"Here should be good." Sig says, indicating two chairs beside each other as she pulls one out for Jerrica.
Rosalina Luri |
Smiling back down at her love, Dagmarr nods. "We'll definitely be alright love" she answers.
"Yes, it's called snow. At least in some worlds, there are regions in the north and south that have mostly cold weather. In places like that, there's snow everywhere."
As Rosa talks about where she is from, the cleric squeezes her hand in support, leaning over to kiss her forehead as she slips an arm around her love, offering in comfort.
Rosa leans into her and kisses Dagmarr's hand to thank her for the support.
As they go inside, Rosa goes to an empty seat and pulls it out for Dagmarr. After her love sits, she helps push her in, before sitting next to her.

Sig puts together a plate for Jerrica, then herself, listening to Arista's reply.
GM Henry Fortuna |
Arista sighs and closes her eyes. "I have lost many friends and family here. I would leave if it weren't for what lies in the catacombs. Or maybe I have some hope that this town could be brought back to life. If you wish to help, you can go to the catacombs and retrieve the scroll case that lies there...or you can put an end to the dark riders."
She shrugs. "Or you can do both, if that pleases you. You may be earmarked for greatness or you may have been sent on a fool's errand, but I am not the one who can answer that."
Frostine Finnisson |
Frostine listens carefully as she slowly eats some of the food. Finishing the bit she was working on she takes her tankard of milk and freezes it while changing it into her favored chocolate flavor. Eating it a little slowly she says between bites while holding it to keep it frozen, "Ms. Arista....I am sorry for all that you have lost. Like my husband said though, we may not be as experienced as you or as mature as you....and maybe we haven't experienced the same kind of losses...but that doesn't mean that we don't understand what you're going through or....or what it's like to lose things....people, or that we can't handle ourselves in a fight. All of us...every one of us here, has lost something. Maybe not all in the same way, but lost them nonetheless, but we all have something to fight for as well." She pauses and takes a thoughtful bite of her frozen treat, "I'm not exactly sure why whoever sent us to you, has sent us...but we're here, and we will do everything in our power, to help you do whatever it is you wish to do. Whether it's to rid your land of undead, stupid dark riders, or bring life back into this place....all three if you wish it....but we're here, and we're not leaving until we've accomplished...whatever it is that we need to do here." She pauses again and looks around at the others, "I think we should start with the catacombs and try to clear those out and get that scroll. After that...well, we'll deal with whatever comes after that...after that." She looks back at Arista, "Does that sound okay to you? Just know that whatever happens, you're not alone anymore." She says with a small supportive smile.

Sig nods in agreement with Frostine. "We've yet to back down from a challenge, including being taken to other worlds and dealing with the whims of child deities. I think you'll find us tougher than we look." the skald says with a smile.
Rosalina Luri |
Stopping for a moment she listens to the others before nodding as well and looking towards their hostess, "Yeah, looks can be deceiving, and I don't really think that hardness equals experience. We've all been through stuff and grown as people because of it." She thinks for a moment before gesturing towards Frostine, "Take Frostine here for example. Don't let all that cuteness fool you into thinking that she's not capable of handling things. She can be damn scary when she wants to be, even though I personally think she over taxes herself sometimes for someone in her condition. Thorgr is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, as is Sig...but for slightly different reasons. Jerrica has many talents, some of which I'm sure we're yet to see. Dagmarr...." Rosa can't help but smile at the mention of her name, "Dagmarr has proven herself time and again when it comes to keeping us alive. Me....I can pretty much see in the dark, the daylight doesn't hurt me, I can sew, make or repair my own guns and ammo as long as I have the materials, and if things get up close and personal with me, I always have my trusty hammer to smash em' with."
She pauses to take a few drinks of water before looking over at her love, "Did I miss anything, or did anyone want to add anything to that?"
Frostine Finnisson |
Frostine swallows her bite of her chocolate frosty drink before giving Rosa a mock pouty look and crosses her arms, "Heeeyyy....and I do not over do it." She finishes a little more quietly while sounding a bit as if she's sulking.

Dagmarr smiles at the exchange, before turning to Arista. "That's pretty much it.I've found that part of what helps to take the edge off of that hardness is having people to lean on when things get bad."
GM Henry Fortuna |
Arista silently listens to everyone before speaking. "I will take you to the catacombs tomorrow morning. Clear out the first floor and only the first floor, then we can speak of hope, your toughness and not being alone."
The aasimar sighs. "You will quickly find that the undead under the cathedral are rather tough the more you proceed. It will be a good way for me to gauge whether I want your help or not and to see if you really have what it takes."

Belos looks up at the people at the table for the first time, then turns to his mother. "No, she wasn't. She told me the dream she had...I didn't believe it either."
Arista closes her eyes. "I saw six bright candles with no flame, moving through the darkness. Where the light shone, there was grass and flowers. They went to the cathedral and illuminated a dark shadow, as large as a troll...perhaps even larger. The brightness increased and the shadow was dispelled. That was my dream."
Belos shakes his head. "We've never been ones to put stock in dreams. Especially when reality had been nothing but a nightmare. May I be excused, Mother?"
Arista nods. As he leaves, she leans back in her chair. "That's more than Belos has said in a long time."
The aasimar shrugs. "Temperance...take him to Lysse and fetch some necessities. I can't feed a group of people on cabbage, scrawny chickens and old potatoes."
Temperance smiles. "I agree. We don't want to get into your stash of turnips, do we?"
Arista grimaces. "Only when the Nine Hells freeze over."

Sig nods. "That sounds fair, prophetic dreams can be confusing enough, it would give us a chance to see what it is you have to deal with as well."
Frostine Finnisson |
Frostine sighs and absently rubs her chest. Though the new supports helped, that area still hurt. Finished with her portion she pushes the plate away, "Don't worry too much Ms. Arista....I mean about us starving or anything. Since we were unsure of what we would be walking into, we made sure to stock up on rations and other provisions while we visited Jerrica's friends in some place called Valwick. I made sure to buy enough groceries to last us about a week....I just, I've never actually cooked before...but we have lots of rations too. We saw what happened to your land and...I don't know, something just told me to bring food. I...I figured I'd have to learn to cook sooner orf later. Right?" She says, her mind full of so many things she didn't know where to start. Full and aching in her chest a little, she leans against Thorgr.
Rosalina Luri |
Between trying to clean up the house they were using, unpacking, and worrying about Frostine, Rosa lets out a tired sigh and kisses Dagmarr's shoulder before leaning her head against her love.
Frostine Finnisson |
She looks around at the others and then back at Arista before nodding again, "Okay...I just...I didn't want to make you feel like we needed to be completely taken care of or whatever. We don't want to become a burden."
Frostine Finnisson |
Frostine nods sleepily, "Yes, thank you. We'll see you tomorrow." She says before yawning loudly, "Oops, sorry." As they head to the door, Frostine leans into his side. Hoping they hadn't gotten themselves in over their heads.
Rosalina Luri |
Standing she waits for Dagmarr to rise before taking her hand and giving it a kiss as they head to the door with the others, "You have a good night as well ma'am." Rosa says, giving Arista a nod of her head.
Sigrdrífa Helmsdottir |
"Have a good night. We look forward to getting started in the morning." Sig says putting her hand on Jerrica's
