Laara's arrow sticks in the spiders leg, but is shaken out as it crawls forward in response. Clinging to the side of the stone bridge, it flexes its back and launches thick barbs back in return. The pain of its injuries cause them to fly wide of the mark however.

Laara
|
Laara kicks a one of the dead purple-skinned creatures as the rest of the party nonchalantly passes her and continues on over the bridge. She calls out Uh, hey. These look like drow. Like from the children's stories.
Was I the only one who wasn't told drow were real? Because you all are acting remarkably calm about this
| Grandmaster TOZ |
As you make your way through Round Mountain, you see that the remaining astral invaders are being matched by your fellow Pathfinders. While you could pile on and crush them further, reports from the inner ruins of the tapestry suggest the undead are more numerous than the teams engaging them.
Y'all finished up all the encounters here, so I will move you on to the undead fights next.
Deno'thar

Deno’thar addresses Laara,” I know drow are rare but they certainly exist and have been chronicled about.... who told you otherwise?”
Ammensura Ibn Jad

Ammen gives a little shrug. The drow are rare and little known but hardly a myth. As with many such claims there is often a grain of truth at the heart of them.
As they enter the next area Ammen again activayes his wand of heightened awareness and recasts shield of faith.
Ajax Arrowhawk

Ajax sighs as he can't help but feel the gods conspired against him and his preparedness. "Well done, Ara."" Ajax rubs Ara's chin as she approaches. The ranger can't help but chuckle at Laara, half-wondering if it's all a gag.
If his hour buffs have not expired by the time we reach the next destination, he replenishes them.
"Undead? I guess it's show-time for Flynn."
| Grandmaster TOZ |
As you walk the tapestry bridge you realize the ruins are near the Muckmouth tribe territory. Aram Zey's voice reverberates along the threads composing the dimensional bridge. “The undead are strongest in the tapestry’s ancient ruins. Cut this problem off at its source.” Exiting into the battlefield, you see a multitude of undead tearing themselves out of the ground and structures of the tapestry as if they were ripping off burial cloth. Pathfinder teams cut down lesser undead left and right, allowing you to make your way further into the ruins, where stronger undead lurk.

Deno'Thar recognizes the smaller undead to be a baykok, an undead archer with the ability to devour the souls of the dying to gain power and prevent the return of the dead via raise dead. The larger undead is a devourer, another soul devourer that uses consumed souls to power spell-like abilities.
As Aericus moves in, the archer launches a flurry of arrows at Flyn! Caught off guard, each arrow strikes true. Flyn feels a numbness around the wounds as negative energy corrupts his flesh. One Fort save from Flyn. The devourer turns toward Aericus, but not fast enough to strike.

Melee Touch on Aericus: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Parry: 1d20 ⇒ 18
The devourer twists in air, assaulted from all sides, but still reaches for Aericus blindly. The massive hand is easily swatted away, leaving the undead unable to strike.

Flyn, more annoyed than hurt this time, mutters, ”Bastards seem to really like me here, my first visit must’ve made an impression,” as he launches another barrage of blunt arrows the yellow archer’s way...if it drops beforehand, switch targets to the big undead dude...
”Back to hell you go!”

Figuring my iterative shot missed, should be 111 damage total. Hope there aren’t any more of those bastard undead archers lurking around...not as pleasant when I’m on the receiving end! ;)
AC28 for next round.

Deno'thar agrees with Flynn,” Clearly you made some sort of impression, they’re even copying you... "
He then moves up, maintains his performance and prepares to switch his performance to a discordant strike if the creature begins to cast a spell.
