Captain Flint Conners |
As I understand it, Belmarniss, you can exchange UPB's and credits on a 1-for-1 basis, so it depends how many credits you had from our previous exploits on the Breath of Embers.
Sammad Al-Fayir |
Sammad is all leveled up. He doesn't gain much, other than the expertise talents feature. I gave him Gregarious Mien, which lets him use Diplomacy to alter people's attitudes more readily. For his feat, I went with Weapon Focus (small arms) so that hopefully he's better at shooting going forward.
I'm looking into new gear for him, besides the new armor he got. GM, is there a facility in Asanatown where he could get a quick-release sheath upgrade installed?

That's included in the 888 total, I was just wondering if we had any left over.

Everyone's good with the current distribution of loot/credits/UPB?
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
I think so? I also am trying to decide on a feat. I'm tempted to take Skill Synergy so Intimidate becomes a class skill for me, as I'll need it for my Challenge class feature when I hit 4th level, but I can't increase my INT yet for an additional skill rank, and I'd need to decide if I want to select a second new class skill (probably Sense Motive or Culture), or get a +2 to an existing class skill (probably Piloting). What do you folx think?
Captain Flint Conners |

Flint is good, unless someone wants to suggest another division method.
By the way, Flint has an extra Quick Release Sheath if someone would like to use it—his new armor doesn’t accommodate it, but he is holding onto it for later.
Belmarniss, tough call on the feat. Flint has Skill Synergy himself, but he used it to pump up his Diplomacy and Intimidate. If you need the class skill at fourth level, it does sound like the right choice.

@Sammad: Yep, you can definitely get a quick release sheath installed anywhere in the Burning Archipelago. Generally, you can expect anything in the Core Rulebook to be available, as well as stuff from the Dawn of Flame AP backmatter. Other stuff from other books is likely to be available too, though I'd like people to check with me.
Apparently the max item level in the Burning Archipelago is 20th! So that implies a pretty large degree of availability.

I have completed updating Belmarniss' sheet to 3rd level, and went with Skill Synergy to give me Culture and Intimidate as class skills. I'll put ranks into them as soon as I have the INT for it.
I don't really think I have anything I want to BUY at the moment, and realize the reason I can't afford a Personal Upgrade like Flint is because I spent 500 creds on those shades, so it'll have to come later.
I also realized as I was leveling Belmarniss up that I'd MAJORLY screwed up when it came to spells for her: I didn't take the bonus spells from her INT score into account (the table doesn't appear on Archives of Nethys' Technomancer page), and forgot to give her new spells at 2nd level, so she should be MUCH more effective in fights going forward. She's just a late-bloomer I guess. *sweatdrop*

Shoot we forgot about the squox again too!

Part of me wishes I'd had Near Space before this campaign started. I got the inspiration to make a Dragonblood Lambent Vesk Doshko Specialist Solarian who worships Sarenrae (known to the vesk as "The Firescale") and was like, "Aw man, that'd be a GREAT character to play Dawn of Flame with!" But I'm already playing Belmarniss as my canon Dawn of Flame PC so...crap. :(
Ordyt |
I really liked Near Space, although to be honest I've liked all the Starfinder expansions so far. I've been thinking about rolling up a Witchwarper or Vanguard in my next SF game (whenever that might be) to get a feel for the new classes.
And Belmarniss is great! I haven't seen anyone do a melee Technomancer build so I'm curious to see how it works out. My first characer was an android Technomancer sniper, and he died a sad death in the Drift.
GM Cellion |
@Bel if you'd like to shelve your character because you want to bring in a different one, that's certainly possible. Though I know I like it when there's a fairly contiguous cast.
@Everyone: If you haven't done so recently, please update your botting macros to match your 3rd level character.
Also, one thing we may or may not have talked about was submitting this game for Starfinder Society credit. If you guys are interested in a level 1-2 chronicle sheet for the first book, I'm happy to submit it. I think I need 3 people to be on board though before the system takes it though.
If you do want SFS credit, drop in the details for the character you want it assigned to:
1. Player Name for the chronicle
2. Character Name
3. Class and Level
4. SFS# (and dash)
5. Which faction will you be championing?
6. Day job Roll (if any)

Sure, that'd be cool!
1) Losonti
2) Procedure
3) Operative 1
4) 2364038-701
5) Dataphiles
6) Profession Detective: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
No no, I still want to keep playing Belmarniss. She IS great (and she'll be even GREATER when I gain access to spells like mirror image and displacement)! I was just saying that that concept slots into Dawn of Flame so well that I'm not sure what to do with it since this is Belmarniss' show, especially since I've been trying to come up with character ideas for the other APs BESIDES Solarians and pseudo-Solarians like she is.
As for SFS cred, I'm not sure...mainly because my only SFS character at the moment is Belmarniss, and she's getting SFS cred from Arcalinte Soter, my PC in GM Cellion's Dead Suns game...

I am trying to find my dwarf mechanic or vesk envoy SF characters' info, I'll get that to you as soon as I can Cellion.
GM Cellion |
Looks like there'll be enough interest. I'll wait a couple days to gather the remaining chronicle details and then generate the chronicles.
Bel, you could just assign it to a dummy character (just generate a new 70X number for it) in case you have an idea for an SFS character in the future.
Marisol Welkin |
Would I be able to hear/understand the elemental from where I am?

Yep, you definitely can.

Ordyt, Sammad and Bel - Any SFS details for your chronicles?
Once I have Ordyt's I'll start making them.

Aw dang it. I didn't find it before and then forgot to come back to it. At a live game now but I promise I'll try to that character sheet tonight.

Hey, Cellion! Mind if I do a small retcon in my next post involving Mims and the squox? :3

Depends on what you're trying to retcon, but if its something minor, please go ahead.

Who better to adopt an orphaned squox than a skittermander police officer who wasn't part of the group that ruthlessly murdered Chamas? ;)

Loot:
2x Pulsecaster rifle -- worth 20 UPBs
4x Pulsecaster pistol -- worth 100 UPBs
5x Tactical baton -- worth 45 UPBs
1x Cestus battleglove -- worth 10 UPBs
5x Second skin armor -- worth 125 UPBs
4x Medpatches -- keep?
350 UPBs
400 Credits in various credsticks
300 Credits in the Credit File
This nets us: 650 in UPBs and 700 in credits. That is 270 credits or UPBs each, plus the 1000 credits we get in the morning for funding the effort.
Speak up if you want one of the items listed above that I have assumed we would sell/break down to UPB's.
Flint is planning to buy some Med Serums with his credits. Does anyone know if there is a way to make his Solarin burst powers non-lethal?
Star-Knight Belmarniss Rycast |
Hmm...I'd have enough to afford that Mindlink Circlet with this (since I have 888 creds already), but is that a good idea now, or is there something else that would be more prudent at this time?

You had spoken about a personal upgrade before. Those should be 1400 credits.

Right...that's one or the other...I hate being indecisive.

Ordyt 100% wants one of the pulsecaster pistols. There's a surprisingly small number of nonlethal weapons available.

Sounds good. 5 credits off from everyone and the pulsecaster pistol is yours, Ordyt!
