I can have Nabila cast a slow poison spell because she should have leveled herself up to 4th level and she is able to cast 3 light wounds spells and Liath can cast one more. Your character can still survive as long as the healing spells outstrip the amount of HP damage you take from the poison. And Fadilah can send her gen to retrieve a Neutralize Poison spell. It will be a tight run thing. Nabila can cast Slow poison twice which would postpone the onset of the poison by 8 hours. For the entirety of that 8 hours you can act like normal. Muluk is a day's ride by camel, but of you make a raft you could probably get there earlier. These are all longshots but possible. I would roll up another character just in case anyway.

Fadilah al-Qadib |

I cannot get neutralize poison because its level is too high - that, combined with being priestly magic, drives the success rate below 0%.
Base 50 + 15% from caster levels - 40% for 4th-level spell - 30% for priestly magic = -5%.

and Liath can cast one more.
I was about to say that I can cast three more...but now I'm down to 2 after this. =3
"Noooooooooooooo," Liath croons as another trap goes off and mortally wounds Zaheed.
"Surely such a dastardly mechanical thing can not beat us! Nay nay, Zaheed, rise again and do good service!"

You used one during the fight. So in this case you have one left. Zaheed, you should roll up a new character.

Nura Hamdani |

Nura removes the book with great care, handing it off to Fadilah, then retrieves the potions, carefully gathering up each.

Fadilah al-Qadib |

Fadilah gratefully accepts the book and handles it with care and reverence. Showing the respect that poets have for the medium, she simply clutches the book close, keeping it safe, and does not attempt to peek at the contents... at least for now.

Nura Hamdani |

"Zaheed was a good warrior, and a friend, for however short a time we knew him. I would see his body returned with us and given proper arrangements."

GMEDWIN |

The party decides to strap the treasure and Zaheed's body to the mules and then you say the magic words to leave Sakina falls complex with Rashad in tow and you make your way back to Muluk.
You do realize that Zaheed would have been angry because it seems as though the Half-Elf woman stole one of your camels but you have gained 3 mules.
You follow the mule path to retrieve your camels and then you ride along the river and then cross where you crossed before.
The sun goes down and you make camp along he river.
GM Rolls
You see in the distance a strange looking large boulder.

Fadilah al-Qadib |

As the sun is setting Fadilah helps a bit with cooking, then just sits and examines the large bound book a bit - though again, she never opens it. Instead she puts it back into her pack with a sigh.
"Beautiful sunset though," she murmurs. Her gaze sweeps across the horizon watching the colors and skipping over the rock. It's just a rock, after all.

Nura Hamdani |

"Mmmm," Nura nods, only half-listening. Her eyes are on the distant boulder.

GMEDWIN |

You get back to Muluk in the late afternoon and you waste no time meeting Ayyan where you had agreed to meet.
She is there with another uncovered woman and she ushers you into the bushes to stay out of sight of prying eyes and others.
She says, "Najm, be praised, you were very quick to get there and back. Do you have the ledger?"

Fadilah al-Qadib |

Fadilah produces the large book from her pack. "Is this the book in question? We had good fortune and certainly Fate smiled upon us."

She says, "Thank you great Shai'ra, your deeds will be spoken of fondly."
She starts to flip through the book and says, "Urhmm yes, the contents of this brass-bound ledger contains a detailed account of Yodfah’s 11 businesses. He is involved in selling gems (for which he is best known, his primary business), pack animals, and cloth; he owns eight private baths and three secret wineries (like the one at Sakina Falls) catering to the pampered elite of Muluk. Although his gem, animal, and cloth businesses are completely legal, his distribution of wine and other alcoholic beverages within city limits is not. Not only is alcohol forbidden by the Laws of the Loregiver, but the fact that the wine is sold secretly and the proceeds hidden from the Caliph’s tax collectors makes it a double crime."
She then says, "I know your warrior friend was reticent to go on this quest and he seems to not have made it back but I will tell you the whole tale. Six months ago, a naive traveling merchant from Afyal purchased nine sapphires from Yodfah, a well-known and powerful merchant of Muluk. Thinking that the stones would make a beautiful gift for his favorite wife, my mistress, the noble had them worked into a necklace after he returned home and presented the jewelry to his wife. Now she is a wise woman, and while she was greatly flattered by her husband’s present, she perceived that the sapphires were all flawed, fit for little better than gravel on the bottom of her husband’s carp pool. Rather than reveal this and let her loving husband think that she did not appreciate his gift, she made up her mind to be avenged secretly on the gem merchant who had taken advantage of both her and her husband. To accomplish this, she sent her most trusted and cunning maid servant, Ayyan, to spy on Yodfah and gather enough information to bring about the dishonest merchant’s ruin.
Three months ago, I was able to infiltrate Yodfah’s household as a waiting woman in the merchant’s harem. From Yodfah’s loose-lipped wives, I learned that the merchant is involved in running a secret business and clandestinely hiding his earnings from the Caliph’s tax collectors. I knew that if I could obtain these records and show them to the tax collectors, the merchant would be heavily fined and thrown into prison. My patience was recently rewarded when I had been able to trick one of the merchant’s foolish wives into revealing the protected location of his hidden records. I heard of your reputation and thought your group would be appropriate and discreet."
She then hands you the remaining amount of gold as per your agreement 600 more gold dinars.
She then says, "I would like to introduce you to my companion Zairiah, she has been instrumental in keeping me safe throughout this ordeal but once I bring this to the city guard, we will not be safe. I suggest that Zairiah joins you and that you should leave the city."

Zairiah |

For a moment, doubt and excitement warred on Zairiah's face, but when she turned to Ayyan her face was clear.
You are certain that you will be well, dearest Ayyan? I would not wish to leave you in harm's way.

Nura Hamdani |

"Welcome, Zairiah, to our small band." Nura looks to her companions. "I suggest we make haste."

Zairiah |

Zairiah responds to Ayyan:
I will go, since it is your wish, but take heed to your own safety as well, so that we may meet again in Afyal in better days. May the gods watch over you.
I'm going on the assumption that they must have discussed this possibility previously, and this is mostly social custom at this point, making sure that she is certain... otherwise Zairiah would have a much harder time leaving her friend in danger, even if she is also eager to join some adventurers.
Then she nods to Nura's comment about haste, gathers her scanty possessions, and joins the group.

GMEDWIN |

The group makes their way to the docks where they had moored their Dhow and verify all of the provisions have been delivered which they have been.
The Bard says, "Now that we are provisioned, we need to head towards the Genie's Turban to get to the Golden River. I so look forward to writing songs about you with my zither. I know it is bittersweet our last adventure."

Fadilah al-Qadib |

Fadilah bits farewell to her employer and boards the next ship with her companions.
"So, Zairiah, it seems you have known Ayyan for quite some time?" she says as she stands on the deck, by way of making small talk.

Zairiah |

I have known her most of my life. Thank you for helping her. ... I hope she will be okay after reporting to the authorities.
She then realizes that she is being rude and she hasn't even really introduced herself to her new companions.
Excuse my rudeness, please. I realize that I did not introduce myself earlier in our haste to be gone. I am Zairiah, a humble merchant from Afyal. I came with Ayyan here to help her, but she also knows that I wish to increase my wealth and station so that I might someday start my own trading company. I hope that I may be of service to you. I have talent with haggling and bureaucracy, and am quite good with locks and traps, should we come across such... although I do not have many talents that will assist you on a sea voyage. My apologies. I do have contacts that will allow us to buy things in bulk as well, should you have need of shipping large quantities to make a profit...
She sees that she is losing her audience, and so ends with
Please tell me more about your group and yourselves. What are your goals in this undertaking?

"Well, my name is Fadilah; I am a poet and a scribe, and I have on occasion had truck with genie-kind... thus far without incident, Fate be praised! I hail originally from the City of Wands, but I chose to escape a cruel task-master and strike out on my own to find a fortune and a story for myself on the desert winds. Thus far we have had many unexpected adventures, with sailing-ships and magical waterfalls hiding the holes of bandits and trapped genies and more! It is quite a lot to take in, especially since it has all happened in only the last few days," says Fadilah.
She seems comfortable on the deck of the ship, wisps of her hair occasionally blowing in her face, but clearly she has gotten her sea-legs and become at least accustomed to ship-travel, though she is far from a skilled sailor.

"I am called Uthman bin Assad; my people, my family were slain by giants. I have joined with these fine travelers hoping I can do some good on our travels, and because they have been kind to me, an orphan without my tribe. I am a swords man, and a desert rider."

GMEDWIN |

A haggered looking religious man steps forward and says, "My name is Rashad. This band saved me two days ago and I have bound myself to their service for the next year and a day."
The Bard says, "Well our group has received a map to find the Golden River whose waters are supposed the healing kind and may help the Grand Caliph be healed from what ails him."

Zairiah |

Zairiah's eyes grow brighter at Fadilah's description of their adventures, and she smiles as more people join in with additional explanation.
How wonderful to meet you all. I am honored to be traveling with such an interesting group of people. Poets and swordsmen, magical waterfalls and genies, and now off to find a river of healing? It sounds exciting... and honestly also quite dangerous. I will endeavor to do whatever I can to contribute to our success.
You get the impression that she is trying to stay grounded by mentioning danger, but is actually overjoyed by what she has just become a part of.

Nura Hamdani |

Nura smiles a disarming smile and replies, "I'm sure that you will do well with us. My name is Nura and I prefer the ocean to the desert. The smell of the salt air, the spray in your face..." She shakes off her reverie. "Fadilah and I have been together for some time now. Our journies began with a marvelous talking fish."

Fadilah al-Qadib |

"Oh, yes, just like in the old stories! A talking fish that had been misplaced, and of course someone wanted to cook it..." says Fadilah. She trails off, letting Nura continue the tale.

Zairiah |

And what happened then? asks Zairiah.
She continues to smile, her attention focused on the story, and although she doesn't fully realize why, she feels happier than she has felt in a long time.
