You free an ally from restraint. If the trigger was an ally taking damage, the ally gains resistance to all damage against the triggering damage equal to 2 + your level (=18). The ally can attempt to break free of effects grabbing, restraining, immobilizing, or paralyzing them. They either attempt a new save against one such effect that allows a save, or attempt to Escape from one effect as a free action. If they can move, the ally can Step as a free action, even if they didn’t need to escape.[/ spoiler]

The officials begin to escort you from the floor to where most of the guild’s gladiators are waiting. These fighters also cheer you on, happy to end Bshez’s lethal policies. However, this leaves the Gladiators’ Guild without a leader. They look a bit confused an lost.

Athough it's Dak who lands the killing blow, Kelvin puts a foot on Bshez's corpse and lets out a bestial roar for the crowd. He was the first to tangle with the old leader, and was a proud thorn in her side throughout the fight.

He twirls Ogogoro's Pride, then runs towards to crowd to further amp them up. His voice still booming with adrenaline-fueled rage, the dwarf begins shouting his own name. "KELVIN! CRAGHORN! KELVIN! CRAGHORN! KELVIN! CRAGHORN!"

Kelvin punctuates the shouted triplet by slamming the butt of his spear against the ground, making the weapon release a peal of thunder as it crackles with electricity. "YOU FOLLOW ME NOW!"

Kelvin swoops all around the Arena, claiming his well-deserved victory as the crowd cheers. It gets incredibly worked up with each pass as the crowd follows his passes with a traditional wave as they swoop up and down.

The fighters behind the scenes seem nervous, unsure what policies the new leader of the Gladiator's Guild will hold over them. The quorum of gladiators slowly escort you out of the arena to speak further as they strip and clean Bshez body. "Please, take these weapons. You have earned them as the new leader." With his rage having subsided, the now slightly more level-headed dwarf lands and stands in the middle of the arena. He waves his hands in a gesture to silence the crowd, and when their voices subside he begins to speak.

"My friends and I hail from the Rainbow Citadel, our hearth and home in the country of Isger, high in the northwestern part of the Five Kings Mountains. We have seen many lands, battled many monsters, and yes... drank all of the beer!"

Kelvin lets his little joke linger for a bit before he continues. "What that has meant though is that we've learned to deliver the best entertainment possible. We grew from each fight, learning our foes and honing our skills like a good warrior should."

"And so, going forward, we will develop our fighters! We will not let their skills languish as they are thrown to the wolves. They will practice, sparring regularly to make sure they are the best fighters across all of Golarion! All here to entertain you!"

"And, as a special privilege, you will be able to come and see their practice matches! These will be opportunities for you to meet the warriors themselves, ask questions, and get autographs if you like! Up close and personal, like never before!"

Cabaguil spends the day working with the Carpenters guild as they become more and more impressed with his quality of craftsmanship repairing a few traveling carts for the local vendors. Success +1.

Cuthberwyn heads back to the room to speak with Satla to try and find more information on what is happening with Exavisu.

"Over the past several years, a wave of anti-slavery sentiment has washed across the Inner Sea region, spurred in large part by Absalom’s sweeping manumission of slaves. With the loss of this customer and other friendly ports, slavers have struggled to find new clients. The Pactmasters’ commitment to promoting all trade has made Katapesh a bastion of slave trading, overseen in large part by the Fleshmonger Federation and the Scarlet Triad."

"But for all its support of slavery and other nefarious trades, Katapesh maintains several protections to ensure slavers don’t upset the city’s safety and commerce. While any slave brought into the city retains slave status (ensuring slavers’ inventory is safe from abolitionists), no free person can be enslaved within the city’s jurisdiction except by the sentencing of city’s magistrates (preventing slavers from threatening legitimate customers and merchants). Just because slavery’s legal, though, doesn’t make it popular. For decades, abolitionists have performed operations in Katapesh, intermittently raiding stockades and the Slave Block, where public auctions occur. In response, the city’s guards—the Zephyr Guard—maintain tight security in the area"

"Thanks to its favored position with the Pactmasters, the Scarlet Triad has quietly used its private guards and slave-trading network to eliminate political rivals over the last few months. The leader of the Jewelers’ Guild, Exavisu Kerndallion, is their highest-profile victim yet, having been ambushed and enslaved by Scarlet Triad operatives miles outside the city while on business. By the time these agents returned to the city with their prey, the Scarlet Triad already had meticulous ownership documentation prepared."

". Hoping to secure needed funds, the organization has arranged her sale at a private auction that will be attended by a host of otherworldly buyers. This is incredibly short notice and will happen in just a few days." The auction will happen on the 15th day.

"Due to the Scarlet Triad’s protected status and Katapesh’s historic disdain for freedom fighters, kicking in the door and fighting every foe in sight is very unwise. Instead, I suggests you perform a more subtle rescue, in the form of a heist." She holds her finger up excitedly.

@Cuthberwyn- you still have your day ahead of you if you want to try and help influence or begin working on this heist.

The bakers and butchers spend the day arguing with Raspar and Dori. "Blackberries! No birds." Though they can't seem to get through to the pair. Crit Fail so -1 INfluence to the Bakers Guild.

Dakapos spends most of the day mixing a few more mutagens and potions. He manages to get a couple extra in as he waters the contents down ever so slightly. Success.

Cuthberwyn begins to work on some of the legwork to make the infiltration easier. I will count the first action you did here as the first half of your day to seek out rumors of Exavisu’s status and location.

Kelvin spends several hours scouting the estate and finds several weak points in its security. This earns 1 Edge Point. Will let you know what this does in the next stage of this heist.

Meanwhile Cuthberwyn begins to make Zephyr Guard disguises for the pair to be able to sneak into the estate a little easier. This earns 1 Edge Point. Will let you know what this does in the next stage of this heist.

As the group awakens on the 11th day Raspar finally figures out how to fold the cheese as he impresses and shows the Bakers a new trick before walking away from a few boiling pots. 2 successes for a crit success.

  • Cabaguil learns that while nobody knows where Exavisu Kerndallion and her enslaved colleagues are, a private auction has been scheduled for the evening of 15 Neth, to be held at the Bhetshamtal Estate in Katapesh’s Inner City. Invitations are nearly impossible to come by, and the audience is expected to include a large number of extraplanar bidders. Exavisu is among the slaves up for sale. Shipments into and out of the estate suggest preparations are already underway for the exclusive event, and the slaves are likely being kept off-site until the event begins.

The rest of the day proves unfruitful for Cabaguil and Cuthberwyn as little by little they begin to attract unwanted attention with their inquisitions.
