Emilio-BOT:

...but only his first blow lands, causing a great gout of haemolymph to stray up from the overgrown insect.

Cottar-BOT:

Cottar then attempts to strike it as well...

Rapier: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage.

...his first blow popping it like a blood-filled boil, whilst the second grievously wounds (but does not drop) the ugly blue man.

Beltch-BOT:

Beltch then backs up, and directs a gout of flame at the two blue humanoids in front of him...

Burning Hands: 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5) + 1 + 1 = 11.

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17.
Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23.

------------------------

Pressing deeper into the cavern, you find a group of 11 non-combatant little blue humanoids (the weak, the old, and the lame), who beg for their lives in broken Common.

They claim that their leader, Gwibble, pushed them into pretending to be the Mosquito Witch, but they are now frightened the ruse has turned on them and that the real Mosquito Witch is angry — not to mention the very real issue of angry adventurers at their doorstep!

They are adamant that the Mosquito Witch is real, and that they have seen her glowing red eyes in the darkness and heard the buzzing of her wings in the forest at night. They believed at first that by helping spread fear of the Mosquito Witch, she would spare them from her wrath, but now they’re not as sure...

What would you like to do?

Chomping on the remainder of the pickle, he mulls over the situation. "Well, these little buggers don't seem to be much of a threat. But it sounds like we have a real witch to now find. Are there any more tidbits of info you blue folk can tell us? Any idea where we might concentrate a search?"

Sovereign Court

Alright, so, the consensus seems to be that you *aren't* going to kill them / evict them...

The ugly blue creatures explain that they moved into the area some time ago, but when they found a source of iron in the area, they panicked - cold iron is anathema to them, and they didn't want a mine opening up in their neighborhood. Consequently, they used their control over vermin to pose as the Mosquito Witch and frighten villagers...

However, they weren't responsible for *everything* that has happened.

For example, they had nothing to do with the carriage crash, Andor's disease, or any of the mysterious sweet-smelling paper dolls, and the more of these things that you mention, the more terrified that they become, increasingly worried that the Mosquito Witch is real, that she’s near, and that she will kill them for impersonating her.

In exchange for their lives, they piteously offer all of their treasure, which consists of 17 copper pieces, a wolf fang talisman, and a variety of nearly worthless scraps of metal and cloth.

Which, somehow, still counts as three treasure bundles!

------------------------

Defeating Gwibble and the mitflits ends the slough of attacks on Shimmerford, though the villagers are slow to return in the wake of the insect plague.

Haru (and Peaches!) thank you sincerely for rescuing them, but quickly depart to continue trying to find their friend Lasarte.

Coda:

You later hear that a few days after you defeated Gwibble and his mitflit warriors, the entire mitflit compound collapses in a freak cave-in, killing all the remaining mitflits.

A small and intricate paper doll found in the mud nearby, being the only clue. Whether this is the doing of the Mosquito Witch or another force seeking revenge on the mitflits remains a mystery...

That is a wrap, folks! Thanks for your patience. I'll send chronicles out tonight, when I get back from work (local time).

He raises his voice menacingly, not something he does frequently... and lucky for him they've already done it.
