Ean Rulnas wrote:Dug up the character sheet I haven't looked at in two years, and the character is level 6 and thus can't be played here. My bad, I'll print off a pregen since I have no appropriately-leveled characters.Any clue on 1st or 4th level? If it is 1st then we are running straight low tier. If it 4th then the game is high-tier with the 4 player adjustment.
What would you advise would make for a better experience for the table GM?
The selection of pregenerated characters might affect the APL. In some cases, there is one pregenerated character level that is clearly more fitting to the PCs’ levels, such as when all or most of the PCs fall in the same subtier. In corner cases, the GM should choose the level of pregenerated characters to provide a fun and fair experience for her table.

I don't know that it actually matters. On one hand low-subtier might seem meh to our remaining level 5 character, while the high-subtier might prove memorable (if fatal) for our level 1 character.
I'm kicking it out to the middle of the room again, though I lean high.
I tend to like the higher tier with 4 PC adjustment because typically they remove a few mooks per encounter which means less work for me. There, I said it, I'm selfish.
I also tend to think that with a high-enough level cleric in the party you can do anything. 'Hit points?' Where we're going we don't need hit points! ;)

Everyone, make your final purchases and caster types please finalize your spell choices this weekend for the official Monday start.

Eun's player is dropping out. He's in the middle of a real-life move. So moving on from here we are at APL 3.2 so high subtier four PC adjustment.

It is at this point I should note that my IRL personality is actually quite pleasant and joking. If my roleplaying with Andolyn ever goes too far, please let me know. She's just a jerk, but what else would you expect from somebody who is legitimately a member of the Chelish Guard.

"You don't say." ;)

So good news Eun will be joining us in the guise of a pregenerated 4th level something.
Just assume he starts at the front doors on slide 2. Hurry though or you'll be late for the mission briefing.
Oh wait. Oh, no!

It's a curiosity that the Figment familiar is not a figment (illusion) at all. That is, whilst the description of the figment familiar says it is created from the master's imagination, it does not share any of the properties of a figment illusion.

Hey, as you might know, big chunks of the midwest are flooded. Stuff here is mostly okay, but it has made life a little harder here. I might be a little slow. Feel free to bot me as you will
The World's Most Interesting GM
Good luck.
Your neighbor in the mitten.

Just a quick note: This is one of them thar investigative-type scenarios. As opposed to those open dungeon door A and insert longsword B into minotaur #3 sorts of adventures. If I, as the GM, start out posting the entire party on a given day, you might be in trouble.
Also, feel free to discuss your thoughts on the case out of character here in discussion.

I'm going to be on the road tomorrow, and then for the next few days, I'm at a little family get together. I'm assuming where we're staying has wi-fi, and I'll have devices, so it should work out fine, but I might not be able to post until late at night. (U.S. Mountain time). If I'm holding anything up, please feel free to bot me.

Apologies for my small absence there. Life got busy (last semester of my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering). As a heads up I may be busy for a few more days, but I'll still try to post.

Thanks for the heads up.

Hello, I'm going in for surgery. I'm told I should have a rather quick recovery and be back to normal in a day or two. Please bot me when necessary

It might be the pain meds, but I'm not sure what we're trying to do here at the shop now. Like, are we completely lost down the rabbit hole, GM? Is there a check that people should be doing here?
The World's Most Interesting GM
Hosser actually made a check that could help back here.
I'd suggest going back and rereading her replies, and then if the party doesn't think they have any more questions to ask they should probably move on to one of their other leads. remember you could always return--assuming someone hasn't killed her by then. ;)
Lastly it might be a good thing for someone to write out what the party does and does not know about the case thus far.

I'll try to make a summary:
What we know

Okay, I've read through our interaction with her a couple times, and she keeps italicizing words like friends and associates. I'm shooting in the dark, but is there some sort of knowledge check or something that we can roll about that? I'm having trouble putting it into IC language. I thought it was maybe just emphasis but I'm desperatly grasping at straw here.
The World's Most Interesting GM
Oddly for PFS, it is not something you can just roll for this time around (at least not entirely--there was some rolling). It has to do more with events, the party's approach, and a few things the PCs have said, done, or maybe not deduced yet. There is nothing game-breaking about leaving and going elsewhere (I just need to know where) or staying and asking more questions if you have them--as she certainly seems informed. Also, she's on the list. If it some sort of hit list you could just camp here and wait for the killer to come to the party.

My parents will be in town this weekend, so a lot of my time will be spent with them. On top of that, I'll be GMing the entirety of the Ruby Phoenix Tournament from 8am to 10pm Friday at a local con, so I will very likely be unable to post Friday, and the possibility of posting Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are still up in the air. In my Player games, please bot where necessary. In my GM games, thank you for your continued patience. I REALLY hope everything goes back to normal come Tuesday.

Great website GM - is it yours, or are you a contributor? incidentally, Timinic's ravings are not readable in my mobile browser (Chrome, on Android), they get clipped for some reason I cannot fathom. I can read them just fine on my mac though (also Chrome).
No, I have nothing to do with the sight other than admiring all the work there.
Sorry about that. You can get Timinic to slow down a bit by asking nice. ;)
Lastly, today is the 'official end' of Outpost II: The Electric Boogaloo. I have most everybody's chronicle started and should be able to have them out you in a day or so if you wish to wrap now. Note there is still a major encounter site left to be had if you want your PC to press on to the end.
And as we are finishing (or preparing to), please roll a d20 here on the thread to see if you will be one of the lucky few to receive a BOON!

I should like to see the last encounter, and try to piece everything together!

Ezren, I need the first Discussion post info to assign your chronicle. What PFS character do you want credit to go to?
Ezren Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Hosser Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 201d4 ⇒ 1 BOON!
Me Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 191d4 ⇒ 4 BOON!

Of course, Janus' theory about the oathbreaking could be completely and utterly wrong. Maybe there's just a nest of murderous doppelgangers down here in the sewers...

To all: My new job starts up on Monday, and my main home game moved to Tuesday nights, so things may get skipped and such as my schedule begins to finally settle down. I will still attempt to post every day during the week, and now that I've not got 3 games over the weekend, I should be able to get a post out once a weekend, too.
Thanks again for dealing with my absences during this strange transitional period. A LOT of things have changed for the better.

To be completely honest, as a player, I don't really want to do diplomacy at the moment.

I just didn't wanna alpha-strike kill one of the few folks posting.
Now Hosser, he's another story. ;)
