We should send her PMs about staying on board. She has a good character concept and talked about being in overwhelming company before you picked her for the game.
As flattering as that is for the rest of us, her character is a fine idea and I am sure more than one of us was glad to see she was chosen. Maybe she just needs to know she's wanted.
You know, without being creepy. So that leaves Isaac out. :b

Sorry for the extended absence. I fell behind on a few things following GenCon and I got pretty bad about procrastinating as I saw the message count grow. Thanks for the kind words about Talyssa and the PM to give me a much needed kick in the backside. I should be back to regular posting now that I'm caught up.
I also have a new portrait of Talyssa and Skimmer to show off! (from Zeitgeist artist Claudio via the Kickstarter)
Devinn LeMont |
Hey michaelane great to see ya! And very cool portrait! Devinn is a big fan of Talyssa (Jet) of course, so I'm looking forward to getting into collective trouble with her on these missions. I'm guessing it's from a 3PP, but your fusion of Talyssa's magic with metal tech is really unique, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out in post...perhaps sooner rather than later with whatever is going on behind the door there.
Hehe you and Steven probably passed by each other at Gen Con and didn't know it. I need to plan a trek up to Indy next year and see what all the hooplah is about...though with it being the weekend before my kids start school I'd have to earn up a lot of good husband points before I pitched that idea :)

Not giving it all away yet :) Love what you're doing with Docker culture too.
Gen Con is awesome! We go every year. PFS is getting bigger every year. I heard 250 tables this year. I GMed 8 slots (including both levels of Bonekeep) and played the other 2. First year GMing for my 17-year old. He ran 6 slots and had a great time. My 14-year old will probably be GMing next year. Gen Con hops around a little so some years it is before school starts for us and some years after, but it's a tradition now for us. Older one is looking at Illinois or Purdue so assuming he gets in, he'll continue to be nearby for at least another 4 years.

Hey guys, I'm back thanks for understanding.
In other news, I recived a PM from a friend of Devinn who is interested in joining us since Anya dropped out. He dosen't have much posting experiance, but I am in a game with him that is run by Barcas and his posts thus far have been very good.
Any thoughts on adding another player in? I know how I can add the player in, but I like keep decisions like this amonst the group.
Devinn LeMont |
Yeah I'm biased as Cromlich is a RL friend of mine and has been part of my monthly tabletop game for years now, but I think you would find his posts of good quality...and also like myself he favors a strong posting frequency.
Like Ifris, I'm holding on Round 39 a bit to defer to the action below decks...as Devinn mainly just has more snarky messages to throw her way for the time being. What's with the attitude towards Ifris you ask (okay you probably didn't ask)? Well that will be revealed in a FLASHBACK at some point...though probably best to let that simmer until after our combat challenge!

Yeah..I should have ben more clear. What I meant was that the spell only provides a +2 Bonus to Strngth, so a +1 bonus on Strength checks.
For break DCs like doors and such, Large creatures get a +4 on Strength checks. SO what I am really saying is by rule, Alastair gets +5 over whatever his normal Strength bonus is.
As always, the GM rules, but if you want to reward Talyssa for smart use of the spell, the vanilla rules already give him +5 bonus.
F. Castor |
Hmm... I did not know that about Large creatures actually. So, a total of +5, right?
I think the DM was also unaware of that, going by his post, and the idea of the added +2 was to have it explained by the increased size and mass. But since Large already includes that notion in its +4 bonus...
The Clockwork Shadow |
Balls in your court guys, when / if this devolves into combat I plan to us to use a modified set of zone rules. I wanted to use the map I posted, but without access to googledocs that is now impossible. Right now there are three “fire sprites” in the room as well as the standoff with the halfling butler. We aren’t in combat yet, but we are still initiative. I will post up the stats for the butler as well as the “fire sprits” shortly in case you do decide to attack.
The Clockwork Shadow |
Also, in case anyone was interested, the reason why Sorkana could teleport was due to her levels as a wizard with the teleportation subschool. Teleportation won't work on and off the ship due to the gold inlay that has been fused into the outer hull, but it will allow movement inside of the ship.
A knowledge (planes) check of DC12 would tell you that the "fire sprites" are the stats of an intelligent fire beetle, can speak ignan and have immunity to fire damage.
Ifris Lanvaldan |
Haha, well. Giant terrorist-fish kidnapping kind of ruined that I think.
"So, the... king was killed by mermen assassins. Why, uh... didn't you-- "
"You said not to interrupt the party!"
"Yes, but-- the stabbing was--"
"Part of the show!"
"No. It-- Those were his organs. He needed those."
*cross arms* "I was just following orders!"
Devinn LeMont |
Hehe I was thinking of having Devinn try to do some damage control on that front (or at least obfuscate it to avoid a panic), but alas that's in Round 38 for him ;)
I love the fact that Ifris made the assumption that it was a kidnapping - makes perfect sense based on the visuals on the top deck!
The Clockwork Shadow |
Thats correct, and sorry for the bad posting. My internet is at fault, I swear. I will recap round 39 and move us into round 38. I will roll init for the group and post the stats for each of the foes in spoilers. Rheg, the halflings will save is +0 (+2 vs fear). Anyone who has not posted for round 38 please post. If you wish to do a combat action I can roll initative now, or we can wait until 38 to start.
The Clockwork Shadow |
Evening guys, now that my internet is back up and appears to be strong, I have posted the round recap for 39. I will work on setting up round 38. I will roll initative and post stats for the foes at the bottom. Please remember to follow the combat example for posting that was provided for on page one when making posts. Fair warning, the butler has a readied action to cut Anya's throat if anyone attacks, so you will have to beat his initative in order to act.
Devinn LeMont |
Well, I rushed that post out because I am unsure of the net. Sorry its not to my usual quality. I'll go into more depth with the recap now that we are hitting a combat.
It's looks good actually in terms of a recap, so no worries there BUT I noticed that you have cloned Devinn with four separate initiatives! MUWHAHAHAHA! FOUR Devinns! Now what could I do with four Devinns running around the ship? Let's see...send all four to surround and bug Ifris? No no she's doing real stuff. Hmmm...how about a 4-Devinn quartet and Docker's Jank? Release the Devinns! ;)
Devinn LeMont |
@Devinn: I avg the rolls, so your initive would be at 14. I'll do better next time on rolling for you.
Yeah but it would be much more fun if we had twelve Devinns running around the ship...think of the scene in the second Matrix movie with Agent Smith. Only all of the Devinns would be talking and carrying on.
Devinn LeMont |
Well, so much for not interrupting the party =p This will be cool.
HA! "uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?"
The Clockwork Shadow |
As I read it, the halt function of the command spell is the only one that takes effect immediately, as the rest say "on its turn" to start. I also took the liberty of taking a very literal reading of his readied action. Let me know if that is a no-go.
@Rhegalion: Taken from the PRD:
Readying an Action: You can ready a standard action, a move action, a swift action, or a free action. To do so, specify the action you will take and the conditions under which you will take it. Then, anytime before your next action, you may take the readied action in response to that condition. The action occurs just before the action that triggers it. If the triggered action is part of another character's activities, you interrupt the other character. Assuming he is still capable of doing so, he continues his actions once you complete your readied action. Your initiative result changes. For the rest of the encounter, your initiative result is the count on which you took the readied action, and you act immediately ahead of the character whose action triggered your readied action.
By my reading, because command is still a standard action to cast, Illyan's action interupts yours. I.E. making a single attack vs Anya and then your action goes off and he has to hold for 1 round. It's unlikely that the attack will kill her, but it will drop her into negatives and leave a wicked scar. Then again I figure he has sneak attack against her.. so lets see.
