Thorryn |
Taking his advice Thorryn signals Nasze to attack as he steps up and takes a swing.
Club Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Club Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Bite Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
DM Dickie |
The onslaught drops the deranged human in his tracks. He is extremely wounded, but breathes shallowly.
Jerrik has an action, no, we ain't dropping out of combat just yet!
DM Dickie |
The footsteps stop. In the corner of the ruined building emerges the wraith. It jerks and hisses in a cold voice, "I wassss done here."
The wraith then shakes itself, as if it felt a chill then shrieks and sinks into the ground. There is an audible 'pop' sounds followed by the collapse of bones onto the wooden walkway. The wraith does not return.
Aleksara |
Looking around for more enemies, Aleksara swears in Draconic.
"What in the hells?"
Is the spellcaster still alive?
DM Dickie |
The only sounds anyone hears are the uncontrolled zombies impaled on the walls. I'm going to drop a post tonight or tomorrow telling everyone about the abandoned fort, and anyone with detect magic active while looking around will notice a very recent moderate strength conjuration aura near two piles of human bones. The weird, old, crazy druid is still breathing.
DM Dickie |
Over time, Quanah puts down the trapped wretches. While airborne she sees significant damage from some past battle and absolutely no signs of life. The chartered group explores the ruins as she silences the zombies, but finds little of value. Ransacked rooms have been stripped of valuables and scorch marks in the upper sections of the fort show where fighting was fierce. In one room upstairs is a multi-pocketed backpack with coins spilling out of it and a pile of objects nearby. It would appear The Eternal Stag Lord had been packing it's lucre before abandoning the fort.
By the end of a long day destroying zombies and thoroughly investigating the collapsing compound, the elderly druid regains consciousness, but refuses to speak at all.
No threats bother the group and you have plenty of time to do anything you'd like. I would assume you'd like to report back to Oleg's, but it's understandable if you'd like to explore on the way home.
Aleksara |
Aleksara notes the location as she cleans her blade and puts it away.
"Unless this place is truly haunted, it is a very defensible location. We could get it up and running as a basic fortifications in a couple of seasons...with time and money. If we get that far, in a few years after we could build a stone tower too with the right help."
Tenzekil Orlovsky |
Carefully unrolling a map scroll. The Gnome scans it intently for a moment before making a notation. looking up he says.
"Agreed. This place has potential. Now we should start aggressively exploring the remaining territory."
Aleksara |
Aleksara looks pensive for a moment, then hooks a thumb towards the complaining prisoner.
"But what do we do with our prisoner there? He seems...a bit insane."
Jerrik Hagen |
Jerrik focuses his will inside himself and summons his holy vision, scanning the old man for any signs of evil influence.
"He may be part of the banditry problem, but he's not like the others. There is more to this one and it would be best to discover exactly what that is before he faces his sentence."
"We'll rest here for the night. Spread out and start searching. Keep an eye out for any magical auras. This place may yet hold more surprises."
"Thank you Thorryn. I seem to have taken a scratch or two along the way."
I'm not dead yet!
Aleksara |
So I'm seeing we want to search the entire fort, and make sure it is free of enemies and treasures found from top to bottom? Make sure everyone is healed up, and treasures are divided among the group properly. If all of this is done, are we ready to head out? If so, which way? Directly back to Oleg's or to search around while heading back in that general direction? I'm all for heading back to Oleg's but I don't mind taking the long way to do it.
Tenzekil Orlovsky |
Tenzi casually saluted Jerrik and scurries off to search the place.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Pausing at Q's comment.
"Yes, the Family will be glad to hear of our success, and somewhat disappointed that I have survived so far." He says with a grin.
Thorryn |
Thorryn walks up to Jerrik and places his hand over his wound. After reciting a spell his hand begins to glow with a healing light.
Thorryn cast Cure Light Wounds upon Jerrik.
CLW: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Aleksara |
Unless there is something to find/fight here in the fort, etc...then we should head out back to Oleg's after some rest, taking the LONG way to explore some more! OK guys and gals? Just trying to keep us moving.
