@WW,
Ex-cop is fine. The guns I envision are wild-west-ish, and I've only discussed areas with one player via PM, but the westernmost district of Rooftopolis is Westedge—basically the Wild West combined with Greek Mythology's "Western Edge of the World."
@Johnny,
I figure it's been months. I was thinking time between episodes could be equal to the time between episode-beginnings. This also means the salary and leveling won't be the bounty for one adventure. We're all paid by Brother Seamus.
If you look at the $alary spoiler under info, that amount adds up so that when you reach Lv.20 you have 880,000g—the same amount PF expects you to have when you reach Lv.20.

Will you accept
Flexible Half-Breed
(Allows alter self once per day to give +10 to pass as human or elf)
instead of
Multi-talented
(two favored classes at first level)
because I'm not allowed to multi-class
Yes.
I would normally say no to the racial alterations, but since multitalented is useless, yes.
Jungle Affinity might be useful on the not-urbanized island, in case you were considering other options (that replace multitalented). But if you like the alter self ability, it's fine.
Vermilion Vixen |
@VV
But what about the
Flexible Half-Breed over Multi-talented?and about the fire arms, that means, more like advanced and not modern.
that's what I think anyhow.
how many guns are we talking about? are they everywhere?
if so, would other players be able to use a firearm because it is relativity common?
There can be a few crazy gunslingers out to prove themselves. Lawmen have guns. Most who carry are male. You can decide any reason you wish for leaving the police force.
Other players should at least take the –4 penalty to attack rolls.
Outside of Westedge, guns aren't common. Unless I revise my plan, you won't encounter enemies with firearms this episode.
Wasteland_Wizard |
Is there anything else you suggest?
and what kind of area will we be doing most of our combat? in the streets and i buildings? if so, I can go with a shot gun or revolver.
but is there something you think I should do for my character that I may have missed? I am still making it.
Wasteland_Wizard |
I decided on the Jacket Training trait as one of my 2
and it allows me to treat an armored coat (a medium armor) as light armor.
do you think this is ok?
the only problem I see is, IDK how its supposed to work. it gives no explanation.
if no one knows, I'll change it.
Caledon Whitetree |
Hey, I'm joining in
working out My character right nowso, can't be tiefling or multi-class
so, I'ma 5th lvl gunslinger.
but what do you guys think My race should be?still need to work out... everything XD
Welcome!

You're saying a moderate amount of time would pass in-between episodes, and the money and loot you get isn't necessarily from the episode you just played though?
Maybe it's because I have a birthday coming up (Sunday) that I'm thinking this way, but I don't feel the need for characters to age faster than we do. Think of how easy dates will be. It's the 12th month of Something-eighteen. Next episode will likely happen on the second month of something-nineteen.
I don't feel a need to explain how money ends up in our pockets. It's a combination of work for insanely-wealthy Bro Seamus and our day-jobs. (Addy Lane outfits are a hot item in women's fashion—I took in vogue at Lv.5. It's an RP-only talent.) The important thing (I think, anyway) is to have roughly the intended wealth for our level.
I'm fine with how this may affect crafting if you are.
Vermilion Vixen |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I'm relieved that you're relieved, since I know I come up with dumb ideas every now and then, but the salary was one I had under the Definitely Not Boneheaded column.
I thought it after paying players in the original game. It just felt video-gamey paying extra based on degrees of success. What if a slave-girl had died?
PLAYER 1: "Aw, I couldn't save 'em all. I feel bad."
.
NPC: "7 out of 8 survived. You did your best. Here's 1000g for defeating the Prince."
.
PLAYER 1: "What about my 500 bucks for saving the slave-girls?"
.
NPC: "One died. Sorry, no bonus."
.
PLAYER 1: "I thought it was 62g, 5s per slave girl! For a lousy thousand, I could've just killed the Prince and let all the slaves die!"
.
NPC: "But wouldn't you have felt bad?"
.
PLAYER 1: "Beats feeling ripped off!"
Rather than itemize/monetize every goal in an episode, I'd rather we just focus on creating fun adventures for each other.

this should be fun once my OC joins.
Caledon Whitetree |
If Vetalia and Caledon already know each other, is it for me to use my crafting skills and her gold to make items for her?
Vermilion Vixen |
Yes. We use our own gold for own items, but can use our skills to let teammates get items at material cost.
Dr. Mavrin |
How about that by the time Cal reaches the tower he finds Aurddolen dead of stroke or heart attack? Cal takes the wizards gear and finds a note in the mad wizards hand, the only clue to Jenni Thacher. A single name. Ozloff.
I have realized I put the wrong name for the person with info. I don't know how I managed to mess this up but the name I ment to put was Splorer. Sorry!
Vermilion Vixen |
@WW, if you want, you can arrive at the scene where the others are headed. Let me know (in the discussion thread) when you're ready.
You'll need to wait for my description of the scene to piece together what is happening.
Vermilion Vixen |
Jessica, would you like to start at the stable with Cal and Dr. Marv, or arrive at the scene of the [undisclosed]? I'm thinking you and WW can just be there, as if arriving on foot while already in the area. It would effectively work out so everyone coincidentally arrives within about a minute of each other.
Vermilion Vixen |
Okay, feel free to post based on what was described. The image isn't meant to be a clue—just my way of confessing I got the address from a Power Puff Girls episode.
Caledon Whitetree |
The froghemoth fight brought Caledon down to his last spell in 18 seconds. He pretty much had THIS mental reaction and is now loaded for bear.
Vermilion Vixen |
@Newcomers, your initial posts are fine. Going forward, however, please let the GM speak for NPCs and such.
Johnny already has his guard up because he's into me. I intentionally mislead you guys with truthful clues. For example, 'women jumping off the roof' is not going to lead to something terribly depressing. It's not a prank either.
The clues to the real threat are already being dropped, but not to the extent you can make a prediction (yet).
Cashara Aivion |
@VV Ya, I'm ready.
I would have dropped my stuff off at a hotel first though.
Vermilion Vixen |
Um... auto-correct creeped me out.
Johnny is ON to me. ON! As in I think he gets how I GM. I'm predictably unpredictable, just like auto-correct.
@WW, you can just appear on the scene with no explanation as to where your stuff is. Also, you can have a home in Westedge (west side of Rooftopolis) instead of a hotel room, if you prefer.
Cashara Aivion |
My stat points don't want to save.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
or how to put the info bars up?
Cashara Aivion |
Just found a way around it.

When you gave us cart blanch to describe the shops and venues I took it as implied that we'd have to give the NPCs like Julie and Mr.s Blont personalities too. I didn't intend to overstep and wont do it again.
On the flip-side of that, I'd rather you not place our characters. I.E. A wizard with his water damageable spellbook onto a jury-rigged gang plank between a damaged pier and a sinking ship. Or a rogue in the open on a brightly lit path. Jess was working on an intro where she wasn't on Seamus' payroll yet. She was in Tea-shop spying on us with her hat of disguise but changed it when you moved her ahead of the party and set it in stone that she's already an official patrolwoman.
I'll explain the GM/PC narrative etiquette to her better. I wanted her first post to be completely in her own style and was deliberately not reading over her shoulder. Otherwise I'd have explained that taking over the dispatcher was not kosher. I think she'd assumed it was OK because of what I'd one with Julie.
Also I'm rushing to finalize our gold spending before combat starts. Jessica is finally happy with her inventory. She compromised and is now only carrying 24lbs of knives.
Now that I've time to look at MY character, I think I'm going to drop the wand of snowball. It fits thematically with episode but is too expensive for what it provides.
...not to the extent you can make a prediction (yet).
And yet my mind is already whirling.
Caledon Whitetree |
No one over-stepped or made any kind of etiquette breach. You understood correctly: I was allowing you a little more creative freedom (before) just to let you ease into the game world.
I just mean don't do that going forward, since now I'm at the point where I intend to keep you guessing.
Understood!
Vermilion Vixen |
Vermilion Vixen wrote:...not to the extent you can make a prediction (yet). And yet my mind is already whirling.
By all means, let it whirl. The where-this-is-going will be possible to predict before you get there.

VV, before I respond to the screams (squeals?), is there a party going on inside the house?
Cashara Aivion |
@VV
if I had a friend who wanted to join, could he?
I is sort of interested in joining in the fun of Pathfinder as a whole, but if he was at all interested in joining, I would like to know if he could.
Dr. Mavrin |
Ok I'm going to wait a tad before posting. I'm almost done with Marv! I just need to finalize equipment and finishing details! In the mean time here is a list of extracts (Pretty mush spells) that I have currently prepared.
Lv 1:
Keen senses ×2
Crafter's fortune ×1
Cure light wounds ×2
Shield ×1
Lv. 2:
Spider climb ×1
Elemental touch ×1
Vomit Swarm ×1
I also am gonna say that Marv has prepared his mutagen and the catalysts
needed for his bombs.
Normally only the alchemist that made the extracts would be able to to use them but Dr. Mavrin has the Infusion discovery. Translation, anyone can use my extracts!
Vermilion Vixen |
VV, before I respond to the screams (squeals?), is there a party going on inside the house?
Since your character was thinking it, the Perception Check led to that conclusion.
I was out with the family Christmas shopping so I had to wait until I got home to post the check results.
I love that a gun is drawn! But don't worry—I won't mislead you to the extent you start killing innocent people. I'll post the scene in a bit.
...
So much for a small group! Well, I was trying to make a game for new members.
Some tips for this site, WW:
When speaking, use (b)"Blah."(/b) to talk, but with square brackets so you end up with "Blah."
You can also (i)silently think stuff(/i) or make (ooc)an out-of-character notation.(/ooc) With square brackets: silently think stuff & an out-of-character notation.
