Does that mean that we don't have to attend the current mass discussion and the first entry mission? I prefer to play in smaller groups, because that makes interaction so much easier

Not every PC will going on this mission or any of the others. This is just a meeting with the 'big boss' wherein the PCs are being briefed on their first job.

So recruitment is still up for this then? How much are we expected to know about the setting?
