Class Abilities:

Corsair:
A corsair can attack with two
weapons without penalty—a benefit similar to that of
the ranger class. All other restrictions for two—weapon
attacks apply (see Chapter 9 of the Players Handbook),
but the corsair suffers no penalty to attack rolls.
The corsair may also take rogue proficiencies
without spending an extra slot.

Corsairs may not begin play with armor
heavier than studded leather (AC 7). They are permitted
31

to wear armor heavier than leather, and some higher-
level corsairs do. However, swimming is impossible in

metal armor. And corsairs cannot employ their special
benefits when wearing armor heavier than AC 7.

Scholar Priest:

If he wishes he may turn Weapon Proficiency slots into Nonweapon slots and thereby become a very skilled character.

Also, the Scholar receives a +3 reaction bonus from other scholars, admirers of scholastic concerns, writers, journalists, and people who imagine that they are scholars.

*Notes on Punching Specialization:

From the Complete Fighters Handbook:
Punching Specialization
If a character spends one Weapon Proficiency on Punching, thus taking specialization with Punching, he gains the following benefits:
He gains a +1 bonus to all his attack rolls when punching;
He gains a +1 bonus to all damage when punching;
He gains a +1 chart bonus with all punching attacks;
He gains one additional punching attack per combat round

A character using a Cestus does get to add the bonuses to attack rolls and damage from Punching Specialization to his Cestus damage. If he has specialized in Cestus too, he can decide from round to round which of his bonuses he will apply this round. Additionally, you may use the Cestus attack's attack roll to determine which Punching maneuver was used with the attack; you still use the damage for the Cestus instead of the maneuver, but now also have the possibility of a knockout.

Backstory:

After escaping her tyrant father and arranged marriage she jumped onto a ship of reavers, and won their begrudging respect for a time.

Unfortunately they sought to win the favor of their chief by instructing her to be his "gift". She disagreed vehemently and they tied her up, to decide her fate after the big raid.
