Well, I have Good Vibrations about this hall. I know I got The Executioner on the back -up and this funky bunch to help me.

I mean, there's lots of stories where natural caverns suddenly turn into worked stone. I mean, worst case scenario is we run into a flying quasit with magical spells. I heard of something like that while traveling Varisia.

Shayn crosses her arms behind her back and walk with the others. She felt there was something else going on besides Tartuccio's treachery, but she couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was. She stays towards the middle/end of the group, reckoning the others were much more capable martially.

"That sounds likely. So far, his actions all seem geared toward manipulating different groups to go at each other for his benefit." Faerin says as they move forward into the cavern. "It's likely that whatever he's after, it will be easier for him with both the kobolds and mites out of the way."

You begin exploring the tunnels. If the mine was old, these tunnels are ancient. After a few minutes you turn a corner and find a shrine to Shelyn. It has a few pews facing a statue of the goddess. The railings are carven stone with intricate rose vines engraved along them. The workmanship is masterful. The entire area is covered with centuries of dust.

Perception checks, if you have any bonuses for stonework, you can addthem.

Pyros is able to find a hidden cache in the base of the statue. The statue is refined and just above the hidden compartment is an inscription that says "For our goddess, Shelyn, whose gifts we yearn for, here in the darkness."

Inside the compartment you find several potions and scrolls, 240 gp, and a wand.

"Wel that definitely wasn't left here by either the kobold or the mites. Based on the stonework and the beauty of it, I'd venture a guess that maybe dwarves once inhabited these caverns." Faerin says quietly as she looks over the items, passing them around to the other spellcasters as well.

No... I'm not thinking this is Dwarven. Dwarves aren't all lovey-dovey with Sheyln. She's totally cool and down with the DC (Dwarven Community), but maybe this is Halfling craftsmanship!
But, onto more important things. What does this wand do?
Being that it's Sheyln and her temple, maybe the wand rhymes with the words.... Sage Farmer? Or Maybe Keeper Barkness? OHHH! OOH!! The wand almost certainly rhymes with Tragic Whistle.

Linzi hopes that her hints give the others inspiration on knowing what the wand magically does.

Again, use Inspire Competence. +2 to spellcraft check.
She then writes a little song on paper and leaves it on the alter for her goddess.
Sheyln loves you, and you, and you, and you. We can go onward now.
Linzi points towards Ekun, Pyros, Shayn and Faerin. She then preps to move third in line as the party moves on from this shrine.

"The stonework is definitely masterful, though I agree it doesn't make sense for dwarven work despite the skill." Faerin says taking it in. "Gnomes might make sense I suppose."

So that would be a 21 for the Spellcraft check on the wand

With his sword sheathed Ekun ignites another torch to help him see underground. "There are so many tunnels, we could get lost down here." He begins to feel quite claustrophobic as his mind panics briefly. "Those kobolds were no help in letting us know where to go. How far do we go down here?"

There is only one way to go from the shrine, as the tunnel continues to wind in a generally Northerly direction. You only go a very short distance when you hear the sound of clinking armor up ahead. You also hear a low moaning that causes the hair on the back of your necks to rise. Almost immediately, a group of men in ancient armor round a bend in the tunnel. At first glance, the seem to be normal men at arms, but as the light reveals their faces, you see weathered skulls with empty eye sockets instead of faces.

Skeletons: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

With that Harrim steps up with Pyros and attacks the same skeleton.

Cold resistant, huh? Well, that's uncalled for. My misfortune, however, should be theirs. - says the witch, immediately gazing at one of the enemies in melee and cursing them with her Misfortune hex.

Linzi might do something else action wise, but all my spells are mind affecting. She has a Cure Light Wounds prepped just in case someone takes a nasty gash. She sees Harim bleeding just a slight bit, and wants to wait just a bit longer.
