Arnaut doesn't even have time to turn around before he screams at the shadow's touch - but all that comes out is a breathless wisp of air as his indistinct form falls to the ground. A talisman around his neck flashes before falling to pieces, but the bard doesn't move.

So, the bad news - even though this technically isn't a death effect, it's identical in almost every other way, shape, and form. So breath of life and raise dead won't help because he's not dead by hitpoint damage.

The good news - resurrection can fix this, and Arnaut has enough prestige saved up to pay for it. So I'll be back once you AVENGE ME!!!

He is a wizard; I just forgot to mention that he used a scroll :P

Assuming everyone uses the eraminho stones: As the stones begins orbiting their heads, Jordan and Sahess suddenly see a faintly glowing portal on the north wall, through which they see a circular room. In the center of this small circular chamber rises a pillar of pale white ether. Within the column twist the ghostly forms of thousands of silently screaming angels.

As Zhu Li drags out the body of their attacker, she comes face-to-face with the arrow-riddled corpse of a half-orc wearing black clothing.

Knowledge (local) 28:
This is Woaltog, an ex-Pathfinder and master of shadows. Years ago it was discovered that he was a mad serial killer when his former lover found a hidden journal detailing the macabre murders he committed while on assignment for the Society. Soon thereafter he disappeared—presumed dead. Character Profiles Updated For any curious, he was a ranger 10/shadowdancer 4.

"Woaltog, huh?" Arnaut says as he follows Zhu out of the room's effects. "They did say they never found out what happened to him when he disappeared. Has he been stuck here the whole time, or recruited by Adril?"

He turns to study the circular chamber. "And here I thought these things were just something created by the dying mind of an artist. Well, I suppose that could still be true. So who wants to touch it first?"

Also, I made a GM call that Skyreach qualified as being in urban terrain for Woaltog’s favored terrain—it is smack-dab in the middle of Absalom, after all.

Alright, gonna railroad everyone to move things along. Map Updated (There are literally no mandatory encounters on this floor of Skyreach, so I’m revealing the entire floor at a time rather than go about my usual dungeoncrawl procedure).

The Pathfinders eventually find a set of seven ignore the fact that there are only five doorways along the western side of the floor, each of which is engraved with the symbols of the factions of the Pathfinder Society—it’s clear that these are the faction rooms.

The Pathfinders separate to their appropriate faction rooms and find the interior to be an octagonal room that seems far too big to than how it appeared from the outside. Each room is decorated appropriately for the faction and has various journals, ledgers, drafts, and so forth that would be helpful to read if given the time—which you do not have.

On a brass stand in each room is one half of a small, rough-cut geode with crystals that colored appropriately for each faction. These are half of a stone of sending, a magic item that, when concentrated upon for six seconds, allows the bearer to contact the bearer of the other half of the geode—exactly like a sending spell, but with a 100 word limit instead of a 25 word limit give or take—some of the faction missions are longer than that.

The Pathfinders concentrate on the stones and make contact with people that they are very familiar with—their faction leaders. Faction Missions Sent via PM

Upon regrouping, the Pathfinders search the current floor in search of Adril Hestram, Shemis, or perhaps other things that they are searching for. Copy-pasting most of this stuff for simplicity. Going by the numbered labels that I placed on the map.

1 and 2:
The portal chamber and the connecting hidden hallway that you guys were already in. Technically separated from the rest of Skyreach as a separate pocket dimension hence why it’s not on the map.

3:
The pillar of weird angels that was already mentioned.

4:
Facing north, the room’s broad windows allow viewers a stunning view of Absalom and the surrounding isle. The walls are decorated with framed maps of the Inner Sea, sky charts, and various instruments of astronomy and navigation. Three dead Pathfinders lie strewn across the furniture, their throats slashed and their equipment stripped.

5:
This room is entirely lightless. Within the center stands a massive, metal-framed cylinder filled with strange black liquid. A plaque upon its base reads “The Orvian.” The strange liquid within the cylinder seems to devour any light and gives off an eerie chill. Faction stuff for a faction not represented in this party; don’t worry about this room.

6:
This room is lined with iron stands displaying massive scrimshaw tusks from great woolly mastodons, each engraved with thousands of tiny pictographs. Canvases displayed about the room depict artistic renderings of the pictographs along with their conceptual meanings. These translations tell the histories of various tribes living in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords.

7:
This room’s nauseatingly gaudy decor includes thick, violet carpeting and glass tables set upon white marble bases carved to resemble pyramids. The room is walled with crushed gold-leaf panels set in ebon-lacquered walnut frames and lit by six tremendous iron and crystal chandeliers.

8:
A long, curved hallway encircles the perimeter of the tower. Numerous doorways throughout the hallway lead to various interior rooms. During the day, light filters in from rows of narrow, steeply arched windows. At night, waxy, incense-scented torches set into sconces between the windows light the corridor.

9:
The faction rooms.

10:
A towering stone totem pole serves as this hall’s centerpiece, its faces consisting of various jungle animals with anthropomorphic features. A bronze plaque set into its display base reads, “The Mwangi.” Framing the totem, and set upon a backdrop of colorfully patterned cloth, hang an arrangement of wooden masks and shrunken heads.

11:
This small gallery displays an impressive collection of Tian art. Upon shelves lining the room rest dozens of handblown glass baubles, each hiding a tiny etching of a bucolic scene within. Above the baubles, stylized brush and ink paintings hang upon the walls, depicting carp and dragons amid rolling waves and wind-whipped mountains. Wooden stands about the room display a menagerie of small ivory carvings, including a pair of foo dogs, several unusual dragons, a bear, a fisherman, a cluster of rats, and an osprey.

Spellcraft 21 to open the spoiler below

Spoiler:
The osprey is actually a silver raven figurine of wondrous power.

12:
The walls of this wide hallway are hung with hundreds of exotic masterwork swords, daggers, and other bladed weapons from distant locations within and beyond the Inner Sea region. Small placards beneath each provide the weapon’s name and details on its use, history, and country of origin.

Once y’all are done with this floor, just let me know which of the two staircases (east or west) that you guys go up to get to the next floor.

The golem can take no actions while in this form except to change back from the form as a move action. The golem’s AC and immunities do not change while in this form

Arnaut automatically makes the Perception check earlier.

Arnaut sighs heavily. "That's how this whole thing started, remember? A pair of golems thrown at us from the bellies of scarlet worms. What a waste. But on the bright side, the fact that these ones are still functioning suggests that either Adril hasn't been through here yet, or that he's had to split his forces and leave these two here. Neither one's completely terrible - though I think I'd prefer the former over the latter." He draws out a few handfuls of glittering dust from his belt pouch and blows them towards the golems.

Casting persistent glitterdust (Will 21 twice) between the two golems. I can get haste up next round for everyone, but this should hopefully let us move in safely.

Botting Sahess:

Sahess Attack Rolls: 4d20 ⇒ (20, 9, 12, 7) = 48

Not even gonna bother with the exact coding; Sahess has an adamantine weapon.

Sahess absolutely decimates the remaining golem!

To the north

The granite walls of this narrow chamber are mounted with metal plates supporting huge iron gears, all turning slowly, churning an array of chains, belts, cogs, and other devices. The west section of the chamber opens into a wider, clovershaped chamber to the south, its walls armored in bronze and copper plates. Copper nozzles protrude from between the plates, dripping black grease. The grease stains the floor beneath in pools of scintillating rainbow. However, there isn’t much in this room.

Back through the other double door

The other double doors are jammed. Sahess, with her adamantine greatsword, makes quick work of the door, but as she does so the sound of spellcasting resonates from beyond the door!

Dozens of artistically displayed chunks of twisted, unidentifiable metal, embossed with alien symbols, decorate this chamber. Maps placed near individual chunks denote the locations and specific years in which the items were discovered. The north wall has two alcoves. On the floor in front of the eastern arch lies a metal door, apparently blown off its hinges. Numerous spatters of blood crisscross the floor before eventually leading toward the hallway to the north. Maps Updated

Within the room are two beings: one is a human woman with a bow in her hand, pointed straight at the newcomers, the other is a half-elf man standing at the side of the room with a scythe slung over his shoulder.
