Simply missed it. Sorry. Nothing intended.

It's alright. I understand since I only put one post.

Hello Unruly GM,

I am aware that I am late to apply since I have seen some good applications, but still I would like to throw my hat in the ring for this one.

I have applied many times to Wrath of the Righteous, but was never able to get into one - Deciding what character to play has always been a cunundrum, looking for a character that could be played and enjoyed to its max in an AP of such heroic proportions, and involved with the theme - I have applied with soldiers of fortune Fighters, rugged outdoorsmen rangers, righteous smiting paladins in shiny armor, life flow attuned oracles...

But in all honesty when I saw your recruitment thread, the idea for the perfect Wrath of the Righteous character just popped up - an Inquisitor - I mean (and I already have a background taking shape in my head, just not enough time to write it down at this precise moment), a follower of Ragathiel, that bashes heads with the inactive posture of his order, and decides to up and leave to the current place in the world where one can make a difference, where all the possible help they get is needed, and where there is opportunity to (as it is said regarding the Inquisitor class) "root out enemies of the faith, using trickery and guile when righteousness and purity is not enough, above many of the normal rules and conventions of the church, answering to their deity and their own sense of justice alone, and willing to take extreme measures to meet their goals" seems to be the absolute perfect fit.

More, "Inquisitors tend to move from place to place, chasing down enemies and researching emerging threats. As a result, they often travel with others, if for no other reason than to mask their presence. Inquisitors work with members of their faith whenever possible, but even such allies are not above suspicion" - How is it that I didn't see this before I made my other applications? :D

In any case, I have crunched him(below) as melee, as I envision the character as a close up and personal "in their face, righteous retribution dispenser" - we all know Inquisitors can be optimal ranged characters, and I would obviousle be available to rethink him as so, if it would be more useful for the group. The ability to switch from 2h to 1h + shield should allow him to fluctuate between all out damage and tanking as needed, if melee.

You will also notice that he is NOT optimized in terms of pure combat - I have come to the conclusion I have a very hard time playing a character that only has something to offer in combat - don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of combat, and try to be as best as possible when playing a martial character, but I need my character to also be contributing to the group activities outside of combat, hence his skills are spread in areas that may fill gaps in the group.

Survival and Knowledge (Dungeoneering), as others that really make sense for the character itself - Religion and Planes (he needs to know what he is fighting against), Diplomacy [I want him to be able to relate to others, and also expect him one day to be leading others into the fray - whether Leadership is accepted or not :D] and Intimidate (has mechanical advantages, but is also an integral part of a gritty evil hunter) and Sense Motive (no lying to the Inquisitor! No way!); Knowledge (Local) translates in my head the fact that he has travelled to Kenabres some time ago, and after being around for a while, has gotten a good grasp on how to move around, and who to get in touch with.

Nothing of this is fully writen in stone, as I guess the group will be given a chance to adapt here and there, so they can complement each other.

Anyways, apologies for the wall of text, and here he is - hoping I have a shot at this one:

Izorshi trembled uncertainly. Since she arrived in Kenabres, no one had acknowledged her. At least, it seemed that way.
Maybe they can tell just by seeing me, she thought, maybe they all know I will never be good enough to fight in the Worldwound. They must all hate me. The dhampir paused for a moment. She always did this to herself, always trying to make herself miserable. And yet...Kenabres was the one place she was suppose to improve, to seek her destiny...

So, what do you think? Yes, Izorshi does have a pretty bad inferiority complex. It will get better as the game progresses, of course.

Unruly GM,

This is Tazo, aka Maximillian Akorius. I haven't had much luck getting Max into any games, so please consider this my withdrawal of Max and submision of a new character.

I wanted to try out a character concept with a very direct tie into the adventure path. Thus Ogden was born, a tiefling who subverts what it means to be a "Child of the Crusade." Being a tiefling from a zealous and holy family, Ogden is rejected by most of his kin, who populate the crusade and often stand in his way. However, there are hopefully a few family members who might come to respect him, or even like him. (In other words, if the Adventure Path assumes that the character has some friendly family members, I'm hoping this concept will still work.)

Rejected by the traditional holy orders, Ogden finds himself as an Inquisitor of Gorum - with all of the zeal of a Paladin and none of the Lawful Goodness. (This link indicates that Gorum indeed has followers in the crusade, which made him a natural choice.) He is currently a Chaotic Neutral character, in keeping with his Abyssal heritage. But eventually, his acts of valor will hopefully make him a Chaotic Good character, as he becomes less cynical and more respectful of the nobler aspects of the Crusade. Indeed, he intends to become a Marshal, gaining some notoriety as an unlikely leader.

I fully finished my character, let me know if you have any questions.

Basically, Rex is a person who wants to find glory, even a bit willing to do fool hardy things to accomplish that goal. All his life he has been overlooked, and now he wants his shot.

Roondar is sitting on the edge of her seat.

Boy, this suspense is killing me. Wait, should I be talking about killing, so close to... Wait, should I mention its name, lest it haunt me?

Well, I'm not going to say anything about selections until tomorrow. But I will say that I've run into a small issue with mapping. Apparently you can't copy the map images from the interactive maps included with the PDF. Unless there's some way that people have figured out that I haven't. But from what I've found with a short search here, the interactive maps sort of preclude that kind of thing because Adobe sucks for various reasons.

Ran into the same issue when I started DMing it. Best I could do is print screen it into another program like paint and resize it (as a note I use Roll20). Not clean or very efficient but it did work.

Try maptools? I think you can use a spreadsheet for mapping as well in a pinch

I think I may have found a somewhat similar method while messing around at work tonight. If you open it in Google Drive, and I mean really open it using right click+open rather than the "preview" that you get by left-clicking, it treats every page as a flat image. Then you can right click on a page and either save the image or copy it. I tested it with MS Paint, and it lets me paste it in so it should work with GIMP or photoshop, and allow me to crop/resize from there. Hopefully.

If I can ask, what scale seems to work best?

GM, I just noticed I'm still on the list. I'd actually like to withdraw my application, as Jens was accepted into another Wrath of the Righteous game. I don't think it would be fair to other applicants if he got into both. ;-) Good luck with the campaign, and have fun selecting a party - I don't envy you; there are some great characters here!

All right, I edited Roondar slightly to make sure she fits better into the campaign :)

Background:

Roondar has always been the runt of the litter, even though he can't even recall having a family to count on.
Throughout the years she struggled to make ends meet, and there were times that even the colour of her eyes and hair started to lose its shine, because times were hard. When she got into contact with pesh, things went downhill fast. She had nothing, owed everyone and after several years addicted to the pesh, it almost didn't seem worth the effort of attempting to draw the filthy air into her tiny lungs.

That's when Roondar was found by a friend from his earlier days, Haleen, whom she once considered her sister. She took care of her and even protected her sometimes, but over the years the contact was watered down and lost. Seeing Haileen, looking down at her in the gutter, was an eye-opener.
To say that she got angry at her would be an understatement. Although her temper often kept her from making friends or keeping a job, she had always been kind to him. It seemed this changed.

Haleen was instrumental in kicking the pesh addiction and making sure she got a job in society. Their friendship rekindled, until recently. Haleen’d been growing strangely morose and depressed. They normally kept no secrets, but whatever was bothering her wasn’t something she wanted to share.
One night, she vanished, leaving only a brief note, begging Rondaar to forget her and to get on with his life, but something about the note felt wrong — something in the way she phrased her words.

This triggered a feeling Roondar hadn't felt in a long long time: sisterly love. It’s time to step in and protect her! After all she did for her!

Several months have passed since she disappeared and finally a strange dream, no doubt a gift from Desna, was had that could lead to her.
Placing Haleen in the vicinity of the world wound, it was all Roondar needed to pack his belongings and venture to the city of Kenabre!

Personality:
Roondar can be found talking to herself quite often, most of the times with a very angry, almost masculine, voice. She tries to avoid the subject as much as she can, and will joke about it if someones asks her directly. She likes animals a lot.

Roondar is obviously from the southern parts of Golarion, given her tainted skin and slightly coloured hair. She is still growing accustomed to her winter clothing.

Even though you know (ooc) she is a summoner, you haven't seen his eidolon.

Is good, yes?

Sorry, can't say on the scale. Reason being I prep the maps without the grid (Roll20 provides it's own grid). So I eyeball the map with grids in the book then resize the one in Roll20 till it is close.

So I basically look and would say 'the room is five squares wide and about 6 in height'. Then I resize until it is close to that on the Roll20 grid. It's usually not exact unfortunately, but usually close enough the players would never know the difference.

Checking in. Looking forward to the selections and crossing my fingers.

I just do a screen capture of a section ... I be sure to grab the selection on an even square line ... so the map is full squares in all directions.

Then, roll20 is set to 70 pixels per square.

I resize the image to be equal to 70 x the number of squares wide (and have it auto adjust height)

If my map is 10x 20 wide then I resize to 1400 pixels wide (70 pixels x 20 squares)

The main thing is to take the crop on an even square line (or know the exact extra you are getting with the edge of a map.

That's pretty close to what I ended up doing using the images I grabbed off of my Google Drive copies. So now I've got images of each map, and I just have to find a way to cover the GM notation stuff. I'll probably just blob it out with a brush or something and hope that my players don't try to metagame too much about that conspicuous black spot on the map.

I have made my decisions! Firstly, I want to say thank you to everyone that applied. I was surprised at the turnout, because I'd been led to believe that, like new PbP players, new PbP GMs tend to be avoided. So thanks for all the interest. As for the selections themselves, I tried to pick people based on what they could bring to the party. I tried to stay away from looking at people's post counts or previous PbP experience because I'm new and everyone deserves an equal chance. So please, don't be offended if you weren't picked. In any case, because of the turnout and because of my own indecisiveness, I have made the campaign a 6-player party.

Now, on to the selections!

  • Kosz Trumpeter, Aasimar Paladin!
  • Deia, Human Witch!
  • Rex Kayne, Human Gunslinger!
  • Maximillian Arkorius, Human Wizard!
  • Kel the Guardsman, Tiefling Fighter!
  • Tiny Tina, Human Alchemist!

Each of you has been sent a PM, and I await hearing back from you.

To those who weren't picked, if anyone who was picked decides to back out, I will be making new selections from the remainder here. In that event, I will be making new posts here in the recruitment thread about it and sending a PM, so please keep an eye out.

Using the screen capture you can take it from the interactive PDF after turning off the notations.

On a mac you can screen capture a portion of the screen with command-shift-4

On a PC you can capture a portion of the screen with one of the following programs.

SnagIt and another one, Gadwin PrintScreen

So, open interactive map, turn on player view, selective capture.

Congrats to all those picked. WoR looks like an awesome AP, have fun with it!

Nice to be playing with all of you!

Many Thanks GM!

Well met Tiny Tina.

Just in case any of the accepted player's haven't realized it, the discussion thread is open.

Good luck to all!
