Faerin Cordova |
"We definitely don't intend to reward making the right decision with sacrifice. If it's possible to keep him form her or take him out first we will, and your getting us in will be a big part of that." Faerin says solemnly.
Looking around at her companions she takes a deep breath. "Alright, we should move. I'm sure things are about to get interesting up front any moment now."
Regongar Stormborn |
"I think if I put a sphere of wind around him as soon as possible, it will hopefully knock him right down, but it should severely limit bow fire in any case. Then hopefully we can pepper him with magic missiles while someone heavy handed gets in place to finish it."
Faerin Cordova |
"That sounds good. Anything that can keep him isolated or occupied for a bit and allows us to focus on him will be important. Does the stag lord prefer to fight up close or with a bow or something ranged?" she asks turning to their defector.
Galahad0430 |
Ok, so big fight coming, wanted to make sure everyone is back first. Also, I was sick all weekend.
Akiros can escort you though the outbuildings to the courtyard. He leads you to a side area on the North side of the stables. From here you can see the front of the main house, behind you is a low stone wall that overlooks a cliff giving a stunning view of the area Southeast of the fort all the way to the lake.
You easily hear the commotion at the gate as Kressle announces herself. A few seconds later you see a runner go into the main house. You also hear the arguing of Kressle with the guards approaching your area.
As Kressle's group comes into view, a large man, wearing a helm made from a massive stag skull that completely obscures his face, comes out of the main house.
Stag Lord:
"What in hells is going on!" He shouts.
"Why are you disturbing me this early!?" (it's actually like 11 AM).
Kressle:
"It's me, Kressle, I've come to have words with you, you drunken sot! You are a big disappointment, you were supposed to stand up to the Aldori from Restov, but when they sent their dog to harrass you, you hide in your fort drinking yourself into oblivion!"
You can tell she is furious, but also playing to the crowd.
Stag Lord:
"Kressle?" You can't see his eyes, but he seems momentarily confused, but then he straightens up and becomes visibly angry.
"You traitorous b+$+$! I'll kill you myself! How dare you come here after running away. you won't escape now!" To Arms! Kill them all!"
With that he leaps on some boxes and clambers up on a walkway that runs along the front top of the main house (about 8' up), and pulls out a massive bow.
Alright, everyone could do any minute (or more)/lvl buffs before the fight commences, but any rounds/lvl spells would have to be cast after initiative rolls. Kressle has six people with her. There are eight bandits here as well as the Stag Lord. There may be others not arrived yet. I will have the map up in a bit.
Octavia Reborn |
Sorry you were sick! Hope you're feeling better now!
Before they move to engage, Octavia casts a couple more spells on herself, including one that shrinks her down to the size of a halfling.

Octavia Reborn |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Present! I have my spells listed in my character header.
Regongar Stormborn |
Reg prepares to cast Gusting Sphere, praying it will knock down the Stag Lord and prevent the use of the damn bow
"Babe ... do you want me to levitate your little self to the height of his position, and then like rush in across the yard with you in tow? I could do that to a couple of people, hopefully not get killed in the process. hehehehehe"
Faerin Cordova |
"It looks like he prefers archery over close combat so your wind magic should definitely hinder him!" Faerin comments to Regongar as they prepare to engage.
Spells cast before combat:
Magic stone (300 rounds), Shillelagh (40 rounds)
Concoctions consumed before battle:
Ironskin +4 Nat armor AC(40 rounds), Firebelly (40 rounds)
Active effects:Magic stone (299 rounds), Shillelagh (40 rounds), Ironskin (39 rounds), Firebelly (40 rounds), Ashen path (193 rounds)
Regongar Stormborn |
"Sphere around SL
Mist around Kressle & team
and then who is the next strongest bandit?"
"If I can get another Sphere around that person, or even just move one around the battle field, the winds may knock down some people we can pounce on."
"When the time seems right, I will switch to firing Magic Missiles at the SL to wear him down."
Harrim Highhammer |
Buffs- Bull's strength, magic weapon, bless, Ironskin I will assume Divine favor falls under the "rounds per level" limitation. Since it lasts only 1 minute.
Divine favor - 2/2
magic Weapon- 0/1
Doom- 1/1
Bless- 0/1
True Strike- 1/1 (domain)
2nd level-
Bull's Strength- 0/1
Cloud of Seasickness- 1/1
Hold Person- 1/1
Ironskin- 0/1
Levitate- 1/1 (domain)
AC is 29 ATM. In order- Bless->magic weapon->Bull's Strength->Ironskin, Also note, my plan for ultimate shut down- Doom (or demoralize) into sicken, into Save or suck. As both combined provide a -4 to their saving throw.
Regongar Stormborn |
Regongar, were you able to see the map yet?
Yes sir, I'm there. What is the scale if I may ask? I may just barely be in range ... and warning taken re impairing Kressle's visibility
Galahad0430 |
Everyone bursts into action.
The Stag Lord appears to activate some spell effect.
Kressle moves up to the first bandit and takes a swing:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
damage: 5d6 + 24 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 4, 5) + 24 = 45
She splits his head almost in two with her handaxe!
Two of her gang move up to the other bandit with a shield and flank him.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 6) + 3 = 16
One of them hits, but the bandit does not go down.
One of the bandits (R1) steps back and shoots at one of Kressle's archers.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 6, 1) + 3 = 14
The arrow strikes true, but fails to drop him.
Pyros, you're up. Kressle opened this up with a bang!
Regongar Stormborn |
Can everyone see the names on the figures now?
No sir, labels only applied to the 6PCs for me. I will try completely restarting Chrome in addition to everything else in just a sec.
Regongar Stormborn |
CONFIRMED ... and after looking at this, it occurs to me that the Gusting Sphere bullrush could potentially knock the Stag Lord off of that damn ledge. How cool would THAT be? If he broke his neck and saved us all a LOT of trouble.
"I call dibs on frying those f*c*ing antlers ..."
"Akiros, is he like drunk already or what!?!?"
Pyros Aldori |
Yes, sorry. I'll use my Arcane pool to add +1 to my dueling sword, but that's it for buffs.
Pyros dashes forward and takes a slash at the wolf.
Attack: 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 2 + 1 = 21
Damage, Magical Slashing: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Charge, so -2 to my AC for this turn.
Galahad0430 |
Pyros cuts down the wolf before it even gets to react.
I have not heard from Valerie and she hasn't responded to IM either.
Valerie charges the nearest bandit.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The next grouping of enemies and NPCs are essentially fighting each other. I moved them to their new positions.
Regongar and Faerin are up!
Regongar Stormborn |
for clarity, Pyros should be labeled 'under ledge' also, correct?
GM - ruling please on the emanation of the sphere itself?
https://aonprd.com/SpellDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Gusting%20Sphere
My intension is to summon it directly in the square the SL is currently occupying, but re-reading the spell desc, it could be that the sphere emanates from me and needs to move across the space between; lmk which of those you think
Faerin Cordova |
Assessing the situation as she takes in the battlefield, Faerin begins a druidic chant, calling upon pure elemental fire as a dancing flame erupts into the palm of her hand.
Cast Produce Flame, Duration 4 mins(400 rounds)
Faerin Cordova |
She's highly motivated. Might be a position in it for her when this is all over
Regongar Stormborn |
I don't know... so far no one is one upping Kressle :)
I'm not sure if it's like the fantasy gaming version of slut-shaming, but I think Reg feels orc-shamed, like, he's being out orced by some angry girl from the Valley. Hope the SL gets knocked off that ledge ...
Octavia Reborn |
Octavia casts obscuring mist, surrounding herself with a 40' diameter cloud of white fog, and then she moves closer to their enemies within it.
