Hi all. We are on another brief hiatus. I'm really busy taking some training courses out of town this week. All will resume Thursday night.
When we had a brief lull before the rising of the humans, several people had declared some actions they wanted to do. Please confirm if you are still planning to do as declared. I will go back and reference any rolls you already made.
Also, for those that were up drinking in the inn late at night, could you please advise where you plan to sleep at night.
(Clyde I think you are the only resident of the town, so I have assigned you a house near the woodworker's shop.)

Sorry for the extended hiatus. Last week took a lot out of me. My wife has also been gone for a week and returns tomorrow. Without getting too graphic in detail -- today is cleaning day.
I should have some time to get us back up and running and ready to deal with the next "wave o' undeath".

I still want to slaughter too. Life so dang busy right now. Between extended hours at work (for about 2 more weeks) and currently I am doing prep work for a significant interview I have on Friday. Right now, the worse case scenario is another week and a half delay. The best case scenario is that Saturday I might be able to get us caught up.
Sorry again for all the delays. I wanted to keep this rolling along steadily, but dang life has gotten in the way -- mostly attributed to work. On the plus side, there is a light ahead in the tunnel :)

Good news. 1 more week (after this week) of working my arse off, and life will be back to normal. I can return to having some work-life balance again :)
Work is really burning me out right now, and I am close to being a mental vegetable when I get home each day. I am really looking forward to being done my current duties.

I'm looking forward to starting things up again on the weekend. I work night shifts starting Sunday though, so it means most of my posting will be during the days until Thursday of next week.

DM Kor |
Alright, lets pick things up where we left off and see how many are still around to fight another day.

Did we get a value on the number of barricade sections we have available?
I won't start barricading the well if I only have 20' of material. I'm hoping I'm smart enough to look at a bunch of junk and figure out how much barricade I can make.

DM Kor |
On with the show. I suspect things will slow down again around x-mas time, so here's hoping we can get the next set of encounters done before then. I'm going to my wife's company x-mas party tomorrow, so I may not be able to update until Thursday night.

What is the typical climate where the village is? The pitch of a roof is generally related to the amount of snowfall received. (Flat roofs are less expensive, don't generate as much heat, and only a shallow pitch is needed for rainfall.
What are the roof's made from?
Thatch? we could climb up into the rafters and stick our heads through.
Flat shingles? Toss a rope over the roof and get pulled/climb up. Loop a rope around a chimney for more secure ascending/descending.
clay tiles? Most expensive option, also worst for getting on the roof as the tiles will break.
Knowing that we have several people interested in being higher up, would we have had time to build any perches?
A small platform with angled braces (think of a pair of sawhorses) would allow one person to have a seat.

* The climate it is cold to temperate.
* Currently it is mid summer.
* The area does light snow fall in the winter and rain occasionally in the other seasons. Accordingly, all the roofs have a mild to moderate pitch.
* Most of these roofs are wooden shakes over boards.
* You would have had time to make up to 2 perches (or more if someone wants to make a DC 12 carpentry roll for each additional one).
* The only roof in the center of town with a mild pitch is the first story of the General Good Store.
EDIT:
- * No alarm bells, but you could borrow some cow bells from the general goods store.

I have placed everyone on the map now. I have also added the 2nd story floor plans down in the bottom left of the map.

Just got in late from a Christmas function, I will have to wait until tomorrow to update. On the plus side, after tomorrow I am off work until January 6 :)

DM Kor |
Hi all. I am completely caught up in what I like to call "Holiday Hell". Boxing Day all things should return to normal :)
Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays to everyone.
EDIT: And by Boxing Day, I mean Dec 26th -- I just remembered that this holiday does not exist in the U.S.

DM Kor |
Sorry all, just going through a little time crunch crisis again. All should be back to normal after the weekend.

Time management has never been one of my strong suits and life is making me do a lot of work (for me) at this time and will probably continue until early winter... I regret to say this but I will have to resign from all of my PbP's, not just this one.
