GM bigboom |

Elwin, you saw Kallus cast a spell at Savinni, which is basically an attack on her. So you know she's hostile now. Given this, if you want to change your action, go for it. If not, what is your readied action?

![]() |

Esar turns and starts walking in the direction of the door, but 0689 blocks his way. "Yes... I think I'll do that... Sorry for disturbing you..."

GM bigboom |

0689, yup, closing the door will be a move action.
0689, seeing a spell cast on Esar, moves in and closes the door behind him but remains silent.
If you wish, you may consider yourself having drawn a weapon when you moved into the room.
Kallus opens the door he's standing to and attempts to cast command on Savinni and she freezes for a second, eyes beginning to glaze over but a split second later, shrugs it off!!
You do not have a weapon drawn.
Elwin moves through the door opened by Kallus and steps up closer to Savinni.
I assume you currently do not have a weapon drawn unless you want to spend your standard action drawing it.
Esar moved towards the door that 0689 had just closed and opens it.
[ooc]But doesn't have anymore actions available so has not yet exited the room./ooc]
Outside of the AV room, Smek disarms another bomb, continuing his streak as the one-mouse bomb disposal team!
And Varag keeps the crowd further away from the potential danger area up by the stage.
---------------------------------------------------------
static arc pistol: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Electrical damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Due to Kallus attempting a spell on her and seeing three other people enter the room, surrounding her, Savinni realizes the jig is up and that's she's been discovered as Triloteya! She pulls out a static arc pistol and fires it at Elwin, hitting him for 4 points of electrical damage!!

Elwin staggers with the near miss and returns fire with his Hail pistol.

GM bigboom |

Smek disarms the last remaining bomb successfully, defusing (pun intended) the potential threat to Luwazi and the gala's attendees!
Smek, the disarm was a standard action. You still have a move action available so feel free to take a move.

Thanks bigboom!
Smek uses the comm channel the team shared with Radaszam , "All of the explosives should be disarmed. Do we have a status on Savinni? I'm moving to the door Kallus manned." Smek hops off the stage, "Great crowd control Varag! And thank Ykris for stopping one of the devices."

![]() |

"Yeah, I think we found her." 0689 shouts into the comm unit. "May need one more back here when you all have a moment."
He then notices Esar leaving, "Hey, where the hell are you going?"

![]() |

Esar, in a half-dazed state, says, "She told me to..." and leaves.
Double move, unless someone stops me.

![]() |

Hearing Smeks comments and seeing him moving towards the door, Varag states to the crowd, Excuse me folks, it seems I am need elsewhere. It was a pleasure.
double move into the hallway

GM bigboom |

Smek, I've moved you back to the ballroom door as you disarmed and have a 30' move and it takes another move to open the door so it appears you're able to get to the door but it is not yet open.
Same for Varag. You were able to double move from the middle of the room up to the door and will need to spend another move action in the next round to open the door and then another action to move into the hallway at your movement rate.
0689's shot lands right on target, hitting Triloteya!

Sorry, misread the map... Didn't mean to phase through a wall... At least not at this level anyway. ;)

BOT-EE-licious |

G'day folks! I'm here to bot Kallus and keep you movin' along!!!
"Triloteya, you are surrounded and have nowhere to run. There IS no running from the LAW!!" exclaims Kallus as he casts mind thrust!!
The spell forces images of dozens upon dozens of sentients into Triloteya's mind's eye. Each one of those sentients starts initially with their backs to Triloteya, then one-by-one, they turn to face her and with a deep growl, they each proclaim, "We know who you are...Triloteya!"
Damage: 2d10 ⇒ (5, 8) = 13
Will save DC13

Am I able to draw a weapon and open the door at the same time? If so, I'll draw my pistol. Two move actions - open door/draw pistol, move down the hall.
Smek quickly opens the door and maybe draws his Azimuth pistol. He dashes down the corridor, "I'm on my way."

GM bigboom |

Nope, sorry Smek, you're not able to draw and open door at the same time. But next level you'll be able to draw a weapon while moving!

![]() |

i WILL SAVE my character: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Juuuuuuust barely!
Esar shakes his head, and looks around. "Oh, come--RRGH!" He then turns around and sprints down the hallway, drawing his guns as he runs. Double move, drawing each move. I'm assuming the door is still open.

![]() |

Hmmm. I thought I posted earlier, must have just hit preview instead of submit... anyway...
Elwin grimaces in pain and advances upon the assassin, casting something and reaching out to touch her...
Jolting surge, trying to touch anything electronic on her to gain the additional +2 to hit

Botting Kallus...
"Triloteya, more of us come to apprehend you! The exits are sealed! The building secured! There is NO ESCAPE!!" exclaims Kallus as he casts his last mind thrust!!
This time, Kallus' forces an image upon Triloteya that she's in a room where the walls and ceiling close in, the air being siphoned out and there is no way out...
Damage: 2d10 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
Wis save DC13

0689 unleashes a couple but the flurry of gunfire misses, hitting the window behind her without shattering it. Hmmm... must be transparent aluminum?
Esar shrugs off the effects of the charm spell and once he realized what happened, he gets angry. People don't like it when he's angry...
Smek, Esar and Varag all advance towards the room.
Elwin moves in close to Triloteya and spits out a few arcane words, causing his eyes to glow blue and sparks to form on his off-hand! Then with a quick, decisive motion, Elwin reaches out and juuuust barely manages to lay a finger on Triloteya's pistol! Suddenly, all the magical power emanating off Elwin discharges out of his body in the form of electricity, sending a powerful shock straight into Triloteya.
Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Triloteya takes 6 points of damage from Kallus' mind thrust
The images from Kallus' mind thrust freezes Triloteya for a moment as a look of horror and panic form on her face. She recovers her composure quickly but was obviously affected by the experience!
---------------------------------------------------------
Seeing that the battle is turning against her, Triloteya quickly slams a button on the AV console which causes the window to open, rolling down into the ground and providing an open path into the Skyreach room!!
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
She then leaps over the console, onto the stage in the main ballroom and runs as fast as she can!
All the guests in the room, turn around at the sound of the commotion and see this human woman leaping onto the stage, running straight through the crowd!
Elwin, Varag, and 0689 see the look of surprise on all the guests' faces, except for one. Iteration-177 maintains a calm demeanor as he discreetly lifts his arm a bit and deftly shoots a dart into the fleeing Triloteya!
1d4 ⇒ 2

The window between the AV room and the ballroom is now open. With a DC14 acrobatics, you can leap over the console and continue moving at your movement speed unimpeded. If you fail the roll, your movement ends on the console but you can spend your next move (or standard action) to move into the Skyreach room at your normal movement speed.
0689, Esar, and Elwin all currently have line of sight on Triloteya. The doors along the bottom of the map that Smek and Varag recently opened are still open so anyone can move through those doors unimpeded or if you stand in the doorway, you'll have line of sight on Triloteya.

![]() |

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Smek draws his pistol and dashes after Triloteya, nimbly diving over the console and onto the stage. Landing in a firing position he calls out to Triloteya, "The only way out alive is surrender. Drop your weapons and get on the ground."

![]() |

Esar starts sprinting across the room. He then jumps up, his feet catching on the wall, and, using his prior momentum, starts running on the wall. He quickly fires his static arc pistol at Triloteya.
Static Arc Pistol: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Trick attack, Acrobatics, DC 20+CR: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28 Pistol damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Trick attack damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Wow! Didn't get the chance to post yesterday due to my birthday shenanigans, but it looks like KallusBot handled himself well..
Speaking into his comms, he addresses the Obsidian Spiders. "I hope you got those doors sealed, she's coming your way." Then he calmly moves to the window. Not wanting to shoot into the crowd, he leaves his pistol sheathed and instead focuses on a server's tray. "The place is surrounded, your plans broken. Give up now."
TK Have a Drink: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d6 ⇒ 1

Happy birthday, then!

Do the doors to the hallway autoclose? Are the doors Smek and Varag opened recently still open?
Hearing the commotion in the ballroom, Varag moves to assist.

GM bigboom |

Happy birthday Kallus!!
Do the doors to the hallway autoclose? Are the doors Smek and Varag opened recently still open?
Haha! I LITERALLY answered that exact question almost verbatim in my previous post. I've moved your token to the closest open doorway so that you can fire.
The chase is ON!!! Smek dives after Triloteya, landing on the stage! Varag, Esar and Kallus all open fire or otherwise initiate ranged attacks on Triloteya as she runs away! Most of the incoming fire hits the tables around Triloteya! Glasses breaking! Plates shattering! Floral arrangements shredded to pieces, flying every which way!
While most shots miss, Esar DOES manage to clip Triloteya in the arm!!

If she is the icon I can reach, I'll try to slow her down in any way I can, jumping on her, stepping in front of her, whatever is takes...

0689 drops his side arm and pulls his rifle around.
He shoulders it and fires a overcharged laser bolt.
attack VS EAC: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 131d8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 4 + (1) = 11

GM bigboom |

0689's attack contributes to the chaos of gunfire all directed in Triloteya's direction but missing her as she runs through the banquet hall!!
The quick and nimble Elwin gives chase, gets in front of Triloteya and attempts to grab an arm or leg - anything to slow her down! But she proves to be nimble herself as she easily dodges Elwin's attempts to grab her as she continues running towards the elevators in the back of the ballroom!
Luwazi and Naiaj attempt to trip or grab her but like most of the crowd, they're still in a state of shock at the sudden turn in events and fail to make contact on Triloteya!!!
She double moves 60 feet away from all of you. C'mon guys!! You're REALLY close to taking her down!! One more hit should probably do it!!

Smek dashes forward through the crowd, similar to when he introduced himself to Zo!, but this time his movements are deliberate to conceal himself from Triloteya...
Trick Attack/Stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35
Attack/EAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage is d4 pistol, d4 trick twice each, plus d4 burn.
Damage/F: 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (1) + (2) + (1) + (1) = 5
Damage/Burn: 1d4 ⇒ 2 This won't happen till her turn, but she'll have to stop to put it out at least...

GM bigboom |

Wooo!! Clutch critical hit!! Nice!
Smek had shouted a warning, telling Triloteya to halt. But Smek reacts instantly the moment Triloteya continues to flee. Smek moves quickly, smoothly, quietly and seems to disappear from sight only to appear seemingly out of no where, unleashing a laser pistol shot that hits Triloteya square in the back of the head!!! Youch!!
She falls forward from the laser blast...no longer moving - and hair literally on fire. Those hair products turned out to be flammable. Uh oh.
Combat Concluded!!!
Radaszam puts out the fire, arranges for Triloteya's body to be removed and, if possible, stabilized for further questioning later. He approaches you and says, "Congratulations. Job well done Starfinders! And for acting as unofficial members of the Obsidian Spiders during this gala, I've got a special reward for you later. Later on in the evening after the gala ends, he will hand each of you an advanced Diasporan rifle marked in the sleek black design of the Obsidian Spiders mercenary group. (Which appears in your chronicle sheet.)
Meanwhile, the crowd remains in a stunned silence at the sudden outbreak of combat but Luwazi takes to the stage, insisting that if people are willing to kill her to keep her silent, her words are surely important enough to say. As she makes her way up, everyone listens intently.
“I had planned for this evening’s announcement to be an exciting one, but I’ll admit this is not quite what I had in mind,” the First Seeker begins, her smile wry but determined. “Now I find my resolve only further galvanized.
“As many of you know, the First Seeker has the privilege and the responsibility for choosing the direction of the Starfinder Society’s research efforts. I have refrained from setting such a direction while we regroup and rebuild—an undertaking which all of you here have made possible. Also, the fact that Guidance has not yet chosen to formalize my election is another matter, but not one the Society can risk dwelling on. Now that the Society is again in a position to reach for the stars, I am pleased to formally announce the focus of our efforts during my tenure. Thanks to the tireless research of my associate Royo, we have identified a lead on understanding the Scoured Stars incident. And so, the Starfinder Society will continue researching the Scoured Stars, in the hopes of reuniting with our lost colleagues and better understanding this phenomenon.”
The First Seeker looks at all of you directly in the eyes, adding, “And I already have highly qualified agents in mind to undertake the first mission!”
There is a moment of surprised quiet over the room, and then the guests, starting with Ykris, begin to applaud in force. Iteration-177 regards the elected First Seeker with an indiscernible expression, slowly joining in on the applause. Royo nods enthusiastically, taking in some of the fanfare for his role in the announcement. Naiaj frantically appends work orders, noticeably perturbed by some news she has just received. Zo! actively backs away from the assembled group, still enthusiastically clapping but also making desperate calls to acquire televised rights to all Scoured Stars related endeavors.
Congratulations! You've completed the scenario! Feel free to continue throwing up any RP posts here. I'll post some administrative details in the discussion thread shortly!

![]() |

0689 goes back to retrieve his pistol and holsters it. He then meets the others in the banquet hall and joins in the applause, as is customary, he guesses.

![]() |

"Good job, everyone!" Esar says to his allies. "Now, I don't know about you guys, but I am exhausted."

![]() |

"Great job all. I agree, Esar. I feel as if I've been wrestling a group of Skittermanders..."
Elwin says with a grin and a slight grimace of pain.

![]() |

Smek straightens out his clothes, and works the crowd a little longer. Trying to smooth over the rather abrupt introduction to the Second Seeker's announcement.
Smek brings a round of drinks to the team, "Well played, we've earned some free drinks." He raises his glass before finishing in one swallow. "If you ever need a hand, just let me know."

![]() |

Kallus breathes a sigh of reliefas he comes down out of the AV room, he scans the room as he listens to Luwaszi speak. When the speech is over and Triloteya is in custody, he looks to the others. "Yes, great team work everyone, but remember, assassins don't work alone. Someone hired her. We will have our work cut out for us."
Kallus, ever ready for the next mark, checks his weapons and then his data pad. Already seeing credits deposited to his account. A grim smile crosses his face.
