I plan to level up the same character - a dwarven bard focused on buffing up and throwing hammers. Will rethink whether I need Fighter dedication or not.
You may want to take a look at all the archetypes in the revamp. If you are doing this just to get heavy armor or extra HP, there are other archetypes that do the same thing as well now.
