Please use this thread to decide your characters and for any significant out-of-character discussions.

A pleasure to serve with you all.
Cwethan here!
Dale the Sage |
Level 4 mindchemist (skill/knowledge monkey and so so bomb chucker)
Do we have someone that would be looking to be the frontliner(s)? Dale is certainly not of that ilk.
GM.BastardBard |
Wonderful! This looks like solidly low-tier. I see only 5 characters reported in, so I have invited caps to join us as our 6th.
GM.BastardBard |
As well, a little info about how I intend to run the game (I could have sworn I posted this earlier, but it must not have taken):
I expect all characters to have a tagline covering at least the information given here before we begin.
As well, please have the majority of your character sheet uploaded (at least skills, saves, attack and damage bonuses with weapons).
Otherwise my expectations are mostly about having a fun time, and keeping things moving.
Things that I feel help with both of those:
Clarity - If you can be clear with what you're communicating, things will move more smoothly, allowing for more fun, and less stress.
This includes formatting "such as using text like this" (bold and quotes). Internal thoughts can be similar, but maybe italicized instead.
I love flavor text, and giving more of a description of what you're doing. But please don't bog down the gameplay thread with so much flavor that people don't want to read.
And I strongly discourage internal monologues. Quick thoughts such as "THAT was mean!" are fine, but if you are typing several sentences that no other character can hear/interact with, it doesn't do much for anyone else.
Efficiency I will roll most of the dice rolls that are appropriate, and that I can find. You are free to request and roll most social rolls, and obviously your turn in combats. (If you are subject to an effect that requires a save, I will make the save, and tell you the results. This is faster than waiting for your save, then waiting for my response)
That being said, my next point is:
Consistency - I will try to post at least once a day during the week (usually evening for me) and would like to expect the same from you. Some days I may be able to check an additional time, and would use those times to help keep things moving, but not up my expectation of anyone.
That being said, if you do not have anything to contribute to a non-combat encounter, don't feel the need to post until something comes up that you want to act on.
If given an opportunity, or your turn in combat comes up, I will bot your character (helpful to have full character sheets in profile) if you do not post within 24 hours. Some GMs may place you into delay, but that can slow down combats, and put a lot of pressure on the remaining players. If I have to bot you twice, I may continue to bot you without waiting 24 hours, until I hear from you again.
Communication - Talk with me. I'm a pretty easy-going person. I'm a real person on this side of the forum/GM Screen, I recognize that you all are too. Sometimes life comes up. Family, work, conventions. If you're gonna have trouble making time for the game for a bit: let me know. If I've botted you for a while, let me know when you're back.
If something I or one of the other players does bothers you, please let me know.
Also, I intend to run things with block initiative. So, everyone in between bad guys will be called to take their turns, and turns will be resolved in order of posting (to limit things like "oh, now that the person ahead of me moved into melee I wouldn't have made a ranged attack" and the like).
I think that's most of my stuff for now. I hope to see you all start dropping in and look forward to having fun!
Arion Duvamil |
caps here with a melee character.
Also, a busy week (M-F) starts today as I'm at a conference. Feel free to bot me as soon as everyone else acts, it's tactically convenient, or my PC can address the check at hand.
I will try to prioritize dropping into this thread when I am on the site this week.
Arion Duvamil |
Placed my avatar on the slides but cannot seem to update it with my stats from mobile. But they are in the header of all of Arion's posts.
GM.BastardBard |
My link-sharing may not have gone through properly. I got a request from someone else to access it too. So, updated the link share, and updated the link in my Tagline and for the campaign to reflect this.
Please let me know if there are any more issues.
Thorur Grundur |
I figured that cold wouldn't be an issue in a jungle/mountain region, I was just concerned with altitude sickness. A few adventures have had that as a background problem in the past. Just thought I would check and get it out of the way.
GM.BastardBard |
Also, folks! Since PF2 is coming out soon the Organized Play people will be taking a "snapshot" of PFS games played sometime in July. The more PFS games played/GMd at that point, will determine the number of scenarios people are allowed to replay in PFS1 when PF 2E launches. (More details in this blog.)
So! I'm going to report this game as soon as I get all of the information from you guys (will issue chronicles after we're done, and can still make changes to the reporting later (so don't think your characters become invincible or anything! :P)) to ensure that everyone gets credit for this game as well!

I am on vacation this week. I will be keeping up with my games off and on via RSS, but please do not hold anything up waiting for me. There should be botting instructions in my profile. Do not hesitate to use them to move things forward.
GM.BastardBard |
Thank you for the heads up, Arion.
My apologies to everyone, I'm still fighting this cold and have been "out of it" lately.
GM.BastardBard |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
As a heads up to everyone, I will be traveling to GenCon next Wednesday, and will not be back until the following Tuesday. I don't expect to be posting much, if at all, during that time.
Arion Duvamil |
Between packing tonight, traveling, and doing con related things, I will be busy with GenCon from now until Sunday. I don't expect to be caught up to speed until Monday or Tuesday.
If any of y'all will be playing organized play at GenCon and want to meet up, send me a PM! I enjoy the tables much more when playing with a friend.
I will continue to read posts through the RSS feed and may drop in for a post, but please bot me whenever it becomes necessary.
Vlazis 'The Beloved' Chibuzo |
Planning on sending up a flare for a new GM on Tuesday if we haven't heard anything.
GM.BastardBard |
Sorry for the delay folks. Had some personal issues come up immediately after GenCon and life has been a little scattered.
I will update the gameplay thread today. If the delay caused too much frustration for you and you would like to drop, please let me know.
Arion Duvamil |
I'm glad to hear you're okay, GM, though I'm sorry to hear about your personal issues.
I am ready to continue, though I would prefer we implement a Standard Operating Procedure to go through this "dungeon" a little faster.
I would propose we move as a group, in a marching order, using the rule of left. The highest perception character would take 10 and everyone else would attempt to aid them in each room.
Vlazis 'The Beloved' Chibuzo |
Sounds good to me Arion!
GM.BastardBard |
Highest Perception is Wisp with +9. I can roll the aid checks at each room, when necessary.
Arion Duvamil |
Thanks GM, that should help a lot with the pace of the game.
And no worries Dale. An SOP works like railroad tracks through the dungeon, but the characters are still supposed to get a chance to interact with each room. It just lets us focus on that instead of waiting for someone to pick a direction.
Dale the Sage |
How much more of the adventure do we have left, IE: do you expect us to finish for gameday? If not I need to tweak things as this character is signed up for a game. I just need to know to make the proper notifications is all, whichever way.
GM.BastardBard |
GM.BastardBard |
do you expect us to finish for gameday?
FYI: I just received an email that, due to delays between Paizo and the Gameday VIII Organizers, the Gameday VIII convention is being pushed back. All games will now start on Monday September 9th.
I see us being far enough along (if not done by then) to at least issue chronicles. So your characters could participate in Gameday VIII, we'd just wrap up the rest of the roleplaying if that is still needed.
