Zombie Apocalypse in Golarion!

Game Master Kor - Orc Scrollkeeper

Adventure Background

It’s been well over 1000 years since the last Starstone was brought down by necromancer cultists worshipping the Whispering Tyrant. In its wake an undead menace spread across the lands which threatened to destroy all life on Golarion. It was only through the rare act of banding together, man and beast, evil and good, that the undead scourge were defeated. In those times the Protectorate formed and led the fight to eradicate all undead and necromancy in Golarion.

With all necromancers killed, necromancy spells destroyed, negative planar artifacts obliterated and all undead hunted to extinction, Golarion has prospered for the better. Many of the common populace doubt that the undead in the tales which bards tell, ever existed at all.

Life in Haldors Spring is quite peaceful. Founded over 100 years ago, the township of 70 persons simply serves as a waypoint for travellers in Taldor. Its most notable feature is the spring-fed well in the middle of town, which provides crystal clear, pure water. Sages over the years have studied the purported curing properties of the water, however no trace of magical augmentation has ever been found.

The Pure Well
This covered stone well provides access to clean and crystal clear spring water, bucketed up from about 5-feet below.

The Gnome Tower
Although no one knows the official name for the tower, the Gnome Tower name is the common reference for this ruined tower which is the only structure which sits atop the Mound. This ancient round tower is of fine dwarven stone architecture. The tower is two stories tall, but experts have said that the base could have held a tower eight or more stories high. Its resident is a gnome apothecary named Frizwold. Although many have heard his last name, no one has been able to pronounce it. Frizwold is rumored to have lived in the tower even before the town was founded.

Brigar’s Boarding House
Run by an old dwarf, this place serves as residence for many transients who have not yet decided to settle into the town.

Snoring Eagle Inn
This inn and tavern serves as the main social hub for the town. Decent rooms and food are provided here. The place is run by the half-elf Jeric Elsworn and his family.

Haldor Center
This building serves as an administration center for the town’s mayor and watch captain, Gerrin Hartly. The building also contains 2 cells for holding persons arrested by any of the town watch. Aside from Hartly, there is always 1 watch member on duty at all times. There are a total of 8 members of the town watch.

The Mound
A large hill that rises to about 20-feet high is located in the northwest section of town. It has become a popular play area for children of the town.

Healing House Rule:
Magic of any type (spells, spell-like abilities and supernatural abilities) which heal a creature is always inherently beneficial in nature. The total of all dice rolled to determine the amount healed, always provides a minimum of half the possible result before any bonuses are added. For example a 1st level cleric casting a cure light wounds spell will confer a minimum of 5 points of healing (half of d8 result is 4, +1 for a 1st level cleric). The recipient heals the better of either the rolled result or the modified minimum result.

This rule only affects those that heal from the magical effect. Undead would benefit from this rule when an inflict spell is cast on them, however the damage they suffer from a cure spell is as per the normal rules.
