Something about three free fleas sneezing in cheese trees while freezy breeze blew. Loved that you got that reference. Also, you have to imagine that Dr Seuss really wanted to incorporate a sleazy tease in there somewhere (probably lost it when looking for keys on his knees, or evading the bees with ease on his skis). Heh. What a wheeze. Laughs please? Damn, it's a disease.

Sorry, been a little absent from PbP today. With all the floods, the schools have been closed in our district all week. Today, I did a little nerdy daddy-daughter thing with some minis that finally arrived through all the water on our streets.
One of the proudest moments of my father-life:

Looks like good times with the new Seeker Arc in there!
If you're up for it, text me your table number for Thu PM 7-98 and Sat PM 7-99 and we'll see if we can sync up! We'll be doing 8-00 at tier 5-6. John will be with us for the Thursday game, so if we can do any of them, that would be the one to do!

Also (and Lockwood might be really interested in this one) there is a Pathfinder Design Rules Workshop on Friday from 10am to 12pm. That could be pretty fun as well.
Hopefully more sleep this year than last year.

Looking forward to it, too!
Silbeg, I hope you enjoy the Gallows at PaizoCon, whichever of the three adventures you'll be playing. Mine's the third one, in which you investigate the abandoned Sarini estate.
Looking forward to it, Mikko!
Question -- you looking at running a pre-Gen Con game of your level? 'Cause if you are, I'd love to be in, and I will ask that Amanda not run your level!

I'd say it's unlikely, unfortunately. Assuming the module officially debuts at GenCon, I'll probably get my contributor copies only after I return to Finland. Not sure when the PDF will be available, though.

I have to say that I am disappointed not to see a PaizoCon recap, live blog, or Snapchat from Jack.
A==Besides Starfinder, any news Jack? Anything cool happen? Or does what happens at PaizoCon stay at PaizoCon?
Maple Bacon Bourbon at the very least?
Dude, there is so much here in the Bloggery. You should be proud of your boys and their detailed accounting of their weekend assery.
Man, there is a lot of documented assery there. You should be proud of the team. They are amazing. And fun.

News? News?
You could also check out the PFS blog post, 'cause it talks about some cool stuff.
Cool stuff:
- Horror Adventures -- corruption, 7 levels of fear, lots of Lovecraftian joy
- PFS will be going to the inner planes (both high and low tier)
- PFS: Elemental-kin are the new races, and the old races are not going away
- Other stuff? See the bloggery... honestly, it was overwhelming.
Got to play Mike Kimmel's level for Gallows... so Mikko's will still be surprise. Was great playing this module with Amanda Hamon Kunz GMing... she's absolutely a great GM! Mike was also watching! (lurking in person... so he's one-upped you, Mikko).
So much fun this weekend. The PFS Faction pins are totally cool... for some reason I had to get all of them, especially since there will be an in game bonus for them (not a reroll, but a faction specific skill bonus if you have the pin)
Finally played a game of the Adventure Card Game Guild... with Painlord, of course. Of course, being Painlord, I had the wrong deck (well, all I had was Merisiel, so I used it). Still, I rocked it with her, much to Painlord's consternation. He actually said two things he never thought he would say... 1) "Jack, you didn't suck", and 2) "Do it like Merisiel!"
We introduced the world to Pathfinder SWAT! A well balanced team of "cops"... all are gunslingers, but all have a specific Cop/SWAT role (sniper, medic, K9, etc), a personality trope (Rookie, "I'm too old for this s$#!..." etc). A few more rules, but quite a good team. When he heard about them, Thursty swore that we wouldn't do well in Bid for Alabastrine. He was WRONG! We OWNED that scenario. Totally.
The AssHats were also a hit.... more about that later.
Kashka |
Ah the AssHats.... where Lucious and Doc Tracy both lost the "pimp off" to Naerta... good times.
And when THUNDERLIPS! Finally got to give his veiny shaft into the crystal womb speech....
This being a day and change after Jon shouting/singing "I'm a little teapot" during the banquet... 20 bucks is 20 bucks man.
Besides.. who better to save the biggest AssHat in pathfinder society than the AssHats? "He may be an a$$hole, but he's OUR a$$hole!"

Fair enough.
It was interesting, and I am looking forward to running it on Saturday night.

Grr, Mike Kimmel, my dear nemesis. Same initials and all, he's from a mirror universe. (Or is it me? I'm not sure!) Does playing Ward Asunder at GenCon count as one-upping Mike? I'll pick a stealthy character and stay hidden all the time. Ultimate Lurking.
Glad to hear you enjoyed PaizoCon! In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of PaizoCon, compared with GenCon?
Also, Lockwood, are you still alive?

Hey, man. How's everything going for you?
I'm still alive and well. In fact, I'm (very) slowly making a comeback to the boards and posting sporadically here and there, returning from my long absence. Somehow, I was lucky enough to see this note from you. Also, I'm still planning on going to gencon, so if you're there as well, you'll have to put up with me shaking your hand and saying hi :)
Kashka |
We tend to play alot of PaizoCon - as there's little incentive to gm. As opposed to GenCon where GMs are rewarded with accommodations - so we do the full GM gambit there.
I prefer GenCon overall - the structure is in place for constant gaming. PaizoCon has alot of downtime if you are not into seminars - and the afternoon "pickup games" were less than successfully managed (too many of repeated mistakes from the previous year).
If you don't GM, and are only into playing PFS - i'd probably recommend PaizoCon.

Thanks for the analysis on paizocon vs gencon, Kashka! I went to Paizocon last year and really enjoyed it. Played a few PFS scenarios and went to quite many seminars. The venue was good and the atmosphere was friendly, so no complaints. As for GenCon, it'll be my first time and I'm very much looking forward to it. It's awesome to finally meet the amazing Zedroom folks in person!
Lockwood, I'm afraid you'll have to endure more than just a handshake and a "hi"! We'll have to play a few scenarios, have a few pints/pitchers/barrels of beer, and maybe even sing karaoke. :D

I'm down for all that, dude. Except for maybe the karaoke. The last time I tried that was with Steve, and in Korea, where I butchered one of my favorite songs of all time :)

Hey Mikko... getting very excited! So, would be great to have your contact details for our Thursday game. Send me a PM with your email address, and I'll add you to the list of editors for our 2016 contacts spreadsheet so you can add in your mobile phone number, email, etc.
Man... 49 days to finish my miniatures painting. Better step it up!
Oh, and now I really want to see Lockwood do Karaoke.

Something to remember, Mikko... It Comes in Towers... (beer that is)

I don't ever want to see Lockwood do Karaoke again, mostly because I am still trying to scrub the memories of the last time out of my brain.
It wasn't so much that you couldn't hit the high notes, it was the way that everyone's ears bled when I butchered it even more than you.
Talk about harmony...

Oh, we just have to go to the Wild Beaver Salon.
"Rowdy bar with a mountain lodge theme, scantily clad waitresses & weekly karaoke."
Very close to the Convention Center. :-)
Mikko Kallio Contributor |
Everyone will be disappointed if Lockwood doesn't do karaoke. ;-) Take On Me *does* sound like a risky choice, though... Anyway, Wild Beaver Saloon sounds ideal for the purpose. 50c Beaver Brew on Thursdays?!? Count me in! Scotty's sounds good as well. Sounds like a plan.
Jack, I haven't signed up to run any scenarios at Gen Con, but I'll let you know if I'm running it or anything else I've written.
