Welcome and thanks for signing up for this Gameday VII run of "Ashes of Discovery" folks! If you're here, you're coming over from my original table of this scenario as part of the flood of interest there was in this game. I'm excited to play with you all, and I'm glad there was so much enthusiasm about signing up for this scenario!
First off, I'd like to introduce myself a bit to those of you who haven't played with me before. I'm GM Mjolbeard. I've been playing SFS since its debut last year, much of which has included PBP as a venue. I highly value the game, and love to do as much as I can to throw in a lot of role-play with my roll-play, as the saying goes. With that in mind, here are a few expectations that I will hold for myself as well as my players in this game:
1) Please try to maintain a posting rate of 1+ post/weekday. Weekends are almost always busier for me than weekdays in one way or another, so I may or may not post during that timeframe. I'd accept the same from you. Within those posting rates, I'd love to see as much role-play from each of you as you feel comfortable with. Particularly good role-play can potentially earn things like circumstance bonuses on various rolls.
2) Please list important information about your character in the Classes/Levels section of your stat block. Please also have your full character sheet available in your character's profile. If you're at all unsure what I'm talking about, feel free to take a look at my SFS characters for some examples.
3) I'll roll initiative for combats and perception for potential surprise situations. I'll also provide information for knowledge checks in spoilers with the DCs listed. Please refrain from reading the spoilers unless you make the DC with the appropriate skill check.
For all those who are coming over to this table from my original table of Ashes of Discovery, please do me a favor and repost the information for your character requested below using the template I've provided. This will make things easier for me when it comes time for reporting and putting together chronicles, so this is for your benefit too! You can also dot in on the gameplay thread with your character of choice.

This is the Discussion thread for my TABLE 2 game of Ashes of Discovery. The party here should consist of the following PCs:
Emissary-to-Him
Uafluozhaheed
Revvy Bitterleaf
Frinke
Shaudius
If you're not one of those PCs, please head back to TABLE 1.

Other boons: The alien archive racial boon of course.

So are there limits on race options? Do I start at lvl 1?
First, nice to see you in a game. As being in Starfinder Society you are limited to races in the Core rulebook, unless you have a boon(something earned by doing something special, racial boons are usually one time use) to let you play as another race. Frinke for example is a race obtained with a boon.
Also, yes you start at level 1 with 1000 credits to spend, though there are boons that can let you start at higher levels or higher credits, boons which you do not have yet.
Edit: Dm should probably remove this character from Table 1, so people don't accidentally think I'm over there.

Day Job: None

yes, nice catch

![]() |

side note: If you need another for the other table I do have a lvl3 ranged soldier

![]() |

So we have:
10331123 - pilot
Elric - turret
Caverian - wanted to fire the spore gun
Uafluozhaheed ...captain? No engineering or computer skill as far as I can tell, but some diplomacy
Frinke - one of the light lasers
If we can manage a fly by at some point..all 3 of our gunners should be able to fire in the same round, which i think might be our best tactic with this crew..and try to keep a side with some shields pointed towards the enemy since we can't repair (or re-balance) anything.
This will be ...interesting

Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide

![]() |

For easy reference (but all available ships are indeed in the tarfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide
STARFINDER SOCIETY PEGASUS TIER 2
Medium explorer
Speed 10; Maneuverability good (turn 1); Drift 1
AC 12; TL 12
HP 55; DT —; CT 11
Shields basic 40 (forward 10, port 10, starboard 10, aft 10)
Attack (Forward) light laser cannon (2d4)
Attack (Port) light laser cannon (2d4)
Attack (Starboard) light laser cannon (2d4)
Attack (Turret) coilgun (4d4)
Power Core Pulse Green (150 PCU); Drift Engine Signal Basic;
Systems basic medium-range sensors, crew quarters
(good), mk 1 duonode computer, mk 2 armor, mk 2 defenses;
Expansion Bays cargo hold, escape pods, science lab,
tech workshop
Modifiers +1 to any two checks per round, +2
Computers, +1 Piloting; Complement 4–7
Note that you can only fire a gun if it's arc is pointing towards the enemy (turrets are in all arcs) so (unless we do a fly-bye) we can only fire 2 guns - one of which is the turret
And we still need to exchange one of the light lasers for the spore gun

GM Mjolbeard |

I also have the Pegasus stats on slide 2 for you folks, and have placed the spore gun in the forward arc as you mentioned previously.
The map for the battle itself is on slide 1.
You can find the slides at the link in my header where it says "Ashes of Discovery Table 2".

![]() |
So not much point in firing the spore gun anymore since
Multiple hits from a spore weapon do not have any additional effect if the ship is already subject to the effects of spore damage.
And since they failed the last check to stop the spore damage, at the end of this engineering phase...so now... the power core will be wrecked and they’ll automatically fail every check to stop the spore from spreading since it doesn’t count as a patch or hold it together in addition to -4 to every other roll, this battle is over

![]() |

It still does 3d6 per hit...but you are right...
MUAHAHAHA!! PLANTS!!

![]() |

Here's a curiosity, what happens when all systems on a ship are wrecked but it still has hull points left? lol

![]() |

So..I shared the situation with my play group and they proceeded to chastise me. Also, part of that was them expressing sympathy GM for you having to deal with it.

![]() |

Sorry, am I too late to the party. I’ll be honest I comepletly forgot I signed up for this...
Edit: seems like I am, oh well. Hehe. Best of luck guys!

GM Mjolbeard |

Eth, I think the rule is that a player has to participate in two-thirds of a scenario to receive credit. We're just finishing up the first encounter, so I'd say there's still time for you to join if you'd like.

GM Mjolbeard |

Hey folks! We've arrived at the reporting deadline for Gameday VII, so I am going to go ahead and report the game for us, since I'm confident that you all will be able to knock out the remainder of this scenario with relative ease. This will also qualify us for a gift certificate drawing! Yay incentives!
Speaking of incentives, because you lovely folks joined this game during PbP Gameday VII, that also means you all qualify for a chance at a Starfinder Society boon! I'll go ahead and roll for everybody just to expedite the process for reporting.
For those new to rolling for Gameday boons, here's how it works. I'll roll a flat d20 for each participant, including myself. On a 19-20, that person wins a boon. I'll then roll a d2 to determine which boon that person will get. If you win a boon, please send me a PM with your email address so the coordinators can send you your boon.
With all that out of the way, here we go...
GM Mjolbeard boon: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Frinke boon: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Elric boon: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Caverina boon: 1d20 ⇒ 6
10331123 boon: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Uafluozhaheed boon: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Looks like Frinke's a winner! Let's see what he's won!
Which boon?: 1d2 ⇒ 2
If I'm not mistaken, I believe that is the Mining Laser starship boon! Congrats, Frinke!
Now, let's go ahead and wrap up this scenario, and I'll get you all your chronicles ASAP!

GM Mjolbeard |

You're right, Elric! I was out of town and my posting ability was cut short after I botted Caverina. Sorry for the confusion.

GM Mjolbeard |

Both security creatures are down and the way is clear to the Exile! Let's finish this up, folks!
As an extra bit of incentive, I'll inform you that I'm already working on your chronicle sheets, so the faster you put down the Exile, the faster you get your chronicles!
To quote every envoy worth their salt: "GET 'EM!"

GM Mjolbeard |

With the Exile defeated, you have overcome the final threat of the scenario! Congrats!
As promised, here are your CHRONICLES!
Please let me know if you notice any missing or erroneous information. Otherwise, I will plan to mark this campaign as inactive after the weekend. Thanks for joining me for a great game, folks! I look forward to gaming with you all in the future!
