Hi people! Thanks for the selection, GM, and thumbs up to every other one selected.

Teminkar Tavuus |

Hi folks. Teminkar is a local, his family the Tavuus' are a local clan of thugs and petty criminals, though Teminkar is the black sheep - honorable and hard-working, most recently hired in as a caravan guard. He has returned to Sandpoint and is looking for something a little more adventurous.
@Igmutanka - Looks like Tanka is a local, if not a native. And so Teminkar would know of him if not know him personally. I imagine Teminkar would not exactly know how to take the wild Shoanti, but would probably admire his skills and prowess.
@Brom, how long have you been in Sandpoint after being rescued by Shalelu?

Lydia the Liberator |

Checking in, excited for being selected! I'm out of town until Wednesday, so my posting might be sporadic until I return.

Fane Nulvshanti |

Hi everyone! Thanks for the invite @DM Red-Handed. Excited to play!
Fane is a wandering Varisian, part of a Varisian caravan. I did have the connections to Koya Mvshanti because of that. I wasn’t planning on it being Sandru’s caravan but that could make a lot of sense in which case I would know @Teminkar

Thank you! Tanka's prowess has yet to be tested by the relentless d20 :P
I'll have a look at all your backstories between today and tomorrow.

Sandpoint has more industry and culture than it's size would suggest, but it's still a small town of ~1200 people whose population walks everywhere. Those of you who have resided in Sandpoint for any length of time have probably at least seen each other, even if you'd be hard pressed to put names to faces. Those of Varisian heritage even more so.
While Varisians are a substantial part of Sandpoints population, they are still a minority compared to the mostly Chelaxian settlers from Magnimar.
Brom, Teminkar, Fane. Sandru's caravan is the most regular stopping through Sandpoint, though certainly not the only. Most caravans heading north choose the Yondabakari route along with river, with it's safer roads and better trade access. The Kaspakari way along the Lost Coast simply doesn't have enough to entice most caravan masters, and skirting the edge of the Fogscar mountains is a risk most would rather do without.
With the annual Swallowtail festival and the dedication of the cathedral, Sandru and his band are sure to have rolled into town for the occasion.

Tobar Palar |

Checking in.
"I'm very glad to meet all of you. Those of you who have been in Sandpoint for quite awhile probably already know me and my good friend Jakur"
Mechanically, Ciprian is largely a support character although his pet cougar is fairly combat capable. He is built to be able to get reasonable effects without spending spell points, ESPECIALLY if he has time to prepare. And can be surprisingly effective with healing WITH those spell points, albeit only a very limited number of times a day.
So, looking at the other characters.
Igmutanka is a Shoanti of the Lyrune-Quah who has been in Sandpoint for 4 years. Ciprian is the son of a shaman from the Lyrune-Quah. They HAVE to know each other.
I'd suggest that Ciprian has come to Igmutanka a LOT to learn more about his Shoanti heritage. Ciprian views Igmutanka as a close friend and ally, almost as the brother that he has never had (I'll let you decide how he feels about Ciprian :-)).
Brom: I don't really see them knowing each other as of yet.
Teminkar is a local so his and Ciprians paths MAY have crossed. But it sounds like they move in very different circles so it is equally likely that they have NOT
Lydia - Pretty much the same as Teminkar. Paths MAY have crossed but they move in different circles
Fane: Since Fane is ALSO a friend to the Mvasshti family its pretty likely that Ciprian and Fane have at least met at some party or other. But given that Fane only sporadically comes to Sandpoint the relationship may be little more than an acquaintance.
Of course, given his skills, its quite possible that Ciprian has met just about ANYBODY in the past if that person needed his magical skills (most likely healing since, adventurers. But also his nature oriented skills)
[Aside]The Scholar is a very nice class, isn't it? Everything you want in one package. I quite like the Spheres of Power books, at least after just reading them. Lots and lots of possibilities get opened up. [/Aside]

Brom Arrano |

Brom is originally from Magnimar but has been traveling with a few different caravans for the past few years. I'll say he's been with Sandru for the past year, just so there's some familiarity with part of the group already.
Igmutanka, Lydia, Ciprian: It looks like they have been living in Sandpoint for the whole time Brom's been on the road, so they may recognize each other from Brom's frequent stops here but not be really familiar.
Teminkar, Fane: It seems they have been traveling together for the past year or so. Brom is a fairly open and earnest young man, always curious to learn new things, so he probably would have talked to them at length about their experiences and become fast friends. Either way, I think there would be some trust and respect there already, at least on Brom's part.
@Ciprian yeah I'd never seen the Spheres system before now, and I like how it's pretty much build-a-class. I'm interested how this guy works out in practice; he looks pretty fun on paper.

Lydia the Liberator |

Yeah, based on backgrounds, Lydia would probably be at least casually familiar with most of you--she has Knowledge (local) as a skill, after all--but not know any of you very well. She's something of a loner by nature, and her spiritualist powers are not common knowledge.
It's going to be interesting to be the only girl in your boys' club. ;)

Teminkar Tavuus |

Ok, Teminkar knows Brom and Fane from the caravan. Teminkar may have been the impetus for the other two to stop off at Sandpoint? The three seem to be of similar ages and temperaments - while Teminkar might not be as open as Brim he is earnest, and while not as flamboyant as Fane he will be excited by the Varisian's outlook and travel experience.
Teminkar knows of Lydia, but not much beyond that he has seen her in Sandpoint many times.
Teminkar knows Igmutanka, and by association Ciprian. They have crossed paths much in growing up, and are familiar with each other. I see no reason for enmity, and we can be friends if that helps.

Fane Nulvshanti |

Fane recently left the caravan, at the behest of his parents, to help take care and spend time with Koya Mvshati. I would say that this has been like a month or two. While he made a promise to family to look out for his family friend, he’s itching for some adventure.
@Ciprian I think then Fane and Ciprian have certainly had a lot more interactions in the last month or so, and by association @Igmutanka, the later who’s upbringing as a Shoanti certainly intrigues him.
@Teminkar, not sure you when you were thinking that Teminkar joined Sandru’s caravan but it’s possible that we just missed each other, although I would definitely know @Brom Arrano from the caravan before I left.
@Lydia, the brewery may have been one of the first places that Fane visited when he came to town. I could see him for sake of gaining knowledge interested in the brewing process and occasionally showing up to have a share stories and drink some fine local alcohol with the brewers.

Teminkar Tavuus |

@Fane - from my understanding, Teminkar joined the caravan in Sandpoint, and completed a round-trip. I'm not familiar with all the routes, nor destinations.
@DM Red-handed - how far does Sandru's caravan travel?

Fane Nulvshanti |

Depending on Red-Handed’s answer, I’m fine with Fane and Teminkar just missing each other, as he probably would have stayed in sandpoint the last time it came through. Although you’d definitely have met my parents who are a part of the caravan, Dmitri and Petra.
@DM Red-handed. If it’s alright with you I was thinking Dimitri could be like and older guard/advisor to the Sandra and caravan while Petra I see as being like Harrow Reader to make the caravan money but sort of doing the odd end jobs like seaming and cleaning, stuff like that.
His mother is where Fane learned how to do a Harrow reading, or at the very least go through the motions of harrow reading.

Re: Terminkar: Tanka should know Terminkar. Actually, he regards him as living proof of how bad is prejudice: not all Shoanti are honest, not all Tavuuses are thugs.
Re: Lydia: Should also be known by Tanka, though poorly they don't have much contact. She's probably seen as too posh, something that will (hopefully) be proven Wong once they start being involved in some adventures
Re: Brom: Being from Magnimar and only occasionally stopping by, I guess he must be a familiar face, but nothing more than that yet.
Re: Fane: As with Brom, we've probably meet recently, and are still just acquaintances.
Re: Ciprian: Probably the best known of all to Tanka. How old is Ciprian? Depending on who's older of the two the relation could change, as the older could usually see the younger as his protégée. Tanka has also told Ciprian a lot about the Shoanti and the Lyrune-Quah, and has been tought about Variarían customs in return. Tanka, being also scorned due to his origins, can understand Ciprian and would probably support him in that matter. About traveling to Shoanti lands, well... maybe in the future?
I see quite a good mix of characters here, both story and mechanic wise. It's gonna be a blast!
Also, you've probably notice my mistakes when writing in English - sorry about it. In game, please don't ignore it; use it at your own will to create funny situations where your Shoanti friend just made a funny mistake, a la Gloria Pritchett.

Ciprian is also 18 :-). So, mischievous almost twin brothers? :-) :-)

Teminkar Tavuus |

@Tanka - sounds good. Teminkar would appreciate that I'm sure. And while we're at it, Teminkar can be shortened to Inkar or Kar. But not for some reason "Tem". Because that, apparently, would be silly.

Lydia the Liberator |

I'm back in town, ready to begin once the GM is ready!

Fane Nulvshanti |

Bummer, I wanted to see what Spheres was all about too and it seems that fate is still conspiring against me ever using the Card Caster Archetype lol.
@Lydia, also I really dug your backstory with the runewell and spirit of the town. Really cool connection there!

Lydia the Liberator |

Thanks! Hopefully the GM is just busy and will check in soon. If not... Ah, well.

Tobar Palar |

Well, it wouldn't be the first time I've gone through a recruitment and been picked only for the game not to start. Nor the second time. Nor the....
Yup. There definitely seems to be a set of people who think it is amusing to get people interested and then drop them.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their crotches.
Note - hopefully GM Red Handed is NOT one of those people. Hopefully.
