Tangibledelusions here, going with a Human rogue swashbuckler/scout who may eventually go for assassin. (My friend is going to apply for the tiefling sorcerer) Taking the 25 point buy because of horrid rolls.

Going with murder for crime. All other questions should be answered in profile.

rolls:

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

I would like to play Tiefling infernal sorcerer who will take the Fiendish Heritage feat to choose the Kyton Bloodline (+2 Con, +2 Cha, -2 Wis) and roll three times on the chart to pick an ability to replace darkness 1/day. He would be going for diabloist prestige class (Book of the damned 1) later when/if it is allowed.

Replacement for Darkness 1/day

1d100 ⇒ 17 You possess claws that are treated as natural weapons and deal 1d4 damage.
1d100 ⇒ 80 You gain a +2 bonus on your CMD.
1d100 ⇒ 87 You can survive on one-quarter the amount of food and water a human requires.

Crime will be witchcraft

Background

Spoiler:

Jacin grew up in the shining city of Talingarde a tiefling. All his life he faced suspicion and doubt because of his race. He was teased, accused, and blamed for just about any wrongdoing that happened. Despite his family attempts at helping the community and being upright citizens they could only achieve an acceptance or tolerance.

What Talingarde did not know is that all their suspicions and intolerance was justified. All their good work in the community was only for cover.

Jacin grew up with parents who not only worshipped Asmodeus, they were also powerful summoners of devils. Jacin grew up also worshipping Asmodeus and committed himself for life. His infernal Kyton blood was strong in him, manifesting itself while he was young. His parents, also sorcerers of great power helped him learn how to wield these powers.

The day finally came when he could summon his first devil. He had studied for month preparing for the day. He had even purchased a dove to rip its heart out when he summoned the imp. The summoning cerimony began as his parents began chanting. In the middle of ceremony Sir Balin of Karfield and his agents broke into their home, slayed his parents and injured Jacin. His punishment was going to Branderscar Prison before being burned to death.

If he ever got the chance he would bring down not only Sir Blain but also all of Talingarde. Then he and his kind could worship in peace.

appearance

Spoiler:

Jacin is large with black curled horns coming from his head with almost a metallic shine to them. His long dark hair almost covers his blood red eyes. His skin almost appears to be scaled.

Liberty's Edge

1) Tell me who you are. Race/class at a minimum, but more is always better. How you came about the path of evil helps.
Beatrix, Human Fighter. Beatrix was raised in the grasslands, a hearty daughter of farmers. Her brothers handled most of the work, and as she would be passed for any sizable inheritance, she left home to earn a living. At first it was simple guard jobs or escorting caravans, but she quickly found a place in the city guard before finally becoming a soldier.

Her platoon was sent to deal with a revolt in a small village, and upon arriving was ordered to burn the buildings and kill all inhabitants. Following orders, Bea and her companions slaughtered women and children as well as men who put up no resistance.

The guilt tore her apart. Rivers of blood tormented her dreams nightly, and she would be found furiously washing invisible blood from her hands. Unable to continue, she slipped out of camp one night and fled her company.

Suddenly this farm girl-turned-soldier found herself a fugitive from the law. She couldn't go home - they'd certainly find her there and put her to death for desertion. Without money, and without anywhere to go, she wandered the streets. She couldn't fall in among the beggars for fear of being recognized, but had to do something. After days of fruitlessly rummaging through refuse looking for food, the deep pangs of hunger gnawing at her stomach drove her to the warm smells of a bakery where fresh loaves were set out to cool. There they were, sitting within arms reach if she just reached out to grab one.

Before she knew what happened she was running down an alley with a hot loaf in her hands. After a few turns she was sure nobody was following her and sat down to feast. It was so easy! Why didn't I try this before? She reveled in her new found security, sure all her troubles were over. Unfortunately, it didn't last long - the bread and fruit migrated further from easy reach and it became riskier and riskier to steal.

Occasionally she'd spot an easy mark walking away with a baguette and just take it from them instead of risking the shopkeepers. At first she rationalized it, thinking she's not really hurting anyone and they could probably afford it anyways. After awhile it became almost a game. She'd laugh at the idiots who obviously didn't know anything about staying safe on the streets and carelessly flaunted their money and wares - then she'd take both. After all, someone needed to teach them a lesson about the dangers of life or they'd go on being taken advantage of. Really, she was doing them a favor. Sometimes they got hurt during the struggle, and there was more than one victim that never got up again after a strong blow, but she didn't care anymore. What was important was food. Survival. The memories of her slaughter as a soldier were buried one by one by fresh horrors every day until they were long forgotten, and uncared for.

2) What crime did you commit, and how did you get caught?
Desertion was the major offense.

She had a run of bad luck. Most of the food vendors had moved their goods behind glass panes and day after day she couldn't find anyone to take it from. Hunger once again became her master, more than she had ever felt before. She stood for a long while staring at a loaf of bread, just as close as the first she ever took, with only a thin sheet of glass standing between them. Mesmerized by it and numbed by her hunger, she was oblivious to those around her and didn't consider the suspicion she was arousing.

The sound of shattering glass was quickly followed by a blow to the head, and she blacked out as her body slumped to the ground. By the time she came to, she was bound and laying on the cold hard floor of a prison cell, a piercing headache the only reminder of how she got there. Sitting up, she scoots her back to a wall and stares at the sliver of light, waiting.

3) What do you look like?
A fair skinned woman of medium build in her mid twenties, Beatrix has a somber face with dark hair and darker eyes.

4) Why do you want revenge against Talingarde?
She holds Tilingarde responsible for everything that's gone wrong in her life - she's sure that it was corruption in the military leaders and by extension the government that was behind the event that caused her desertion.

5) Anything else you feel like saying.
This is an alternate take on a character I'm already playing in a Kingmaker campaign (Paladin of Erastil). She was on the precipice of darkness when she found her faith - what if that had never happened? Without Erastil to heal her heart, how might she have turned out?

I will try Human cleric, the rolls:

str 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
dex 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
con-8
int 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
wis-18+2
cha 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

A few more questions.

Krallek:
First thing to say is, nice to see ya, Krallek. We were in a Kingmaker game that ended (I was Deanarth in there).
First question I have is a big one. In the linked profile you have Chaotic Good. Is that correct? Asking as the AP is strongly not good.
Secondly, part of the AP requires that you be guilty of your crime. From what you have written it seems more an accident you were blamed for. Not exactly evil material there.
Third, I'm not really reviewing too much of the mechanics yet (mostly focused on the RP side for now, and will work out mechanics later), but I couldn't help but notice you have 30 points spents. 11 (1), 14+2 (5), 14-2 (5), 18+2 (17), 13 (3), 9 (-1). Just an FYI on that.
Just a few concerns I had.

DreamAtelier:
That clears up a few things then that may interact with the story as presented (not to spoil anything).
Also Fiendish Heritage allows you to pick the Heritage Fiendish Heritage in case you don't like your roll, though the one you got isn't bad for a monk.

Genisen Larkova:
I'm going to be blunt. Based solely on your description, I get a strong vibe towards a chaotic approach, particularly the last part:
Quote:
"Its time for Talingarde to fall and usher in a new age where anything is allowed."

How would your character react to a world where Asmodous's doctrine is the law of the land instead of Talingarde's, and furthering such a viewpoint? Just looking for some insight.

Also you said your friend is also applying. Would rather just ask now, is it only a 2 for 1 deal (I accept both or neither), or would you be willing to be accepted without him? I plan to review characters individually, and having that kind of knowledge beforehand is just nice to know in case I don't like one of the submissions. Also please don't feel as though I'm holding it against you, if that is the case, that kind of loyalty is commendable.

Count Buggula:
From your submission it shows you start off caring about others, but it seems to degenerate as you became desparate and events turned for the worse. My question is how much concern you still have for others (particularly women and children). Would you be willing to sacrifice an entire town (or more) for your desires?

Haruk:
Mostly a question of curiousity, trying to get a feel for Haruk's way of thinking. In regards to the three siblings, why did he choose to kill them over using them as allies in service to Asmodeus?

Kaz56:
My first question is whether there's a specific person you're speaking of when you say head guard of Talingarde (which is the nation you are in), or are you thinking of some place else?
Second, I assume this person is still alive as it's Attempted murder, and this is how you were caught. Correct?

Shadow Lodge

Due to time constraints unfortunately I will have to bow out of this one. Wish you guys all good luck and have fun.

For King Markadian V:

I guess I can see your viewpoint on the chaotic side, but let me explain and I decided to do a re-write if that is ok. See background please.

Me and Halvor
As far as the two of us, we are not a package deal. It would be awesome to both get in, but neither of us expect that. We talked about the tiefling character before and when he wanted to use it I backed off and went with Genisen.

Thank you for your consideration.

King:
Ya know, I don't rightly know. Part of it might have been that I wasn't sure a DM would want a trio of PC classed allies "waiting" for him on the outside. Granted, I wouldn't automatically be able to contact them, but I guess I part of me killed them so a DM wouldn't be scared off.

To be honest, as I read over his backstory again, I asked myself the same thing. Pretty much the only reason I could really think of was he was sending more souls to Hell. Other than that, it really makes no sense. I think I'll change it to keep em alive, if your ok with that.

Liberty's Edge

king:

Oh yeah. She's become a completely different person. The main idea of her backstory is how someone can go from good to bad with a long string of seemingly small individual events. Of course, it started out with a big event that lead to her having PTSD, but that didn't turn her EVIL. It was the small things, rationalizing them until they didn't seem so bad anymore, which led to worse things. It snowballed until she got to the point where she was killing people for food and didn't care anymore.

The other part is that her way of dealing with PTSD has been to effectively numb her emotions. I imagine there might be some fun flashback episodes after the fact (interesting roleplaying opportunity there!), but on a conscious level she just doesn't care, and would easily kill women or children if needed.

I think I got everything right. I'm assuming that no mention of traits means no traits. Is that right?

Feel free to take a look and point out anything I messed up.

Hey Gwyn,

Towards the end of the Finishing Details section of the Character Creation spoiler it says:

If you are using the trait system in the Advanced Player’s Guide, choosing this crime counts as one of your traits.

Despite the 'If', I think that means we do get two traits, one of which is a Crime. King Mark, if I've got that wrong, let me know.

The Exchange

Who Am I?:

I am sadness walking.
I am failure on foot.
I am impotent revenge festering.
I am Feegle.

Human male Tracksmage (Druid-no companion, domain)

Crime and Caughtishment:

"Those bastards," Feegle yells between the bars of his cell, his voice cracking under the weight of his tears.

"Those frakking bastards!!!" Feegle yells to emphasize his point to whomever might be listening.

Screw them all. Screw them with the wrong side of Calistria's whip...and their wrong sides as well. They deserve nothing less.

Feegle turns and slumps down in his cell, his left hand wiping the tears from his eyes, a small sniffle failing to recapture the snot running into his mouth.

"I deserved better. I should have better!" Feegle yells into the back of his cell, certain that no one cares what he says or what he thinks.

Feegle debates getting up to yell again, but doesn't feel like wasting the energy. His sadness has drained his will.

In truth, it *was* Feegle's fault that he was here. After all, *he* got caught and no one else did. Feegle was at fault...but it wasn't like he was going to admit that. In theory, he wasn't supposed to get caught...except that he did. The King...Damn his soul!...deserved it.

Feegle was supposed to hoist the effigy of the King (clad in diapers and buggering a goat dressed as his High General) around the tree while the others were supposed to light it afire.

Of course, that didn't happen. Everything went wrong. Everything.

Sure, it had been Feegle who built and stuffed the effigy. And it had been Feegle's idea. But he shouldn't be in here.

With righteous anger, Feegle rises and yells again impotently against the bars of his cell, "Screw you kingy! Screw all of you! You deserve it! You deserve to be in here, not me!"

About Feegle's looks:

Dirty. And like a man who's been crying far too much to be called a 'man'.

An unkempt Varisian male, dark hair, green eyes, about 5'10", 180lbs.

Feegle has some muscle to him, but his frame looks like it's never been fully fleshed out. He could, with a bit of effort, become more, but hitherto has not cared enough about himself to make it happen.

Why Revenge?:

Feegle likes revenging.

And the King has trounced on Feegle far too often to avoid being a target of Feegle's wrath.

You see, the King stole something of great value to Feegle: the only woman he ever loved, Marigold Pottersmoot, the woman that Feegle was sure he was destined to marry.

Of course, Marigold claimed she was just working as a chambermaid within the Palace, but Feegle knew the *real* truth: the tramp was sleeping with the King. Definitely. Assuredly.

For how could the King deny the beauty of his Marigold? She was the prettiest girl ever to tend bar at the Wretched Weasel Inn (where Feegle first met her). Marigold was always nice to Feegle...always said 'hi' and sometimes gave him an extra smile when he ordered his grog.

Feegle was sure she liked him...and then she left. She left to go work in the Palace...leaving Feegle all along.

And that is why the King must pay. The jerk!

Other things to say?:

This is where I come to cry.

Also, I'm an experienced PbPer who will post often. I'd be honored to be in an 'evil' campaign.

I can do a full build/alias pretty quickly.

My PbP samples include:

Wren the Feathermage 500+ posts in a 3000+ PbP campaign
Dyrant Maynor 1000+ posts in a 6000+ campaign
Appario Lind 900+ posts in a 5000+ campaign

King Markadian:

Hi Deanarth/King Markadian. Yes its too bad that Kingmaker pbp didn't fly. I was really enjoying that. Have you heard from GM Trav at all?

As for the alchemist. Sorry, I see that I counted the racial penalty prior to spending the point buy. It has been corrected.

So this is specifically an evil campaign? Hrm, I kind of prefer the misunderstood good guy. You know, the guy that appears to be evil on the surface but when you scrape away the rusty exterior he is basically a good guy; misunderstood, but good nonetheless.

I withdraw my application. Enjoy the campaign.

Cheers

Sovereign Court

Question 1 - Who are you?:

Jethryk Devarre, LE Human (mostly) Oracle of Flame (Black-Blooded) 1

Str - 18 + 2 (Racial) = 20
Dex - 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Con - 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Int - 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Wis - 8
Cha - 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

There is a curse upon those of the Devarre bloodline: The Curse of the Black Blood. Sometimes it skips a generation, but its stain has marred those who belong to Jethryk's family for centuries. When it manifests, it victims are universally shunned, or worse, burned as witches, as they have obviously been tainted by Dark Powers.

In Jethryk's case, the taint manifested at puberty: He was wracked with fevers and chills for months, until one day, he started weeping tears of blood - black blood.

His parents, fearful of what might happen to their son, and, more importantly, the rest of their family, if Jethryk's condition became common knowledge, his parents quickly bundled him off to the capital, where he was nominally apprenticed to a local barrister that the family had had dealings with in the past.

Jethryk chafed at the virtual exile and imprisonment that had been forced upon him, but he studied the law, nursing a cold hatred for those who had abandoned him. One day, however, he found an avenue for escape: In an obscure legal codex, he discovered allusions to a contract that, when signed, granted the signatory unimaginable power... in exchange for a few small boons.

Blinded by thoughts of revenge, Jethryk failed to consider the implications of what he was seeking, and eagerly spent every waking moment he could call his own feverishly attempting to track down the hinted contract. His quest was largely fruitless for months, until, serendipitously, he found an ancient scroll, tucked into the space behind a shelf of tort law. When he read the words, he could barely contain his excitement, and eagerly whipped out a quill, using his own blood as ink. Upon signing his name, the scroll erupted into flame, and he was immediately beset with excruciating agony, as a glyph was seared into the flesh of his chest - an upside-down pentagram. Once the pain abated, he could feel warmth suffusing his body, his ice-cold heart melting as power thrummed through every fibre of his being. Torching his master's library, he left the capital, heading 'home'... It was high-time he paid his 'respects' to his parents...

Question 2 - What is your crime (Murder)?:

After his initial 'breakthrough' in the capital, Jethryk maintained a low profile, skulking his way across the countryside, until he arrived at his home village. Once there, he bided his time, until he had opportunity to plant evidence implying that his parents consorted with dark powers. He watched with satisfaction as a mob formed, his betrayers were tied to poles, and torched. Then, however, his ego got the better of him: He made the mistake of gloating over what he had accomplished, realsing a little too late that that merely made him a target... He fled into the darkness, but was eventually tracked down by a posse of local constables, who, rather then handing him over to the mob, had him sent to Branderscar Prison, there to face the full weight of the law...

Question 3 - What do you look like?:

Jethryk is a tall, wiry human with coal-black hair, pale skin, and icy blue eyes. He rarely smiles, but is prone to fierce, fiery passions. A large burn-scar in the shape of an upside-down pentagram is emblazoned across his chest, but he prefers to hide this behind his rags as best he can.

Question 4 - Why do you want revenge?:

Talingarde has betrayed Jethryk - firstly in his youth, by necessitating his removal from his home to 'hide' his true nature, and secondly by sentencing him to death for seeking what he saw as 'justice'. As such, 'Talingarde' (which he sees as being synonymous with the royal family) deserves to perish.

He has no quarrel with the rank and file peasantry of the nation, though; provided they do not get in his way, he will leave them alone. He is not an anarchist, after all... He merely seeks redress for perceived wrongs; if doing so happens to place him in a position of power, so much the better.

Additional information:

I will put together a profile, and a full build shortly :-)

If it helps, I have a long pedigree of PbP involvement here on the Paizo boards.

In terms of character development, something to consider: Although Jethryk does not realise it (I will deliberately not take Knowledge(Religion).), the contract that he signed deeded-over his soul to Asmodeus, with the option for the Archfiend to call on him for service during life, as well. (To circumvent the need of a holy symbol, I will take the 'birthmark' trait to make the scar on his chest count as a holy symbol.)

Let me know if there is anything else that you would like to know :-)

Shadow Lodge

OK, I think this covers a submission...

Who Am I?:

Saeldur Vehiron, male elf witch (vengeance patron)

* Saeldur is 130 years old and the last male heir of the Vehiron Lords, elves that lived in Talingarde long before Man was born.

* Twenty years ago, the human Lord Redwyne secretly hatched a plot whereby the Vehiron holdings were attacked and burned by Giant-kin. During the attacks, Saeldur's parents were brutally murdered. Redwyne feigned driving off the marauder, claimed some obscure human law and managed to claim their lands as his own.

* For the past twenty years, Saeldur has scraped by on the last remnants of his family's wealth while plotting his revenge. At last, the catalyst he sought was found when he obtained a book of dark magicks, The Binding Of Three, and began to devour it's dark secrets like a hungry pauper.

My Crime:

Consorting with Dark Powers

* At last, Saeldur successfuly made contact with his patron, whom his dark book identified as The Judge.

* The Judge requested that Saeldur find another like-minded soul, and that he would be granted a familiar through which he would receive gifts with which he could implement his retribution on Redwyne and Talingarde.

* Saeldur approached his sister, Lindethiel, who has busied herself with the artistic pursuits of Shelyn, to be his accomplice.

* Horrified at what she discovered, she sought out the renown Sir Balin for advice on how to deal with her brother's misdeeds. Sir Balin is not known for his tolerance, and now Saeldur sits in Branderscar awaiting his judgement.

My Appearance:

Saeldur rarely eats or sleeps, as elves tend to be able to survive with little of either. As such, he is extraordinarily gaunt even for an elf, a trait extentuated by his lengthy limbs. His hair is colorless, long and straight while his eyes are a deep amber.

My Revenge:

* Saeldur's plans for retribution may be limitless, depending on how deep the rabbit-hole goes. While he most personally identifies Redwyne as the most immediate cause of "injustice", he knows Talingarde has degenerated into a land where societal whims can usurp centuries of order. To truly atone for what has transpired, Saeldur surely must guarantee it cannot happen again.

* As such, Saeldur will not rest until he is certain that Talingarde is ruled by a more orderly, traditionally-minded body.

* It's likely his patron, The Judge (or whatever The Judge really is...) has plans as well, and his encouragement will give Saeldur just the right nudge to continue their "shared goals".

My Last Days - A Letter:

A letter to Saeldur's sister, penned within Braderscar a week prior to his scheduled execution, with instructions to deliver to her fifty years after his death when she has hopefully grown bored with the ways of Shelyn.

~

My Dearest Lindethiel,

I am penning you this correspondence as I have no other to whom I may bestow the responsibility that must be borne to ameliorate the injustice perpetrated upon our blood.

For countless centuries, our fertile lands remained safe within the care of our forebears. You know as well as I that Redwyne's seizure of our family's holdings would not have been possible without the assistance of that insufferable lackwit whom sits upon the throne, seeking only to further the distinct interest of Man.

You have been an utter disappointment to me. You have wasted a century of your formative adolescene pursuing the vanities of your goddess, when you could have instead helped your own brother achieve what is rightfully ours. Then, because you never developed a spine or will of your own, you shared the plan I trusted solely with you to this wretched Balin - another human who's only claim to fame, like Redwyne, has been bringing an end to the hard-earned power of others.

I can only pray your dilletance diminishes now in adulthood, and over the course of the century since my execution, you have finally matured enough to remember what was once ours. Redwyne should also be long dead. His children, fat and rich from the fruit of our lands, should lack the cunning of their father.

You may have finally turned to the Savored Sting in search of retribution. I too, began my journey there, but the path appeared longer than I had the patience to travel. There is a tome that I managed to stow away my dearest sister, a tome whose prose casts a dark shadow over the poems you so loved as a child. Within is the knowledge to regain what was ours.

Do not make the same mistake as I did, and try to convert those who beliefs are not already aligned with yours. During my brief stay in Branderscar, I have learned that there are many who are displeased with Talingarde. Oh, that I could find an escape with this like-minded flock - we could restore the land to a more structured state of affairs - one where these manling-lords can't simply undo a milennia of tradition with the wave of the hand just because one claims evidence of an extra-marital affair.

Trust me sister, when I say I will find a way. If I do not escape on my own and burn this letter, then it will find you and impart upon you the burden of restoring what was Vehiron. If you fail, I will have no choice but to return in other ways.

For Eternity,

Saeldur

What Else?:

I can stat up the crunch for Saeldur very quickly if selected.

He will be a full Witch.

At 1st level, I'm fairly certain he will pick up the Extra Hex feat and begin play with both Evil Eye and Cure Light Wounds.

I see Saeldur as a wealthy dabbler of a sort. Having a high Intelligence, he will have a lot of skills. Knowledge should be covered. I can also see picking up a trait for a Dex skill (Disable? Stealth?) to put all the skill ranks to use.

He is interested in elven traditions, so he will carry a longbow and longsword (although I doubt his Strength will be over 12).

I see Saeldur beginning as Neutral Evil, as he really can get frazzled and make mistakes at times (like trusting his sister), but over I see him gradually tending to Lawful Evil as the campaign progresses.

He is certainly looking for like minded individuals with which to share goals.

GM discretion if The Judge really is Asmodeus.

In the balance of party RP, I can see him trying to keep an identified "purpose" for the actions of the group. I can also see him playing the straight-man to revenge-seekers with a comedic twist (like Painlord's Feegle submission), as Saeldur can be easily "frazzled" or bent out of shape.

I tend to check posts several times a day, and am an active player and GM on the Paizo forums.

I have never played in an evil campaign.

Thanks for reading!

I'm interested in this character that I wrote up for another WotW game that I didn't get recruited for. What do you think of the changeling race? It's not absolutely essential to my concept, but I like the flavor.

Mercy Marcellus, Changeling Synthesist Summoner:

What does she look like?
Willowy, waifish, and pale. During her teenage years she was more charming than seductive but as she grew into her figure she definitely came to turn heads. Black hair framing a heart-shaped face, full lips, button nose, and striking eyes (one of which is green, the other brown).

Personality
She is self-absorbed, greedy, and manipulative. When she sees something or someone that she wants, she takes it. She is a bit of a hedonist and very appreciative of beauty in all of its forms. NE alignment, although that could change to LE if she found a code or cause to be passionate about aside from self-gratification

What are her crimes?
Desecration of the monastery where she was raised, blasphemy and consorting with dark powers.

Mercy was left at the doorstep of a monastery as an infant. Named for St. Marcellus the merciful, she grew up secluded from the world. Hymns and prayer and a hard day's work made one week blend into the next and one year much like another. One could only get into a certain amount of trouble in a monastery but that didn't stop Mercy from trying, she had what her adoptive father called a restless spirit. Since she couldn't always talk her way out of whatever punishment her mischief merited, she became very good at menial tasks, and very familiar with the dark recesses of the monastery that always seemed to need dusting or scrubbing. The voice she began to hear in her adolescence worried her and the monks, who were like family to her. They prayed over her and wove protective wards and kept her so busy that she had no time for anything but work and sleep. She distracted herself for years with endless hours at a scribe's desk copying old tomes and scrolls until eventually the sweet, seductive voice faded. The next voice she heard was rougher, darker, yet somehow more intimate. It drew her to a forgotten alcove deep in the catacombs where she found The Book. As she read, the voice grew clearer and closer. It spoke of all the things she wanted- promised her all she ever dreamed of having, seeing or doing and led her through the invocation hidden in the heart of the tome.

The ritual complete, she found herself in communion with a being from the darkest depths of hell. It whispered to her of pleasures of the flesh and and how she could have the headmaster at her beck and call. She embraced it, manifested the dark spirit, and within the month had lured several of the monks to abandon their vows and join her in debauchery. Of course, it did not go unnoticed. The monk who had raised her like a father... it broke his heart to send the letter to the inquisitors. The came, they cornered her, but they did not expect her to skitter along the ceiling to make her escape. She made her way into the world, exploring and establishing small cults to glorify the seductive vices of devils until finally the inquisitors caught up with her. There was nowhere to skitter to this time. She was caught, branded, and sent to die in a place far from any beauty or grace.

I generally prefer point buy, but let's see how this comes out.

Attribute rolls:
Focus: Charisma
Foible: Wisdom
Strength: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Dexterity: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Constitution: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Intelligence: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Huh. Not much to argue with there. 55 point buy equivalent seems a little silly though...

To Answer your questions
1.I don't really know what happened in Talingarde but by reading the some of the other PbP recruitment's it seems that the nation had a "purge" so to speak. Yes the specific person I'm speaking of would be whomever is in charge of the army at the moment cause in my back story I tried to say the "better armored one" was the one leading the charge in that area (my village) he however was not that high of a ranking officer at the time but still up in the ranks for leading this charge. During my time away (9 years) he worked his way up to be in the position he is in now.
2.Yes he is still alive and thew me in prison to get beheaded as the crime listed (now out of Character he would never have made the attempt until he was a much higher lvl but because we start at first and assuming we don't really die in the 3 days time it gives him that goal to work towards for the AP and if I am correct help bring Talingrade to its knees also as a side note that his first major goal would be to get that dagger back so he can still kill him with "THAT" dagger) hopefully that answered your questions if you have any more feel free to ask.

Wow, nice rolls. Unfortunately as a synthesist you'll end up losing points in your physical stats until your eidolon catches up with those.

Dark Archive

Hi I'm interested in Submitting a character but I want to check if it would be rejected straight out. Idea was going to be a Catfolk monk.

Yeah, synthesists have a lot of tradeoffs. I liked the idea of playing someone possessed by a devil and synthesist seemed the best way to model it in the game, but missing out on the extra actions and skill points from a separate summoned eidolon limits my options somewhat. Usually the swap of physical attributes is a benefit, but I'd love to see the expression on the inquisitor's face when he banishes the devil possessing the waif, only to have her leap at him and claw his eyes out...

Answering Kevin Mack's question fast, and not in a spoiler so others can see. As a general rule, I do not rule out any concept off-hand. If someone takes an odd race/class or combination and can spin a tale that not only makes it seem reasonable, but enjoyable, I'm fine with that. If I won't accept something, I'll generally give my reasoning behind it, and usually it's because I believe it will cause too many issues for it to be enjoyable.

The types of things I do reject off hand are general asshatery (I wanna play a paladin so I can smite the rest of the group and make 'em do what I want them to) or just plain dur (I wanna play a pit fiend fighter, with full pit fiend abilities as a first level character).

EDIT: Same applies to Ioimprevisto. Both Changeling and Catfolk are acceptable races for submissions.

I think I got everything right. I'm assuming that no mention of traits means no traits. Is that right?

Feel free to take a look and point out anything I messed up.

That is a good question. In truth I didn't include anything because, as much as the people I work with like to remind me on occasion, I am indeed human.

Traits: Everyone gets two traits. One trait must be selected from the list of crimes presented. The other can be from any source.

I think many of us assumed that was the case while chargenning but its nice to have it in writing.

Also just so everyone knows, I'll be at work for about 8-9 hours from this post, but I can probably answer a couple questions every now and then during that time. When I get home I'll review more entries.

The list I'm using to keep track of characters is on the campaign tab. I haven't added people since last night, so it won't be full updated to later this evening. If you don't see your name up there by tomorrow, go ahead and mention it.

As of present, I currently plan to close out submissions on 3/19/2012 at 11pm CDT (UTC -5). If a submission should come after the deadline, it may still get reviewed, but I place no guarantees on it. I should have the group selected by 3/23/2012 at 11pm CDT (if I select it earlier, I'll post it earlier, that's just to give me a deadline). In between that time I may ask a couple more questions, just a headsup.

DISCLAIMER: This is all subject to change (I won't select earlier than that, but may delay depending on situation, needs, or even mood).

Thanks for the update. The campaign info tab is helpful, too. :)

Noted on the closing time for subs, I'm still very interested - but want to make sure I've got my ducks in a row before I throw up the details.

If the stars align it should be coming at you tomorrow night.

I agree with Cain

Here is my submission, Morthos

Didn't put any of the mechanics in there. If it's necessary, just let me know and I can easily get that taken care of.

Thanks!

Did you have any questions about my submission?

Mr. Swagger:
I did a quick read through, and the only thing that stuck out at present is Celestial as your tongues language. Was curious what that one was chosen? other than that, going to give another look through tonight.

Morthos:
Nice to see an anti-paladin submission. I was surprised it was the first one, considering how rarely one gets a chance to play one. I didn't see anything from a quick read through, but I'll look again tonight.

Mark Sweetman:
No problem, I'll keep an eye out.

GM:
My bonus language from my intelligence was infernal, and that fit the backstory. I chose celestial from my curse in order make my curse be somewhat of a hindrance*.

*I have the tongues curse, and when in combat the tongues curse is the only language I can understand. If I were to choose infernal as the bonus language gained from my curse, knowing that it is likely that the other players could reasonably choose infernal then it would not really be a curse. I doubted anyone would have celestial.

Dotting for later, will present concept later.

LOL love it.

Race/class

Shocked and blinded by ange due to her parents killer was being let free Scorn took matters into her own hands following him into the town square and challanged him to combat where she proceded to throttle him to death with her bare hands. The fight was witnessed by dozens of people and Scorn was swiftly arrested and sentenced. She now has a burning hatred of the current order and wishes to see it torn down and replaced.

For her crime I'm going for Dueling to the death

Appearence

Scorn.

Okay now she's ready for prime time.

Price is spun up to your requirements.

King Markadian:

Yeah, go figure. I find that to be pretty weird. I believe during Sweetman's recruit, there were like 3 submitted, or something like that. *Shrugs* Who knows? It's like you say, it's a rare opportunity to play one, so what the hey?

Cool. Let me know if you've any questions.(Just make sure they're really easy questions, please.) ;)

The Exchange

Hektir Feegle, Tracksmage:

Feegle sits in his cell and yet again mourns his fate.

The bastard king. The frakking bastard king.

Losing Marigold Pottersmoot was the last straw in a long line of last straws for Feegle.

First it was the lands the King 'protected' against poaching. The treaty with the First Worlders shouldn't apply to *me*.
Then the taxes for 'meat from non-domesticated' animals. Stupid frakking policy...fully designed to screw me. People should be allowed to eat the meat I brought for sale: it's not like the herds of dinosaurs and lizards are running low.
But then, Marigold Pottersmoot. Marigold! That was the last straw...the King must go down.

I can't do my job where I want to work.
I can't hunt what I want to hunt.
And then the walking jappery steals my woman too?!

Feegle spits on the king's wall of his cell and imagines it running up the wall and into the King's eye.

"This is too much to bear, you jacklesnapes!! Let me outta here and I'll make you my next prey!" Feegle yells again at the guards.

Feegle runs his hands through his oily black hair and wonders if he'll ever get to cut it again.

Ah Marigold...I'll find you. I'll find you and get you back.

Feegle sits in silence for a while longer, clinching his fists in rage.

Feats: Each character will receive an additional non-combat feat at first level. Approval of such feats are subject to GM approval.

Summoners are in a difficult spot when it comes to skills, would you allow the additional traits feat for the bonus feat to round out my class skills?

Also, what would be a suitable choice of bonus languages to represent extensive study of old religions texts?

@Count Buggula:
Quote:

Please, please, please tell me that your prisoner number in Branderscar will be 24601...

So King Markadain V is Sly Draw being a non conbat feat is that ok to take or shoud I have something else?

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

Lord King Markadian:

Delivery of the prisoner:

Spoiler:
A rough figure is shoved by his guards toward the commons, his eyes narrow and flitting, taking in the acrid scents and hard stares. Hard men know to avoid the appearance of weakness. It seems clear he is sizing up his first mark - a look that forces several other prisoners to look away.

Manacles lock his hands together, but there are no chains. Iron bands weigh down his unshod feet as he is shoved by guards to the cold stone. He rises to his knees and leers at the guard - a threat. A promise.

"This one here ought to give you trash some sport. A pirate. Probably helped maroon some of you before you ended up rotting in here." The guard spits, his gap-toothed smile both cruel and haughty. He kicks at the dirty prisoner - a blow that describes the exchange as personal and not merely abusive. When the guard lowers himself to the seated prisoner, he speaks in low tones.

"For three weeks we chased you after we sank ye. You killed eight good men trying to run from us. I'll be praying ye don't last three weeks here, and that I'm blessed to tell those families I saw it done meself."

The guard grabs the young man by the hair and jerks his head until the pale light illuminates blood-stained cheeks and icy blue eyes. A prominent scar runs across the bottom of the left side of his face, made more pronounced by the lack of stubble along its length.

With a quivering frown, the guard clears his throat and spits into the prisoner's eye. He slams the man's head into the grime-covered stones and stares until he sees blood flow. He rises from his haunches and leaves wordlessly.

Eyes fall on the bleeding man. A new prisoner must be taught things. The lords of the damned look on, wondering who will try the new man's mettle. His return gaze tells them he is ready.

No one moves.

Dinner's here. More soon.

Birthmark:
Source Pathfinder RPG Character Traits 4
You were born with a strange birthmark that looks very similar to the holy symbol of the god you chose to worship later in life.

Benefit: This birthmark can serve you as a divine focus for casting spells, and, as a physical manifestation of your faith, increases your devotion to your god—you gain a +2 trait bonus on all saving throws against charm and compulsion effects as a result.

**I would like to re-flavor this as a burn scar**

Murder:
You have killed without just cause and been condemned for it. To be sent to Branderscar Prison, this was no typical killing but a particularly savage and unforgiveable act. You may also have killed someone with powerful friends.
Punishment: Death by beheading
Benefit: You deal 1 additional point of damage when flanking a foe. This additional damage is a trait bonus.

Racial Abilities:
Heart of the Wilderness:
Humans raised in the wild learn the hard way that only the strong survive. They gain a bonus equal to half their character level on Survival checks. They also gain a +5 bonus on Constitution checks to stabilize when dying and add half their character level to their Constitution score when determining the negative hit point total necessary to kill them.

***I would like to flavor this as another 'benefit' of the Contract.***

FC bonus - Bonus Spells
+1 Orison

Class Features:
Spells
Orisons
Curse of Black Blood (Su):
All black-blooded oracles effectively share the same curse—the curse of black blood. The material affects these oracles physically and mentally, altering both physiology and mystic powers. The blood of a black-blooded oracle actually runs black, and wounds she suffers are infected by her own power and are difficult to heal. She is immune to the effects (both beneficial and destructive) of black blood. Positive and negative energy affect a black-blooded oracle as if she were undead—positive energy harms her, while negative energy heals her (this aspect of the curse has no effect if the oracle is undead). The curse also dulls the oracle’s coordination somewhat, imparting a –4 penalty on all Dexterity-based skill checks. At 5th level, she gains cold resistance 5. This increases to cold resistance 10 at 10th level, and immunity to cold at 15th level.

This ability replaces the oracle’s curse.

Mystery - Flame

Revelations:

Darkvision (Ex):
A black-blooded oracle gains darkvision with a range of 60 feet. The range increases to 90 feet at 15th level.

Cinder Dance (Ex):
Your base speed increases by 10 feet. At 5th level, you receive Nimble Moves as a bonus feat. At 10th level, you receive Acrobatic Steps as a bonus feat. You do not need to meet the prerequisites to receive these feats. Oracles with the lame oracle curse cannot select this revelation.

Spells:
Orisons: Bleed, Create Water, Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Guidance
1st level (0/4 used): Bless, CLW, ILW

I've reviewed all the entries on the campaign tab at present (20 so far). I had a few comments below for some. Also, glad to see you keeping an eye on this game, Gary!

Haruk:
Just curious where you rolled your stats at? A link would be great.

Zerubabbel:
Curious why you chose the Seeker Archtype?

Kalina:
Just an FYI you listed male on your Alias.

Jethryk:
Did you have any special connection between the Black Blood archtype and the Flames Mystery?

Morthos:
What is the link that brought you to Asmodeus and the path of the anti-paladin? Did you have a mentor or chose the path of your own accord?

Scorn:
I'm not getting a feel for Scorn yet. Why were her parents killed by the hunter, and why were you spared? The monks that found you, anything special about their order (did they try to keep you on a good path, or more neutral viewpoint, or even evil)? Were you part of a larger tribe in the area or travelers in the area?

Uh..I don't know how to link a post elsewhere on thread. But I rolled the dice under this alias.

Ooh!, could Haruk have been the one to have turned Morthos? That would be really neato keen!

DOH! I didn't think to look for you main account. Brain is on cooldown at present from reviewing so many great submissions. I toyed with the idea of just taking everyone and adapting it to a group of 20, but then I realized you guys are the evil ones in here, not me!

You could run 4 groups of 5. >:)

King Markadian:

If you decide to roll with Haruk, I could say he learned of Asmodeus through him in prison. I think that would be pretty cool also. I intially had him learn of Asmodeus in prison. But I wound up switching things around, based on the fact that I wasn't sure how that would all work.

He has no desire to worship Mitra(or Sarenrae or whichever you decide to roll with) seeing how his life has been nothing but hardship. What have they ever done for him? Plus, in his mind, he feels he deserves to be in power, and Asmodeus is the perfect being to grant him that.

He would choose the Antipaladin due to being the complete opposite of the King's knights.(I'm totally going on the fact the King has paladin's within his army) What better way to oppose them, than to become exactly as them, only better.(See how I threw "better" in there?) :)

If not Haruk, then he would be interested into why there are those being arrested for worshipping him. He would be most interested in learning about who he is, based solely on the fact that the King is against it. Once he learned what Asmodeus is all about--the greatest benefit being power, obviously--how could he refuse? Especially considering that he KNOWS Talingarde would be far better off worshiping Asmodeus than these "other" gods. At least, in his mind.
