LeBrix mentioned that his investigation involved Danoran factories, the boat where it looks like the Shadowman was summoned was owned by a Danoran factory, and someone *not* Gail has been burning down factories - and I remember you mentioning that both Risuri and Danoran factories have been burning. I was hoping to see which burnings *weren't* Gail in the hopes it tells us something about who the other factory burners are or if there's a link to Danor.


That makes sense. I'll put up something shortly.


All right, I've finished crosschecking my notes. Gale's responsible for the burning of several factories - both Risuri and Danoran. She'll name off the ones she remembers, but without information from the Danorans, you won't be able to generate the sort of inclusive list that you need. However, based on what Gale tells you, you now know that the majority of the burned factories (several dozen, in fact) were caused by someone other than Gale.

By the way, I wasn't trying to speak for everyone, more like discussing terms. I believe the general feeling of the group was to work with Gale, but if someone is opposed, perhaps now is the time.

I am wondering if we should try and arrest her. Her leaning in would make a great opportunity to grab and grapple. But I suspect we'd end up in 'You challenged a boss way over your level, asskicking will now commence,' a moment.

That, and I'm not sure that she hasn't actually brought reinforcements hiding beyond my scent range. And to be fair, she did apparently speak in good faith and agree to cease hostilities. Not double-crossing her might grant us some favor with the Hidden Court.

It's also worth noting that we agreed to cease hostilities as well - it'd speak ill of us and the RHC if we just jumped her. That said, the higher-ups might want us to do it anyway. She's a terrorist after all, even if she's told us that she's not responsible for a lot of what she's blamed for.

Well...it's not anything agents of a government haven't done in the past in the real world. As bad as the terrorism is, there's potentially a much larger threat at play here.

It's in Gale's best interest to cooperate right now, too. She might be a terrorist, but it seems to me that the woman at least has some scruples or a code of behavior or something; I doubt she's going to much care to have a multitude of fires that weren't her responsibility attributed to her.


So, what's the consensus?

I'd say so, yes. Meeting with Cippiano and Gale was... interesting but I think Doctor Wolfgang's our best lead.

Since we don't really have a plan of acton for finding Kell, lair seems good.


You know that Kell's lair is somewhere in Parity Lake, but that's it at this point. Finding him can be easy or difficult, depending on how open you want to be. Openly asking around will likely get you an audience very quickly. Using Prestige, calling in favors from local contacts, and searching the area yourself is doable as well but will likely take significantly longer.

From a meta standpoint, I'll tell you that the investigation into Nilasa's death has three major threads that can be followed. You've fully completed one (Heward Sechim --> Nevard --> Gale). The second (invisibility potion, bail ticket, and Nilasa's criminal connections) was time-limited and has expired - but probably wouldn't have been incredibly useful in the grand scheme of things. The third thread revolves around Doctor Wolfgang.

So, my next words and actions will largely depend on how much we want to stab the guy.
In a surprise round I can't both draw and attack (Martial Flexibility can't come too soon), but I can try to trip him and get a weapon later, then use him as cover against the shooters. This could endanger Doctor Wolfgang, so it depends on whether we think it best to capture/kill Kell or get the doctor. The box could offer cover from the armed audience and I have caltrops for running.
If we want to threaten him, things could easily degenerate to the case above. I vote for this option.
If we try to be diplomatic/negotiate maybe it's better if Corynne has the first words.

Pretty much, yes, using Kell as a human shield. I also have a vanish potion that could be used to some effect. Although I realize it might be hard.

Yeaaahh...I'm with Corynne on this one. Taking crazy risks is one thing but trying to fight our way out of this is just plain stupid. In my opinion, of course.

I know the dude is a thug, but we've already kinda walked the line with a wanted terrorist. At the absolute least, Az wants to hear what Kell has to say before we commit suicide by flunkie. We didn't come here to pick a fight with Kell, we came to try and set up a meeting with Wolfgang. That's priority.
