Time to consider our options?
I thought Tarjun might cast Mage Hand to bring the key closer to the cell, but perhaps he can't use that spell yet since he hasn't had a long rest since leveling up.
If Clara or Jewel have a hairpin, maybe they can pick the lock? Or send either one of their familiars to fetch the needle from the table.
A game of Hide and Seek or "Simon says, Close your eyes and cover your ears" might suffice :)

It's not exactly a cantrip, but a supernatural ability. See Spirit Guide here
Now that Clara has picked the lock, I guess it's irrelevant.

I'm not sure. The text of the spell doesn't suggest anything like this.
But it also lasts only a round per CL, so you'd have to cast it anew anyway. Which has you talking, but you can put it in a different corner any time. If you see it. Because line of sight and line of effect and such.
But basically, I only wanted to know if Frank assumes, you are in the cell or outside.

Sadly, he can cast this spell only once per day, so if it's run out, that's it!

Pretty funny still that a nat 1 should follow a nat 20! For once, Tarjun's quieter than Jewel... Who knew?

Thinking distraction Jewel speaks the words to another spell as quietly as she can and points.... [dice=Stealth]1d20 +6
Casting Dancing Lights over by the door. One human shaped glowing light.
You can't. What you are aiming for is a 'silent spell'. There is a rule somewhere about verbal components in the book, that I'm too lazy to look up right now.
Like on page 213:
Verbal (V): A verbal component is a spoken i ncantation.
To provide a verbal component, you must be able to
speak in a strong voice. A silence spell or a gag spoils the
i ncantation (and thus the spell). A spellcaster who has been
deafened has a 20% chance of spoiling any spell with a
verbal component that he tries to cast.

Since Frank isn't the brightest, maybe a bunch of noises and lights coming from everywhere at once will be enough to disorient him...
| Jewel Branston |
Interesting and thanks. "speak in a strong voice" is pretty clear....
Jewel would try it anyway since it would just be random babbling with all the other noise. And if Frank 'finds' her, it's all part of the game!

I never did figure out how to get notice of new posts. I just have a browser link that opens all of the games I'm in or watching in separate tabs. Then I just glance at each tab to see if there's something new. Have to edit it occasionally when too many of the games have died, and I've had it drop tabs that I wanted to keep.... But otherwise it works fairly well.

There is the lazy method of checking your /campaigns page, where every thread lists (new x) behind the name of the thread if there are new posts since you last checked. It is the tab next to your Profile and Aliases tab.
And every thread has the RSS feed buttons at the top, which allows a feed reader (which you also get as plugin to your browser) to follow the thread. Which lists all changes, including edits, of the thread.
The RSS feed is the best way, but with a lot of games and checking rather often it made my browser slow, so I went back to checking the (new x) entries.

Hi everyone! I'll be off on a research trip to London from March 13th to March 20th. Posting rate might get hectic, but please feel free to bot me if needed!
| Jewel Branston |
Sorry for my absence, but posting is nearly impossible for me now. I'm in intensive care at the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Wake Med. Got an infection in my leg that turned into necrotizing fasciitis, or something like that. They've had to remove several pounds of skin and such, making my leg look like something from a horror show.
I will be back and would love to continue this game if possible, but will likely offline for an unknown period, possible 4-6 weeks.

Oh s$!@. Take care Jewel! I hope you will feel better soon.
I have to say the game never feels the same when Jewel isn't around :') but I understand it might be more difficult to get back to if it screeches to a halt completely. Let's proceed - but more slowly, so Jewel can catch up without too much difficulty if needs be.

Thank you! I'm home. Weak but on this side of the grave and working on regaining my strength. The surgeon did provide details and I didn't miss the other side by much. (six hours were his exact words....)
Haven't read the game thread yet but will do and try to figure out where we are! Thanks for being patient with me.

@Tarjun
I wanted to make fun of you wanting to become a pirate because of your lawful upbringing. Then I saw the alignment. What the heck is CB? From you ravatar it is not Chaotic Bald. And how do you get away with being chaotic in the Branston Family?

CB is very much a Frenchism of mine, I'm afraid! (Chaotic Good (CG) => Chaotique Bon (CB) I sometimes get the English and French abbreviations mixed up when it comes to alignments and coins. I'll get that mistake fixed.
I think there is more than one way to deal with a strict education, and Tarjun chose the other one! I remember us debating his alignment quite some time ago, but I'm not really satisfied with the Neutral label. Like all children, Tarjun shows some obedience and trust to adults (he doesn't really have a choice in the matter anyway), but often resists and contests their authority. He vehemently refuses to settle down in a rural community like his parents no matter how much they insist it's something he 'must' want - which is as free-spirited as a Branston can be!
Alignments in Pathfinder are vague as heck, and hardly defined consistently. I take Tarjun's rebellion against anything that is valued in Oakstead (steadfastness, hard work, a sedentary lifestyle, marriage, faith) as an active rejection of the rules. Besides, any character who resists having an alignment label slapped on them has to lean on the Chaotic side...

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to remind me of how HPs work in this campaign. I thought (but maybe I'm mistaken?) that the first time we levelled up, you told us one the rules was not to increase our HPs to stay consistent with the fact that we were playing kids, GM. So Tarjun's HPs have stayed the same since he took his level in Oracle at Level 1.
Now, if I'm wrong, I'll get them up to date!
| Jewel Branston |
Ouch! I didn't want to actually have to fight a pirate crew.... Well, will it be Captain Tarjun and First Mate Clara? Or Captain Clara and First Mate Tarjun? Jewel doesn't want to be a pirate.
Hmm.... I don't think my HP are right either. Yep. Short for MT2. 4 points. Might keep me alive for one hit!
Tarjun Branston
|
Okay, I'll get the HPs up to date tomorrow (and throw a post in!)
Is now as good a time as any to ask how many crewmembers are on this ship?...
Tarjun Branston
|
If my calculations are correct, that's:
- Oracle Lvl 2: Average 5 HP + 1 Favoured Class (6)
- Skald Lvl 1: Average 5 HP
- Rage Prophet Lvl 1: Average 6 HP + 1 Toughness (7).
12+18=> 30
That's a lot of HPs!

Since the spider is a small creature, can I use my Create Water orison to get it off my arm and drown it? (like some kind of small Hydraulic Push)?

RL has hit me like a truck this week. Not in a life-threatening manner, don't worry ;just a lot of demoralizing, time-consuming, medium-sized issues that have to be dealt with before the week ends. Will probably manage to post on Friday or Saturday. Please feel free to bot Tarjun along a bit if needed.

I thought I had the rod. ?? Or was I trying to wrap the fish in a net? Re-reading the posts I'm not clear. Net or Gaff? For a really big fish, if you are close enough a gaff hook works pretty good! Yes, I have gaffed several 20+ pound fish out of the Mississippi river into our boat. Faster than using a net and almost as easy....
Yeah, that's not clear. I thought you got in the outrigger, but maybe you should clarify what you did then?

Hi guys! Just to let know that I'll be away on holidays from Monday to Friday. I don't know yet if I'll be able to get posts in (feel free to bot me if needed!). I will return next weekend.

I'm back! But I'm too tired to post anything right now... Will catch up properly tomorrow.

Right - I was wondering if that was a mispelling! I rolled with it since it could have been intended.
