Haddek Balmont
Haddek places his bow on his back and slowly begins to circle the room in the opposite direction of Caro. He watches the madman carefully, wary of being attacked. "Ok, we'll help catch it. You stay there, we're covering the other angles. Careful now!"
He glances back at the others, making sure he has help if the madman turns on him suddenly. Keeping his eyes on the threat, he waves his allies forward into the room.
Berta Lighthammer / Far-Spear
|
Berta's brow furrows, though whether with concern or irritation is difficult to say. She glances at Sustos behind her and mutters, "This... is..." She looks as if she were about to say more, but shakes her head with a sigh. "One of you watch the door? I will go in, make sure things do not get out of..." She pauses for a moment, concentrating. "Hand. Out of hand." She shakes her head, muttering irritably in Shoanti as she steps cautiously into the room, longhammer resting against her shoulder.
Moving into the room. Readying an action to konk the guy on the noggin for non-lethal if he comes at me or Haddek (won't reach him if he moves toward Caro). Or attack the snake for lethal if it comes near any of us. Berta don't mess with snakes.
Sustos the Guardian
Sustos shrugs at Berta then his eyes pop as he comes to understand. He taps Berta before she walks in.
"It's mimicry, they're acting as if they're helping it in order to establish trust, I think. Similar to baiting an animal."
He smiles and nods, satisfied with the way Caro is handling the situation. The less fighting they do the better.
Ileum White
Seeing the group is intent on wrestling the snake, ileum looks closer trying to determine if he may know something of use about the creature.
knowledge nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
GM Nightfiend
The snake moves back and forth trying to avoid being caught by the hunched over man who seems to be intent on capturing the thing. As the door opens and everyone enters the room, the snake bolts straight towards the door. This initiates Berta’s prepared action, which brings everyone into initiative. While the snake heads for the bulk of the group, the hunched over monkey-man screams in the background, “NOOooo, DON”T KILL IT!”

ROUND ONE (Bold may post.)
Sustos:
Haddek:
Ileum:
Caro:
Snake:
Tiasar:
Monkey:
Berta: (-3hp/p)
Ileum White
Ileum squints, leaning a bit closer to get a better view of the snake as it darts across the floor. After a short moment his eyes widen and he clumsily reaches for his bow.
"That snake is poisonous..."
He says as he hesitates to draw his weapon, unsure how to proceed.
Sustos the Guardian
Sustos steps toward the door and plants his shield sideways across the barrier as he sees the snake make its way toward him. He then bangs the shaft of his mace against the edge a few times to create noise, attempting to keep the small creature at bay.
Five foot step, I can roll something if you want. Not sure how you'd play that out xD
Caro Martisova
Thank you for reminding me of the Knowledge roll, knowing what type of snake this is would be useful. Now that I read all the milking/harvesting rules I need to remember to actually use them. Knowledge(Nature): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Caro lunges towards the snake, dropping her spear and smacking it as hard as she can with her hand, hoping to stun it or knock it out. I might have a use for this alive myself...
Unarmed Attack vs Flatfooted: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage (non-lethal): 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
That's probably enough to knock out a tiny snake
"Don't worry, friend! We won't kill it just knock it out for a bit. Can't let it get away!" She continues to watch the man cautiously waiting for his response.
Not sure if the map was updated with the snake's location after it "bolts straight towards the door". Wherever it is, I move to 5 feet away from it and then drop my spear. I will move my token once I know if/where the snake moved to; spear will be at my feet in new location
Haddek Balmont
Haddek begins to move toward the snake when he hears Ileum's warning. He pulls up, looking at the monkey man warily. "Easy there, we're not going to hurt it. What's your name? My name is Haddek, that lady's name is Caro; she's just going to knock it out so we can catch it, okay? We're not going to kill the snake." He takes a step forward, hands out to the side to indicate a lack of aggression.
Diplomacy to keep him calm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Ready action to trip him if he comes within reach
Trip: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Oof, I really hope he stays friendly lol.
GM Nightfiend
ROUND ONE SUMMERY.
Sustos: Sustos moves over and drops his shield in front of the door. The large barricade serves well to fill the open doorway, preventing anything small from leaving.
Haddek: After considering the poisonous snake, Haddek turns and attempts to calm the monkey-man. The primal man seems to calm a bit as he stairs aimlessly at Haddek.
Ileum: After tinking about the snake for a moment Ileum announces what he knows about it and then draws a weapon.
Caro: The alchemist moves over and punches the small snake, which causes it to roll over and twist before becoming unresponsive. A soon as she lands the blow, the monkey-man’s eyes widen as large as he can make them and he screams, “NOOOOOOO, It’s DEAD!”
ROUND ONE (Continued.)
Sustos:
Haddek:
Ileum:
Caro:
Snake: (-5 Nonlethal, unconscious)
Tiasar:
Monkey:
Berta: (-3hp/p)
Tiasar is up.
Tiasar Soseshtian
Tiasar holds up his hands non-threateningly. "Please be calm, she only knocked it unconscious. Unfortunate and our apologies, but we do not wish anybody to be hurt, including us."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM Nightfiend
ROUND ONE SUMMERY. (Contiued.)
Tiasar: The wizard makes an attempt to reason with the monkey-man after having watched the snake get sacked. In response the monkey-man tilts his head as if trying to understand the wizard’s words and then diverts his attention back over at Caro.
Monkey-Man: The mist infected monkey-man becomes enraged at the sight of Caro punching the snake into unconsciousness and then steps over to her and brings his hands into a powerful downward swing. "You DIE! You kill wiggly thing!"
(Attack) Monkey-man vs Caro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 (Miss!)
(Damage) Monkey-man vs Caro: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
ROUND ONE (Continued.)

Caro:
Snake: (-5 Nonlethal, Unconcious)
Tiasar:
Monkey:
Berta: (-3hp/p)
Berta is up.
Berta Lighthammer / Far-Spear
|
With a sigh and a shake of her head, Berta steps forward with longhammer in hand.
With that, she swings her hammer, pulling off at the last moment to keep from killing the man.
Nonlethal Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 4 = 5
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 = 9
Pfft. Nope.
Caro Martisova
Berta. It's ok. You solo saved us last fight you can miss during this one if you want.
Berta Lighthammer / Far-Spear
|
But but but. I wanna hit ALL the things! D*:
Caro Martisova
It's ok. You'll get him next time *hug*
Just did some reading. I guess if I do a normally non-lethal attack like unarmed strike, I can still get sneak attack damage. If I use a weapon to do damage using the -4 attack, I can't get sneak attack damage. Might actually be better to keep punching....
Berta Lighthammer / Far-Spear
|
Going by the numbers, yes, I think you're better off. 1d3+1d6 comes out to a damage range of 2-9, while a spear is a damage range of 1-8. Plus it's fun to KO people when they're not expecting it. :D
Caro Martisova
After sidestepping the man's swing, Caro takes a quick step to straddle the tiny serpent and place the man squarely between her and Berta. She yells "Look closer! It's just asleep!" Hoping that all this motion and noise disorients him, she jabs at his face.
Unarmed Attack + flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Sneak Attack (cuz flanking): 1d6 ⇒ 2
Tiasar Soseshtian
Seeing little resolution in sight but violence, Tiasar pulls out a vial of acid and points a finger at the man. "Uvelucal kax!" The vial glows for a moment as Tiasar's hand radiated green, and an orb of acid springs from his fingertips to strike the man!
Ranged Touch (into melee): 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 3 - 4 = 7
Acid Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Acid splash.
Ileum White
Still hesitant to kill the man, Ileum steps forward into melee combat and attempts to trip the monkey-man with his bow. Leaving himself open to an attack.
trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Haddek Balmont
Seeing the situation devolve into violence, Haddek shrugs and steps back to watch it unfold. I'd just be in the way anyway.
As he gives the combatants some space he pulls out his bow just in case the fight goes against his new allies.
Sustos the Guardian
Sustos is going to move forward 2 spaces with the intent on intercepting if the crazy man runs. Should have prepared different spells lol.
GM Nightfiend
ROUND TWO SUMMERY.
Sustos: Moves into the room and prepares to give chase in the Monkey-man tries to flee.
Haddek: Steps back and pulls out a bow.
Ileum: Attempts to trip the Monkey-man, which opens up his defenses and allows an attack of opportunity. (Trip successful)
(Attack) Monkey (Slam) vs Ileum: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
(Damage) Monkey (Slam) vs Ileum: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Caro: Bends down and punches the Monkey-Man in the face. (Successful, 9 nonlethal damage)
Tiasar: Fires a globe of acid across the room, missing its intended target and striking the room’s back wall.
Monkey-Man: Attempts to get up and attack Caro. (This provokes an AoO from Ileum, Caro, and Berta. If the monkey-man is not unconscious from the AoO’s he will attack Caro.)
(Attack) Monkey-man vs Caro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
(Damage) Monkey-man vs Caro: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
(Attack) Critical Conf.: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
(Damage) Critical: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
ROUND TWO (Bold may post.)
Berta: (-3hp/p)
ROUND THREE (Bold may post.)
Sustos:
Haddek:
Ileum: (-3 hp)
Caro: (-5 hp/ pending)
Tiasar:
Monkey: ( 9 Nonlethal )
Berta: (-3hp/p)
Caro Martisova
(This provokes an AoO from Ileum, Caro, and Berta
Since Caro is unarmed at the moment, she can't do an AoO. RAW says "If you’re unarmed, you don’t normally threaten any squares and thus can’t make attacks of opportunity." Wish I could tho lol
If the man is still standing when it gets to Caro's turn:
Caro's eyes flash in anger from the slam that the man gave her. I'm starting to rethink boxing when I could just stab this man Taking advantage of the confusion granted by the crowd surrounding him she makes a few fake jabs and then goes at him with a hard swing to the side of the head.
Unarmed Attack + flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 = 20
Unarmed Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
SA cuz flanking: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Haddek Balmont
Now that the man is surrounded by Haddek's allies, he decides he's probably safe to enter the fray. Taking a few steps forward, he fakes a kick at the crazed man's knee, hoping to distract him enough to open him to someone else's attack.
Aid Another on Caro's attack: 1d20 ⇒ 10
I know it's pointless because I'm pretty sure she already hits, but Haddek doesn't know that, and now he thinks he's helping :)
Berta Lighthammer / Far-Spear
|
Probably already unconscious, but just in case...
Berta goes in to bop the man on the head again, taking care to pull back before dealing serious damage.
Nonlethal Longhammer vs Monkey-Man: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 4 = 14
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 1) + 4 = 11
Woof! Nappy-time stick GO!
Berta Lighthammer / Far-Spear
|
Bonk!
Nonlethal vs Monkey-Man: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 4 = 2
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10
I'm gonna go way out on a limb here, and say there's a chance that may have missed.
Ileum White
Ileum take a five foot adjustment and holds for the round.
guna skip on the AoO, too many negatives to improvise my bow as a melee weapon and do non-lethal damage.
GM Nightfiend
ROUND THREE SUMMERY.
Sustos: Holds his position.
Haddek: Performs a kick like action to catch the monkey-man off guard. (Aiding Caro's attack)
Ileum: Moves back and also holds his position.
Caro: Attempts to punch the monkey-man. (Provoking an AoO.) The punch lands squarely on the monkey-mans noise, knocking him out.
(Attack) Monkey-man (Slam) vs Caro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 (Successful hit)
(Damage) Monkey-man (Slam) vs Caro: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
(Attack) Critical Conf.: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 (Not confirmed)
(Damage) Critical: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Tiasar: Fires another globe of acid, which sizzles on the back wall.
Monkey-Man: KO
Out of combat rounds.
GROUP'S CURRENT CONDITION
Ileum: (-3 hp)
Caro: (-7 hp)
Monkey: (29 Nonlethal)
Berta: (-3hp/p)
After Caro knocks the man unconscious the mist can be seen leaving his body.
Caro Martisova
As soon as the man is out, Caro retrieves her spear, points out the body in the toilet stall and then searches both the body and the rest of the room carefully.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
After searching the room, realizing that the man will take some time to regain consciousness, she returns her attention to the snake. "While he was under the effect, he had some kind of use for this. Now that he's cured, it's probably better to kill it. We don't want a poisonous snake around." She sits down in the corner with some of her tools and the unconscious snake, and spends about 10 minutes working on it before placing it carefully in her bag. "When I was young I used to do taxidermy. I think it would be nice to start up again, so I think that I'll hold on to the snake and see if I still have any talent in that area."
Roll 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Roll 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Roll 3: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Haddek Balmont
Now that the battle is over, Haddek carefully searches the room for anything else of interest, paying particular attention to the dead body in the stall.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
That done, he walks over to the unconscious man and feels for a pulse, checking to make sure he isn't dead. "You ok? Wake up!" It would be very inconvenient if we accidentally killed an innocent man. I hope we still get paid.
Berta Lighthammer / Far-Spear
|
Berta looks over Caro, brow furrowed. "You are injured." She turns to the others. "Does anyone carry healing?"
Caro Martisova
Caro glances up at Berta and then down at herself, a little surprised. "Oh, you're right. He did hit pretty hard. Don't worry I'll take care of it." After she is done searching the room and taking care of the snake, she prepares and drinks an extract before putting her tools away.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Now all my post-fight actions take 12 minutes plus however long it took to search the room. Guy should be out for a while though, unless someone heals him
Sustos the Guardian
As the corrupted man falls unconscious Sustos relaxes, he knows the group had the situation handled but not being able to do more put a damper on his demeanor.
"A few of you are injured, I see, allow me... United we forge the path to salvation!"
Sustos points his mace to the sky; at the pinnacle a burst of energy hurls towards those around, filling them with vigor.
Channel Energy: 1d7 ⇒ 5
Tiasar Soseshtian
A d7 channel energy, now that's a new one! I would love to have a 7-sided die :P
Tiasar leans against the wall, heart pounding but not nearly as frightened as he was before. Allies swarming in melee while I stay in the back. That's how this should usually go, right? "Well...well done." His eyes flash white as he scans the room again.
Detect magic, sweeping whole room.
Ileum White
Ileum watches Caro begin to poke and prod at the unconscious snake. I sure hope that snake wasn't important.. then he shivers at the thought of himself being in the snakes place and uncomfortably walks back over to Tiasar.
