[Early Morning, Thistletop, 8th Day After Goblin Raid, Thistletop Level One]
A short, narrow passage lies in front of you, with a crude door swinging open 5’ away. Beyond this 2nd door, the stone ceilings and walls are of an irregular shape, much like a rough cavern. Crates, barrels, and mounds of miscellaneous refuse lie heaped against the walls there. From the north, the sound of crashing surf echoes, and is much louder.

I just worry that with only 3 rounds of rage left, not to mention the fact that I think I may still be fatigued for a round or two, I'm not sure just how effective I would be personally. Not to mention the spell casters, like yourself, who are running low on spells for the day.

No worries, Zilt is correct that we've rested. Your question put an old Beastie Boys song in my head, thus the quote :)

As an avid fan of their work I caught the reference, but I would have been a pretty shity barbarian if I was fatigued and unable to rage.

[Early Morning, Thistletop, 8th Day After Goblin Raid, Thistletop Level One]
The floor of this cavern seems strangely polished and smooth. To the east, sunlight streams through a thick curtain of vines and nettles hangs down over a wide opening overlooking the Varisian Gulf. Squirming atop the roughened stone of the ceiling, Lleidr comes across a dark blue creature with a conical body covered in angry red eyes and numerous tentacles, two of which are longer than the rest. The longer tentacles begin to unfurl and snake out towards you.
Nich, your action is first, followed by the creature, and then everyone else, starting with Selia.

Lleidr |

Lleidr will see if he recognizes the creature. Is it a roper? If it is, I hope it's that nice Mrs. Roper from downstairs instead of her snooping husband, always wondering just what me and my two female roommates are up to.
Knowledge (Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13, DC=10+monster CR, modified by rarity, +1 bit of info per 5 over DC
As he puzzles over what the creature is, Lleidr will also move out of the way (1 square NW, 1 square W) and cast Magic Missile (no to hit roll needed, no Save, SR applies) at the whatchamacallit.
Magic Missile damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Force damage

Nicholae beseeches his god for divine blessing, and the walls echo with the power of his holy cant.
The creature, a tentamort, squirms 5’ north along the ceiling, its corpulent flesh oozing between knobs of rock slimed in its passage. At the same time, a tentacle lashes out towards the halfling, but is too slow to ensnare the rogue.
Selia grabs her crossbow and fires a bolt at it, which bounces off the ceiling.
Lleidr’s magic missile slams into the creature’s flesh with a sickening thud.
Need actions now for Jubray, Ned and Hakak.

Hakak will move under the monstrosity, pulling out his +1 magic longsword as he walks. When he is directly under the thing he will stab straight up, using both hands, at it.

Selia grabs her crossbow and fires a bolt at it, which bounces off the ceiling.
Hakak runs underneath with murderous intent, but his blade merely scrapes the stone ceiling.
Lleidr’s magic missile slams into the creature’s flesh with a sickening thud.
Sliding over a bit, Ned nocks an arrow and sends it flying near the tentamort’s ugly maw.
Jubrayl charges into the room, but his axe swing falls far short.
Nich, you're up next, then the monster, then everyone else again.

He moves in to attack the 'blob'.

Nich's blade slices off a couple of tangled tentacles, which plop onto the ground and wriggle like beheaded snakes.
The tentamort retaliates, but only manages to smack Jubrayl's shield with its barbed, tongue-like arm.
Hakak and Jubrayl finish the creature, and it slides off the ceiling, falling onto the stone floor with a wet thud, spattering your garments with its slime.
Actions? You all spy a door to the west, which is open and leads into another chamber; this cave area seems to have an opening in the north wall, just east of the door. There's also the southern passage, from whence you entered.
If you refer to the map, on my prior post of results, you'll see this. There appears to be nothing else noteworthy about this immediate area.

Lleidr |

Lleidr will do his best to wipe the slime off, muttering that he never even said, "I don't know." He'll put up the FoE and re-equip 'Tugger, then move a couple squares south and west til he can get a better view of the cave area's dimensions, keeping an eye out for danger.

You can see further into a room lying at the end of the western passage; it appears to be a small square chamber. The passage north continues about as far, but it’s difficult to tell much about it from here, other than it’s roughly shaped like the tentamort lair.
Especially noteworthy here are the stone doors at the end of the western passage. Two large stone doors sit in this western wall, their faces carved with images of horrific, deformed monsters clawing their way out of pregnant women of all races.

Lleidr |

Well, Lleidr doesn't care how evil it is, nurseries mean babies, and a baby anything is just the cutest thing ever! Seriously, Google "baby Cthulu"; even this grumpy old curmudgeon couldn't hold back his "awwww"...you know, before losing my mind in the face of utter horror and alien desolation.
Not wanting to wake the cute buggers, Lleidr will continue to move forward, keeping quiet and looking around.

Nicholae Szabo |

This can only house more abominations - this is place sacred to The Mother of Beasts, Lamashtu. Move fast - the blessing will not last long!
He points the way to the temple doors.
We go there.

[Morning, Thistletop, 8th Day After Goblin Raid, Thistletop Level One]
Stone fonts containing frothy dark water sit to the north and south of the eastern entrance to the room, and twin banks of stone pillars run the length of the long chamber. At the western end, shallow stairs rise to a platform about two feet off the ground. The walls surrounding this platform are lit by hanging braziers that emit glowing red smoke, giving the place an unnerving crimson lighting that throws the bas-relief carvings of countless monsters feasting on fleeing humans into lurid display. A black marble altar stone, its surface heaped with ashes and bone fragments, squats before a ten-foot-tall statue. The sculpture depicts a very pregnant but otherwise shapely naked woman who wields a kukri in each taloned hand and has a long reptilian tail, birdlike taloned feet, and the snarling head of a three-eyed jackal with a forked tongue. The left kukri flickers with fiery orange light while the right one glows with a cold blue radiance. Nicholae immediately identifies the chapel and statue as dedicated to the worship of Lamashtu.
Racing from their airy perch, a pair of emaciated, hairless canines race towards you. They exhibit a strange feel of menace and cruelty. As soon as the doors crack open, both let loose with a horrific, wailing howl which chills the blood. The noise echoes without ceasing into the hallway and rooms beyond. (Need Will saves, please!).
Hakak, Lleidr, then Nich are up first; then the hounds, then Ned, Jubrayl and Selia. The eastern hound is 10’ in the air (but in melee range of Nich and Lleidr); the western hound is partially covered by all the columns, and is also 10’ in the air. They are both flying towards your group.

Lleidr |

Not sure what effect the baying of the dogs will have, but if Lleidr can move and attack, he'll do so.

Braving the unearthly howls, Hakak rushes into the evil chapel, swinging at the emaciated, dog-like creature. The monster displays an uncanny knack for sidestepping the half-orc’s blows.
Panicked, Lleidr flings down his weapon and runs off, hanging left and rushing through several doors, and ends his movement at the foot of a staircase heading up.
(NOTE – I’m going to assume Nich takes a 5’ step backwards, casts, and then steps up to Hakak) Nich casts a spell, and draws his blade, now empowered to banish these abominations back to their abyss.
The closest beast gnashes and snaps at the cleric (6 hp dmg, and make another Will save please).
The second hound bounds out of the darkness, weaves behind a set of column, and hurtles into Hakak, clamping down with powerful jaws (5 hp dmg, and I need another Will save from you also).
Ned has also panicked and is racing up the newly discovered stairs with Lleidr. A quick note on the rooms you two passed: the first one is a small chamber covered in crude drawings featuring many goblins. The larger room looks like some kind of meeting or planning space. (NOTE – the panicked condition assumes a random path and also neither of you are holding any weapons).
With a shout, Jubrayl charges into the room, but the evil hound merely dances above the paladin’s blade.
Selia steps forward with a shot from her crossbow; the shot sails through the chapel.

Lleidr |

Dagnabit :(
As embarrassing as it is for a halfling to fail a fear save, Lleidr's more worried about Ned's old heart giving out from this exertion. As soon as he gets his crap back together, Lleidr will start figuring out how to use the Wand of Shocking Grasp as a defibrillator.
