I'm going to be honest here and say that I have no idea how much money Az actually has on him. I've kept up with stuff that we've requisitioned for assignments, but I realize now that I totally forgot to go into HeroLab and add actual gold we earned that was our own from the very beginning.

If necessary, I'll go back through everything and track down a total.


@Azaghal: If I remember correctly, each of you received around 1500gp upon reaching Level 2. That's a combination of salary and stipend, so hopefully that'll help. 1500gp - requisitions total should = roughly what you have available.

If that's the case, then I say we hand over the money. 333 GP from each of us, or if we include the others an ultimate division of 200 GP each, is small price to pay for not killing the guy. I also think we should try and diplomacy him to leave the man alone and get him to some medical help.

I'd channel my inner Marcus Furius Camillus and pay in steel, rather than gold, but if you'd rather bow to yet another crime lord, I'll go with you.

Do I like the idea of it? No, I think it sucks. But the way I see it, we have three options:

1) Pay Kell off

2) Murder an innocent docker who is presently being beaten to death

3) Try and kidnap a struggling Kell and hope that one of his flunkeys doesn't shoot us in the back/side/face, which will probably also get the docker killed and is very likely gonna get at least two of killed, too. Three of us can't hide behind one guy, after all. And, even if we are successful in that, we still have to talk Kell into giving up Wolfgang's location.

I'm not a big fan of voluntary TPK which is basically what fighting it out will be. If every person fires a single shot we're pretty much all but guaranteed dead. For all we know Kell can take all three of us by himself without breaking a sweat.

Alice having a kamikaze streak is cool and all, but I don't think we're in a hurry to have a cool death over doing things the smart way, distasteful as it may be.

I'm really sorry for how scornful my last post sounded, I wrote it in a sleep-deprived hurry and it came out way more contemptuous than I wanted it to be. What I meant was what Corynne said, Alice doesn't want to bring you with her in a death-seeking blaze of glory. And as cool as it would be if we pulled it off, I realize it's pretty much impossible.
So yes, we got ourselves in a pretty bad situation and paying is the best idea, living to fight another day. Sorry again for what I said.


Seeing as it looks like you've decided to pay Kell, I just need someone to write up a Gameplay post and figure out where the money's coming from.

I'd think saving his life would definitely be worth calling in a favor at some point. If that amount of gold - requisitions = what we had available, I'm just gonna make things easy and reset Az's wealth to 0 gold. Or maybe some small amount, 10 or 15, with YBD's ok. Y'know, enough to live off of for a little while, basically, but no more than that.

I would also suggest that we take some 5' steps to get better positioning. My idea is Miselle-Me-Az as back row, Ellena-Empty-Corynne as front row, with a free spot corresponding to the entrance. That way we can have cover and a good flank.

So my ghost strikes are negative energy effects......not sure that's a good idea right now.

If you don't know what to do, I still have two oils of magic weapon that you can (maybe, rules are weird) pick from me and apply to someone, and I think someone has ghost salt blanch.

I'm debating between throwing something at him with Telekinesis (Nothing big though), summoning a ghost to grapple it for a round or telekinetically grabbing either the oil or blanch before engaging,

Telekinesis could harm it, maybe, as it's a magic effect, although it uses mundane ammunition. I'd go with the ghost, gaining time is crucial at the moment.
If you need something harmful to throw, I'll pop out a dagger with my next swift.
