Ok... just reminding everyone that Annea can only use her healing once per day per person.
Soddy Daisy |
Don't worry Annea, Soddy's got a wand she can use if things get ugly again :)

We've almost reached the end of Chapter 1.
To enable me to complete the Chronicles, please ensure your PC's information, including Day Job rolls, on Slide 2 is correct.
For those of you who like to plan ahead, the Chronicle awards you 3xp, 4PP, and 1436gp. Please let me know if you'd like me to note anything on your Chronicle.
If anyone is using Slow advancement, please tell me now.
Soddy Daisy |
My information is correct and up-to-date, GM. Looking forward to Soddy getting a bit more powerful (and useful) as we progress :)

GM, I have played the next two parts. I don't believe I will be able to partake in the next two parts, due to have played them.

Wonderful news, friends!
We welcomed our granddaughter into the world this afternoon. Our daughter Grace gave birth to Liliana Joyce Lange, 8lbs, 7oz, 20" at 3:57pm.

Congratulations to everybody! Is that the first granddaughter? Nice and big baby
Gervase Goldhawkë |
Congratz, grandpa!
And wasn't little Liliana civilized, making her appearance mid-afternoon.
GM Lorenzo |
Second grandchild. Zack's son Benjamin is six. Liliana is Grace's first babying our first granddaughter.
Kyklónas |
Congrats!!!! Joy to you and your family!! Now, time to start working on those class levels for the kiddo!
GM Lorenzo |
Kyklónas, help me understand your kinetic blast.
"[K]inetic blasts always deal full damage to swarms of any size (though only area blasts deal extra damage to swarms)."
I'm not clear about whether your blast is an area blast.
Kyklónas |
There are infusions that make my blast into an AoE. Regular blasts aren't, so falls under the normal damage.
Kyklónas |
Did I not crit??? Cries in Gnomish
Annea Clivana |
Sorry Everyone. I picked up a nasty bug this past weekend in Bulgaria and have been down for the past couple of days.
GM Lorenzo |
I reviewed the rules, and I want to share what I found. A useful exercise in a very complicated gaming system. (Developers claim PF2 will make things much simpler, right?)
*cynical cough*
Throw Splash Weapon Aiming and missing the SW corner of the Large-sized swarm, a d8 is rolled to determine where the splash weapon landed. A 1 indicates it fell short (off-target in a straight line toward the thrower).
So, I'm going to rule that it lands between Gervase and the swarm. Both suffer splash damage.
Gervase takes 1 acid damage. The splash hits the swarm in two of its squares for 2 acid damage. The swarm suffers 50% more damage from the area effect weapon, so 3 total acid damage, bringing it to 0hp. Not enough to kill it, but enough to cause the surviving spiders to disperse.
If I've overlooked something, please let me know. I appreciate being reminded/corrected, and my feelings won't be hurt.
Gervase Goldhawkë |
No problems from me, Boss :)
After reading over the rules I agree with you.
Not sure where I got the 1 = north is a miss from. But I have always played it that way in PbP on the Paizo boards.
I guess I picked it up from one of my early PbP GMs/fellow players, who (like me) may not have realized there was already a rule that covered this situation.
Kyklónas |
.... do I have the best, or tied, for best AC? I feel bad now that Im not in front. Which is why I am going to switch into Kinetic Knight...
GM Lorenzo |
Bellisir, do you have a readied action in mind?
PFS PbP Tip: Readied Actions
It expedites play to post your readied actions, specify the trigger, and make any necessary die roll(s).
For example, you can pre-roll a readied attack and damage with an appropriate trigger.
[dice=Readied Attack (Trigger: when the centipede is within my reach) Unarmed Strike; Damage ]d20+ 3;d6+3 [ /dice]
(Deleting the unnecessary spaces in the formatted example, of course)
Bellisir Reycyne |
I wasn't even thinking of readied actions when I did that. I just knew I couldn't get close enough to attack this round.
Bellisir will ready an action to attack any of the remaining bugs that enter into a square adjacent to him.
Readied Attack(Trigger: when the centipede is withing reach), Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Annea Clivana |
GM Lorenzo- Annea should be behind Soddy by a square or two. I am unable to change her placement on the map. It might be a problem with my mobile device. Should be 20 feet away when I make the dart attack.

Soddy Daisy |
I see Bellisir went ahead and did the thing but Quinn *did* post earlier that he would open the door when everyone was ready ;)
Soddy Daisy |
Oh, most definitely!
I have a bit of a jokey, smarta** streak. I don't showcase it via text-based medium much due to the increased chance of misunderstandings and unintentionally offending someone or hurting their feelings, the latter of which has happened before.
But today it got away from me a little bit, heh.
GM Lorenzo |
Kristin,
I sent out an invitation to everyone you suggested, inviting them to stop by the Discussion thread and let us know if they're interested.
The only person I couldn't find was 'supervillian'. If you have a more accurate user name for him or her, please let me know.
Soddy Daisy |
^It's actually supervillan without the extra 'i'. Sorry, I should have thought to specify that!
GM Lorenzo |
Sent it. (Autocorrect must have been 'fixing' it for me.)
Let's keep our fingers crossed, though 5 PCs should be doable.

Howdy, I saw tell that you were looking for a 6th.
I've already played this set, but I am always game to game with this set of people.
However, given that I've played this and Gameday is right around the corner if this would be someone else who is interested's first time with the material I would be willing to bow out.
That said I have a couple characters I would be willing to trot out:
Ser Oakley of Ivy District Hedge Maze Park (Vine Leshy Cavalier 2, currently rides a topiary reindeer)
Jax El'ric - the man with the Golden Arm (Jistkan Artificer Magus 3)

Looks like supervillan hasn't played it and would like to join us with a vine leshy, Boom Sticks, a savage technologist barbarian 1 / gunslinger 1.
Soddy Daisy |
Leshy friend(s) :D
(I need to run another all-leshy game sometime...)
GM Lorenzo |
Yeah, I remember my own leshy vigilante Tacca 'the Black Orchid' playing alongside his buddy 'Boom-Boom' in your all-leshy game. Tons of fun!
(I'm planning to assign Chronicles from this module to Tacca, in fact.)
Boom Sticks |
Hello all, supervillan here :)
(The forum name comes from 'super villan', a v-i-l-l-a-n being a supporter of Aston Villa Football Club; though if I was a 'supervillain' I'd totally be Doctor Doom).
As GM Lorenzo says, I've not played any of Gallows of Madness. Heard it's good though. I've played with some of you before, including Lady Ladile's all-leshy Twisted Circle.
Boom Sticks is a slightly gunpowder-obsessed, effervescent vine leshy from the Mana Wastes. Currently savage technologist barbarian 1 / gunslinger 1. Boomy mostly fights as a reach fighter for now, and has a blunderbuss for utility (and fun - BOOM!) - later their combat style will be pepperbox plus cestus.
Look forward to joining you all :)
GM Lorenzo |
GMs are encouraged to be creative when applying this disease’s effects to PCs and NPCs.
So, the positive energy wouldn't harm Gellion, but it would damage the demon's bile. The two don't represent separate targets, so I'm ruling that the positive energy does nonlethal damage to Gellion.
The scene was pretty cool, so I'm not messing with it. But it's also a learning moment for me as GM and as a player who loves witches.
I'm not certain how to address the action economy of Annea's actions, as I'm not familiar with Prehensile Hair.
Here's the part that confuses me.
The witch can instantly cause her hair (or even her eyebrows) to grow up to 10 feet long or to shrink to its normal length...
Is that instantly meaning it's effectively no action or a free action, or is it instantly like an instantaneous effect, like many spells and other abilities. The general rule is that if an action isn't specified, then it's a standard action.
I'm not looking to provoke an argument here or to hunt for one anywhere else on the various discussion forums. I'm hoping one of you might have a link that provides more clarity somewhere in Additional Resources, Campaign Clarifications, errata, FAQ, or at least a developer's comment that settles the matter.
Soddy Daisy |
@Eddv & EvilMinion - Thanks for checking in! Maybe we'll play together again soon :)
@Boom Sticks - Boomyyyy! Glad to have you aboard :)
Re: Prehensile Hair - Here you go. Standard Action; sounds like the word 'instantly' was a poor writing choice.
GM Lorenzo |
Thanks, Soddy Daisy, I appreciate your finding that for me.
A very cool supernatural ability nonetheless.

Thank you Soddy for finding someone. I do apologize for dropping out, but seems like you all are in good hands after part 1.

Bellisir and Gervase, can you double check your positions on the map?
I think B took a 5ft step next to Gellion to execute his flurry of blows.
I think G should be in his prior position (the cyan circle), ready to charge if/when Gellion moves.
If we've missed something, let me know.
