Just a reminder, I am on vacation as of tomorrow. I will have access to internet Saturday, Sunday, most of Monday and maybe Wednesday. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday I won't. I will be back home on October 5th to continue with normal posting.
The 'enjoyment' of a cruise up the Eastern US and Canada is definitely needed.

I hope you two have fun, and get some time to RELAX! :D

GMAFlashinTime |

Since it's the weekend and Jagrur is already away on a cruise, I'll give it one more day for Choppy to make his actions in round 7. Then onto round 8!

![]() |

Just as a note, I'm going to be traveling most of the day on Tuesday, but I will post when I can.

![]() |

I just posted....and might be able to do one more today. Then had until Saturday afternoonish.

Mazel tov!
Separately, due to an unexpected technical failure, I am currently without a working computer and am having problems posting from my phone. Please feel free to bot me. I should be back home within the next 24 hours and also back to a real computer then as well.
Sorry, and in the interim, I can give any of you my coin reroll with a +4 if you need it for something.

Choppy.....Congratulations! Hope everything went well.
And finally made it home...will be able to actually think and post as of tomorrow. Tonight I need to do some vegging out and probably sleep. Flight was exhausting. Thanks for botting me as needed.

Since it looks like a majority (3/5) of our players are out of commission temporarily, I'll hold off on trying to push things forward for another day (or two if needed).

So even though the only two times chef/cook comes up in the rules, it uses either profession (cook) or life science...the scenario doesn't use the latter? Some part of me is not surprised :P

![]() |

Thank you for catching that, GM ;)
Although, had we been playing this part in November, I would have made a comment about Oz not wanting to look like a turkey in front of the home audience. It would have been the turducken of pbp posts :P

Is there a check to make to know if meat/ingredients will spoil in the current environment? And/or if the other team can poach our kills?

Oz, that would be a survival check. You recall hearing Lethea say you'll receive a list of ingredients at the beginning of the cooking part of the competition but that you're responsible for bringing and preparing the meat. The other team also can't steal your kills, although with the kitchens right next to each other there will probably be opportunities for some kind of mischief.

I just wanted to say that Oz might be whining and grumpy as all hades, but I'm having fun with this scenario, GM, and fellow players! :)

Hi everyone! While we have one encounter to go, the game day is (officially) wrapping up at the end of the week. As such, we've been advised to go ahead and report scenarios, even those (like ours) that aren't officially done.
As such, I need you to do two things:
1) Double check the information for you below is accurate
2) Roll a 1d20 for a special boon prize!
After everyone confirms their information (or if I don't hear back in two days) I'll go ahead and report the info. I'll go ahead and hold off on filling out chronicle sheets until the actual end of the scenario because things like money can still change.
Thanks!
PC Name / Character Name / Character # / Faction / Level (everybody's at the lower subtier)
Farol / Croaker / 2359780-703 / Acquisitives / 2
Revvy Bitterleaf / Charlie-X / 13475-708 / Second Seekers Jadnura / 1
Jim Crase / Jagrur Cragsteam / 56565-707 / Dataphiles / 2
CanisDirus / Oz / 801-710 / Second Seekers Jadnura / 2
Uwilnvrkno / Choppy 703 / 266747-703 / Dataphiles / 1

All good here, and yay Farol!!!
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Charlie, I looked but I can't find any rules for boot clamps other than them giving you a +4 to the check to not become off kilter when something runs into you (because you're anchored via the clamps). I'll investigate further, but there doesn't appear to be anything in either the armor section or the zero gravity section. Or in past FAQs and forum posts I've checked.
I found another piece of (for me previously) hidden info:
(page 196; armor section)the boots include a functionality that can anchor your feet to a solid surface in a zero-gravity environment, allowing you to orient yourself or return to normal footing when needed.
Which again doesn't specify what it does mechanically, which is a shame.
I think the intention is to make sure you are on normal footing after/during movement since that's when you'd be needing it.
But it doesn't actually say how you are supposed to orient or return to normal footing.
It does mention; A creature that moves in a given direction continues to move in that direction at the same speed at the beginning of its turn each round (without taking any action); it must move the full distance unless it is able to change its motion by latching on to an object or creature.
I think the boots allow you to latch onto the floor/wall in that case?
So I think..move, make the acrobatics or athletics check to not be off-kilter, stick to the floor and next round don't float off?
Or maybe it's just to keep your hands free when you need to:
An off-kilter creature in a zerogravity environment can steady itself as a move action that requires a surface to grab on to

GMAFlashinTime |

Right, the frustrating thing is - like you said - there's not a specific mechanical function for them that's spelled out other than in the zero gravity section.
One could interpret "allowing you to return to normal footing when needed" as being the actual move action used to become not off-kilter. But if that's the case (and they require a move action to (de)activate) then they're a backup, at best, for tactical movement because you'd spend half your turn turning them on and off and have to spend every other turn floating anyway. (Turn 1: Deactivate, float forward. Turn 2: Float forward, activate. Turn 3: Deactivate, etc.)
On the other hand, since it doesn't specifically state requiring an action to activate or deactivate, one could also interpret you being able to activate and release them essentially as a free action, potentially allowing you to "walk" (probably at half speed) in a zero-g environment. But if this is the case, why wouldn't the Core Rulebook mention "boot clamp walking" as an option in either the zero-g or armor section, like it does for "anchor(ing) your feet to a solid surface"?
Unfortunately I think there's going to be table variation any way we go. For the purposes of this encounter, would saying that you can use boot clamps as a move action to stop any floating movement (assuming you're adjacent to a solid surface) and/or to end the off-kilter condition (and deactivate them as a free action to begin movement) work?

Ok I got the boon, and I must say I love it! It is called possessed augmentation, which gives you freehand or leg augmentation (in place of a lost one) with a -1 penalty due to some spirit possessing that limb. You need to fulfill a task to convince the spirit to play nice by you and then you get a +1 bonus to stuff.
I am loving the RP aspect of that boon. I am so hyped by that...
The only issue that I have is that my melee PC is a kasatha with 4 hands, so one task of not using hand for a scenario is not that big of a challenge.

![]() |

You can always start a new one just for the boon ;)
There's plenty of new options to COMe after all.Or loose a leg?
I will block all incoming melee attacks with my leg ;) Sounds like a plan. Eventually, I will pick up a hobby of playing with explosives, then it is a matter of time. But knowing my luck I will lose my tail first LOL

I put it on my augmented nuar technomancer...he is close to 60% augmented at this point (still have a flesh arm, and some of his chest and face left)...goal is to have ALL slots filled with cyber, hybrid or biotech before level 10. And yes, I know it is tough to get it as nuar is a personal augment...but there is a way (if you have the right faction....).

I'm going to be running around a bit nuts for the next 10 hours or so and posting in game from my phone is difficult. Feel free to bot me to keep the game moving. Sorry.
