Does Tobar know that he has access to the huge spells on the Hunter list? I'd like to have him memorize Defoliate and Expeditious Excavation but am not sure if that is acceptable (may also just sidestep the whole problem in a boring way).
I have no problem at all if you say no to these spells at this point in time.

You got a deity? That one you can consult during your prayertime about what spells to prepare for the challenges of the day.

Would you know the spells without having any experience? I like playing it as asking for magic that does something that I want.... and maybe adding why if the spell does something that the deity/power might normally be against doing. ;)

No. As a hunter I get my spells from nature.
But I don't understand the question. Tobar knows the kinds of things he wants to do. If Tobar knows the spell list, that is what he'd memorize

Sorry for my stepping in. I only posted as a comment, my opinion. With no formal training,as kids, I see our spells as magically doing what we want. That doesn't work as well for a witch because of the limited list. With you having the whole list to choose from you could ask nature for spells to 'dig' under the hurt plants and'strip the leaves' from sick plants.
Again, only my two copper since we're both just playing the game, not GMing.

In my opinion, if you're no wizard, then you don't need to know a list of spells by name to cast them. You don't study to master them, but you get them either as a divine gift, or as something in your blood for the arcane. I'd say that's more like you know how it works, but you can't explain it to people who don't know it.

@Tarjun
I think you misunderstood Tobar (or I did). But I'm really curious what you want with purify water. Because I don't know that spell. I'd guess it's either purify food and drink, or bless water. The first doesn't make sense, and for the second you're probably lacking the pound of silver.

Oh. It is entirely possible that I misunderstood him, I'm afraid.
Here's the spell: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/p/purify-food-and-drink/. Maybe I got it wrong and it doesn't make sense here, but since it apparently spoils unholy substances, I thought it would be worth a try.

Hi everyone!
On August, 14th, I'll cross the Atlantic and move to Indiana to spent a year studying abroad! It's the first I'm doing anything like this, and I expect that it may take some time to settle down properly. I just wanted to let you know that it might affect my posting in the days to come, but I expect that everything will be back to normal at the end of the week.
In any case, I'll definitely keep you updated! :)

Culture shock is right, but at least you'll be in one of the "fly over states" where you usually only just hear about the craziness.... Just remember when you read/hear the news that they sensationalize the news, not report it! Sometimes I read the headlines and remember Anne Murray's song "A Little Good News".
Remember that you never hear about the silent majority.

Thank you everyone! I'm French, so I'm enjoying my last few days stuffing myself with cheese and baguette... :( I'm probably going to miss French food the most! Thankfully it's just for a year :)
I'll sure remember to listen to that song regularly, Jewel! ^^ Thank you!
How long have you been living in Canada, Tobar? :D

Tobar Johnson |

Oh, most of my life. We moved here when I was about 8 :-).
But I've been back enough to still feel significantly British.
If you miss French food come up here to Toronto. We have lots of good French restaurants :-). Or, better still, go to Montreal or Quebec :-) :-)

Hi guys! I'm still exhausted from the journey, but I'm back in the game!
I haven't had time to think of an idea yet, I'm basically brain dead from the fatigue :P But I'll try to come up with something!

Sorry to hear about your mother, Jewel. All my love and support goes to you.

Jewel Branston |

Thanks Tarjun. She's had a long, good life. But I sure wish the doctor had been a bit less heartless. Guess he sees too many patients to care about any of them. Bad news delivered with a 'Ho Hum' attitude....

Jewel Branston |

So maybe a "skill up"? But to balance it we each get X skill points?
Another option would be to do away with the can't roll if you aren't trained skills rule. Example would be how Clara waved the scepter around until it activated. Untrained you can't get a 30+, but you can get a 20.... (unless your modifier is negative!)

Maybe we can get a skill up while keeping the "you can try until it works" rule, depending on the rolls?

I'm sorry for having gone missing for so long. I absolutely HATE it when others do it and I hate it even more when I do. I have some excuses but they really don't matter. I just went quiet for a long period, that is my fault, and I sincerely apologize
Its become obvious that I just don't have the time for this and so I think that it is best that I officially bow out.
Thank you for the game everybody, it was fun while it lasted
Feel free to NPC Bot Tobar if you wish, or just kill him dead.
It's a pity when life leaves no time to play.
I wish you the best.

There's only three of us now. What should we do? Go on? Try to recruit another player?

Hi guys,
I'm sorry that I have been inactive recently. My parents split up, RL's been tough, and I've been feeling really down in the dumps and demotivated for the past few weeks. It coincided with all of my campaigns slowing down or screeching to a halt, so I didn't really know if I would stay on Paizo or not.
But I'm back, because it's silly to give up on the things that you enjoy :) I still don't feel quite alright, and I apologize for not having been more upfront about it, but I'm back in the game. My posting will unfortunately remain somewhat hectic at the end of this week because I'm going back to the US this week-end (please bot me if needed!). But I'll come back to posting regularly after the few days needed to settle down, and if I ever struggle again with motivation in the long run, I'll let you know :)

Thank you for your kindness guys. I have shaken off the jetlag, and I am ready to come back to the game.

I found a totally fool proof way to get Breathnacht. Summon Spirit. I just need a level up, ignore the fact, that grand hexes are for level 18+ withces, and we can summon the ghost again and again, until he capitulates.

Clara Johnson |

I had a rather lame idea what to offer Breathnacht to get him to comply with the atonement. And hoped you would come up with something better I hadn't thought of.
Now I noticed the obvious thing to do (which is facepalm worthy, that I didn't think of it immediately). But still holding back, in case you have a good/better idea.

@Tarjun
I fTarjun paid attention while Jewel checked the books and listened at least now and then to what his parents told, he know quite a bit about Erastil. Even without rolling.
But the roll was for all gods that could jump in, should someone wander to far from the pat and try necromancy.
