Dale the Sage wrote:do you expect us to finish for gameday?FYI: I just received an email that, due to delays between Paizo and the Gameday VIII Organizers, the Gameday VIII convention is being pushed back. All games will now start on Monday September 9th.
I see us being far enough along (if not done by then) to at least issue chronicles. So your characters could participate in Gameday VIII, we'd just wrap up the rest of the roleplaying if that is still needed.
Ahh, sounds like they aren't getting the scenarios dropped on time. Guess it'll work out for Dale getting another 2 weeks to finish this up.
Thanks

Yeah, it's a bummer; glad something good is coming of it though :-)

We'll finish. I wanted to allow others the opportunity to be involved, instead of just you and I wrapping up the scenario in the span of an hour.
Thorur Grundur |
Thorur has been pretty useless due to a lack of skills, so he has been standing there quietly observing the exchange back and forth.

Ok that's fine, sorry I just wasn't aware. Dale is a know it all but I'm fine with taking a back seat for the remainder.
GM.BastardBard |
Answering this question pretty much settles the whole thing. We can wrap today/tomorrow and have chronicles by Friday at the latest.
GM.BastardBard |
Also, it appears that no one voiced a concern about it. So if Dale or anyone answers we begin our conclusion stuff.
GM.BastardBard |
Chronicles are completed. I will not have access to upload them until later tonight. But you will have them soon.

Chronicle looks good - thanks for running!
Arion Duvamil |
Thanks for the game GM! And everyone else! I enjoyed it. I apologise for my several absences.
This chronicle sheet appears to refer to a boon from another chronicle sheet. Are there other scenarios that involve Tanbaru?
Vlazis 'The Beloved' Chibuzo |
Without getting too far into spoiler territory - yes.
Thorur Grundur |
Chronicle looks good. Just one quick question: is the Jiraku's Respect only the one time use? I assume if you have to check it off it is, but I would like the official word, if possible.
Vlazis 'The Beloved' Chibuzo |
The SLA is one time use, but the boon remains (likely in case some future Chronicle makes use of it...)

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
If anyone is interested in the text of the boons and loot in that chronicle for their profile it is below.
Hikori (14,020g)
Oil of barkskin (CL6th; 600g, limit 1)
Oil of enlarge person (CL5th, 250g, limit 1)
Oil of jump (CL5th; 250g, limit 1)
Scroll of expeditious retreat (CL5th, 125g, limit 1)
Coiled Companion: You have recovered a rare serpent's egg, reared the reptile, and trained it as a guardian. If you have hunter's bond, nature bond, or similar feature that allows you to select an animal companion, you may select either a cinder asp (using the viper snake statistics) or a razor-scale python (using the constrictor snake statistics) as your companion; you must be able to select a constrictor or viper as a companion in order to train its respective variant. If the companion is released or dies without your restoring it to life, cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet.
Cinder Asp: Change the stnake's poison effect to 1d2 Constitution and its cure to 2 saves. In place of granting the snake a bonus trick, you can instead increase the snake's effective Hit Dice by 1 for the purpose of calculating the saving throw DC of its poison.
Razor-Scale Python: The snake's constrict damage is (1d4 plus 1d2 bleed). In place of granting the snake a bonus trick, you can instead increase the snake's effective druid level by 1 for the purpose of calculating its nature armor bonus according to Table 3-8 (Core Rulebook 52).
(0/1) Jiraku's Respect: You have helped the dosojin kami Jiraku restore her faith in her stewardship of the Pilgrim's Path. She gifts you with a portion of her power as a blessing. By checking the box that precedes this boon, you may use one of the following spell-like abilities. Use your character level as the caster level, and use either your own Charisma or 17 (whichever is higher) for determining any saving throw DCs.
Subtier 3-4: You may cast invisibility, longstrider, stone shape, or wind wall.
Kami Reunited: Even if their ward is forever broken in two, you have brought the two kami wardens together once more and received their blessing. You may benefit from this boon only if you have both the Jiraku's Respect and Tanbaru's Respect boons, and you may not select Tanbaru as a familiar unless you choose to cross out this boon. You gain a +2 bonus on Charisma-based skill checks to influence kami and oni and on saving throws to resist their spells and other abilities. Once per adventure as a swift action, you may activate one of the following abilities.
Jiraku's Eternal Path: Until the beginning of your next turn, you may move through up to 10 feet of difficult terrain as if it were normal terrain; this effect stacks with the benefits of the Acrobatic Steps and Nimble Steps feats. During this time, you also gain a +3 bonus on saving throws against any effect that would directly impeded your movement, such as entangle or slow. When this effect ends, you regain 1d8+5 hit points.
Tanbaru's Insight: For the next 10 minutes, you gain a +2 insight bonus on Perception checks and the ability to cast detect magic at will as a spell like ability. When this effect ends, you receive the answer to a single question as if you had cast augury (CL 6th). If you are at least 5th level, you can instead ask one question as per divination. At 7th level, you can instead ask one question as per commune.

Going back through for what we found and didn't use for consumables, Dale would like to copy the following into his formula book, taking 10 on spellcraft hits a DC21, more than enough for the level 1 and 2 spells.
Enlarge Person
Jump
Barkskin
Lesser Restoration
Spider Climb
So that's 2 level 1s at 10g each and 3 level 2s at 40g each: 140g total.
*Some of those were potions vs scrolls. Dale has the following to allow for learning spells from potions, etc.
Formula Alembic
Price 200 gp; Aura faint divination; CL 3rd; Weight 2 lbs.
This magically-augmented alchemical device distills a potion or alchemist extract into the knowledge needed to create its formula. By gently heating a potion or extract in the alembic for 1 hour, the device creates a few drops of magical liquid. If consumed by an alchemist, this liquid gives him knowledge of the potion's or extract's formula, as if it were an extract he recorded in his formula book. This knowledge lasts for 24 hours. He may scribe this formula in his formula book in the normal fashion.
Using the alembic does not harm the potion, but the process makes it nearly boiling hot (it cools normally). The alembic can only distill the knowledge of formulas on the alchemist extract list (for example, it cannot turn a potion of a cleric-only spell into something an alchemist can learn).
Construction Requirements
Cost 100 gp
Brew Potion, Craft Wondrous Item, identify, creator must be an alchemist

Oops. I had the wrong -# on my PFS line (totally my fault, GM typed what I put there). It is supposed to read 151777-5. Can I get a fix on this? Otherwise the chronicle looks good.

I have a new chronicle made for you. I can't upload it now, but I will get that up as soon as I can.
