Yanda wishes she had the luxury to wait the spell out, but the others force her hand and she moves to a location where she can see what trouble the others are getting themselves into. But there is nothing she can do. Her bombs are useless against the submerged crocodile and the caster is still nowhere to be found. So she turns right back around and runs back to her corner.

Having nothing better to do, she starts searching the little room.

Sorry, again! No excuses, just been a stressful few days.

Though caught in the sphere of water, Dasus doesn't panic. He does get a little frustrated, and perhaps angry, but that just means he fights all the harder to escape.

Shabah, you are flying, yes? If so, you need to make a DC 15 Fly check to hover to full attack.
Shabah's attempt to gore the croc misses. (Will wait to resolve the rest of the attack, pending the Fly check)

Dasus escapes from the orb and finds himself...

... standing in 2 feet of murky, crab-filled water on the far side of the orb, with Shabah in combat with a crocodile just ahead of him.
Dasus, it doesn't use your actions to escape from the orb, so you still have your full round of actions available.

Dasus is up! And Shabah's turn is still in process, pending a Fly check.

Is the water ~5' deep? Earlier I'd flown over, and then splashed down to the floor to get firm footing, and haven't moved since then, but if the water's deeper than I thought then I need to adjust.

Dasus takes a couple of deep breaths to get his air back, then starts to step towards the fight only to find the crocodile is already down. • Both Dasus and Shabah move forward down the water-logged corridor, scattering stray crabs as they go. They see no sign of the caster, but Shabah can now see around the corner into a new room. The brackish water in this room is mostly clear and smells clean. A gentle current flows south, where a waterfall can be heard. A small pile of rubble can be seen at the southern end of the room, beyond which there is an opening, though it's impossible to see what may lie beyond the opening from here. (i.e. what looks like a wall on the southern end of the room on the map is in fact an opening, with a pile of rubble at the bottom of it, almost like a small dam) As Shabah looks toward this opening, they hear a splash that appears to come from beyond the opening. There is also another corridor leading off to the east.

Sorry everyone. Must've accidentally cleared notifications :-|

"Mr. Prynn, will you be joining us or should we await the end of this orb?"

Shabah concentrates and their body shifts once more. Their eye splits back into two, their wings fold back up into shoulder muscles, and their legs divide into countless wriggling tentacles. Their tusks were longer, and claws still sprouted from their hands, but all in all they looked much more like the form they had first greeted their new colleagues in - except the tentacles...

"It seems my preferred battle form may not be of as much use in this flood."

Shifting to a Cecaelia for the swim speed; I'll be real sad if I need to go back to flying later today :-/

Shabah transforms into another, equally gruesome form, this one better suited to the watery environment the pathfinders find themselves in.

Suddenly, Yanda feels something in the water at her feet, or many somethings to be precise. A writhing mass of clacking shells and snapping pincers rushes through the murky water, their spider-like legs twitching in search of something to eat! The ubiquitous crabs that have been crawling about ever since you entered the space seem to have grown in number, and they seem - ow, Yanda confirms - hungry!

    dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
The crabs begin to nibble at Yanda's legs.

    Yanda Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 +2 vs. poisons, +1 vs. water/cold/earth/acid
Fortunately, Yanda suffers no other ill effects from the creatures.

    Knowledge (Nature) DC 14:
This is a swarm of crabs, Neutral diminutive vermin. Crab swarms contain over a thousand normal-sized crabs that rush over their victims, plucking flesh with thousands of pinching claws. Some fishermen claim tides and phases of the moon cause these creatures to swarm as they do. One question for every 5 by which you beat the DC.

Pathfinders are up! The bold may act.

  • My apologies for the long delay in posting, everyone. Real life has been a little hectic lately.

Per earlier post, the creature's attack on Shabah was actually a miss, leaving him with 5 points of damage, not 15. Updated in the tracker.

Dasus moves forward to help Shabah, but because of the difficult terrain cannot quite reach the fight just yet. Dasus, the squares here are all difficult terrain unless you are swimming, so with your 20' move speed you can only move 4 squares in a round, and that by double moving, leaving you no action left to attack this round.

The massed (Yellow) crabs swim after their lunch prey, managing to catch up to Dasus as they are far more comfortable moving in the water than he is.

    Swarm attack: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5 Dasus takes 5 dmg
    Dasus Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 But fortunately, he suffers no other ill effects.

The watery creature (Purple) meanwhile, attempts to pummel Shabah...
    slam, PA, WM: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
    B dmg: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
    ... but accomplishes nothing.

Just as suddenly as it appeared, the watery orb collapses with a large splash and a puddle that quickly drips down the stairs, leaving no sign of its presence as it disappears into the murky crab-infested waters. There is no obvious sign of the caster who previously called it forth.

Although he cannot see his friend, Altovin nonetheless feels the impact of Dasus' wounds, as they are transferred to him. Altovin takes 5 dmg from Dasus, and Dasus heals 5 (which puts him at 0 dmg again, and also heals the 2 non-lethal he was holding from earlier).

Pathfinders are up! The bold may act.

  • No worries, Dasus, hope your health continues to improve.

Dasus swings his axe at the crabs but quickly discovers that there are so many of them that it's impossible to do much to them. A natural "1" is an auto-miss in any case, but in this instance I'll also give you that you discover that they - as a diminutive swarm - are immune to weapon damage.

The hungry crabs, however, swarm beneath the water, eagerly chomping upon both Dasus and Shabah.

    Dasus swarm dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
    Dasus Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

    Shabah swarm dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 reduced by 2 from your DR
    Shabah Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 +4 vs. poisons.

Although Shabah's wounds from the crabs do not seem as severe as Dasus', the strange metamorph finds themselves sick to their stomach as a result. Shabah, you are nauseated for 1 round.

Altovin's lifelink once again helps Dasus' wounds to close up.

Down the corridor, although they cannot see exactly what is going on, Yanda and Altovin can hear from the shouts of their comrades that all is not going exactly to plan.
