Funnily enough, when I first created a character named Nicat, about 30 years ago, he was a halfling rogue. When I first made something resembling this version of Nicat, for a RotR PbP that fizzled, he was a human rogue. In various forms, he's been a rogue in several games over the years. This is the first time he's been a bard - it's been a lot of fun so far, but he does have some inevitable roguish flavor.
In any case, I think Eostre's reaction was appropriate, since he's a spontaneous caster who hasn't actually used much magic so far, and it creates a fun dynamic between them.

That's the idea. I love how Eostre gets all crabby and huffy and Nicat responding with innocence and calmness just gets her more flustered. He can teach her a lot about relaxing, I think.
M Halfling Bard 6 | HP 50 | AC 22 | T 16 | FF 17 | CMD 19 | Fort +4 | Ref +11 | Will +6 (+2 vs fear) | Init +5 | Perc +12
I tried to especially fluster her with Nicat describing himself as 'subtle' - which he's not. And though Eostre might not pride herself on her dwarven subtlety, she sure can recognize Nicat's lack of it.
As to teaching her about relaxing - she'll have to learn by observing, since I don't see Nicat as a natural teacher. He's a bit too oblivious and eager to dart off and check out the next thing.
Case in point:
Nicat wrote: "Look, a button!" Nicat does the inevitable thing, squatting down and mashing his small hand down eagerly on the button. :)
M Halfling Bard 6 | HP 50 | AC 22 | T 16 | FF 17 | CMD 19 | Fort +4 | Ref +11 | Will +6 (+2 vs fear) | Init +5 | Perc +12
Just imagine if you had made it a shiny red button! Though I'm not sure how he could have acted more impulsively when presented with a button.
Perhaps by holding it down?

Beginning on Saturday, I'll be on a two-week work trip. I will still be able to post most days, but my schedule, internet access and time zone will all be very different, so posting may be a bit erratic.
Well, it's been a while since I PMed Sylvia's player. Haven't yet gotten a response.
In the interest of moving things along, I'd like to ask you something:
What would you like me to do with her?
I could bot her for the time being, if you'd like.
Male Human Monk-6 (HP: 49/56; AC 19, 18t, 16ff; F+7,R+7,W+8)
Botting her for now sounds fine to me
M Halfling Bard 6 | HP 50 | AC 22 | T 16 | FF 17 | CMD 19 | Fort +4 | Ref +11 | Will +6 (+2 vs fear) | Init +5 | Perc +12
Bit on! And let's all think a bit on who we might invite to replace her, since we'll likely need to.
Female Dwarf Transmuter 5/Cyphermage 1 | HP 44/44 | Physical Enhancement +2 Str; Telekinetic Fist 7/7
I just hope the game doesn't die. This'll be our third dropout if Sylvia doesn't return. :(

We can keep it alive, no problem. The DM is committed and we've got a small core group. It's just a matter of finding another player - there are always people on the recruitment boards looking for RotR games.
Speaking of keeping it alive...
HP: 23/23 AC 17, Fort +5, Ref +0, Will +4; Init +3; Perception +7; CMD 14 Human Magus 2
Well, not the most auspicious start for the tank...
Eh, not one for the monsters either. No worries. :)
And Eostre, the duration for mage armour is 1 hour/level. So you've got some time before it wears off. :)
Female Dwarf Transmuter 5/Cyphermage 1 | HP 44/44 | Physical Enhancement +2 Str; Telekinetic Fist 7/7
I know. I was trying to figure out how to split two hours into rounds.
1 round = 6 seconds
1 minute = 60 seconds = 10 rounds
1 hour = 60 minutes = 1200 seconds = 200 rounds.
So you have about 400 rounds of mage armour.

Wowsers. Okay. Fixed my post when I realized Ear-Piercing Scream only affects a single creature, so friendly fire isn't an issue with it.

Just want to say, this is a fun group in a fight. Some great descriptions of everything that happens!
HP: 23/23 AC 17, Fort +5, Ref +0, Will +4; Init +3; Perception +7; CMD 14 Human Magus 2
Typical, I remember there's buffs, and suddenly the roll is good.
Also, I've put a map at the top of the page. It's got where everyone's positions are.
Conner, from where you're standing, you can only hit the monster to the north. The one Ekan's facing requires a move action to get into position.
HP: 23/23 AC 17, Fort +5, Ref +0, Will +4; Init +3; Perception +7; CMD 14 Human Magus 2
I'll hit the one I can reach then, dead is dead.
HP: 23/23 AC 17, Fort +5, Ref +0, Will +4; Init +3; Perception +7; CMD 14 Human Magus 2
Should I wait for Ekan to post so Conner can get past him?
You can Delay your action until Ekan goes.
Alternatively, you are allowed to move through a friendly PC's space.
PFSRD wrote: Moving Through a Square
You can move through an unoccupied square without difficulty in most circumstances. Difficult terrain and a number of spell effects might hamper your movement through open spaces.
Friend: You can move through a square occupied by a friendly character, unless you are charging. When you move through a square occupied by a friendly character, that character doesn't provide you with cover.
Sorry about keeping you waiting--I've been on a bit of an RPG burnout and I've been trying to decompress. I'm still here for ya!

Not to worry - in my experience, PbP's tend to slow down a lot over the holidays, so you'll be getting a bit of a break naturally. Though the holidays have their own madness to them...
I'm sorry my posting rate has dropped off lately.
My grandmother passed away last Friday, and the entire weekend was spent getting things ready for her funeral. As a result, I'm struggling to get up the motivation to post again.
I'll move us along tomorrow morning.

Sorry for your loss. Take the time you need to get back in the swing of things, and maybe we can provide a little entertainment to lighten your load.

ARGH
Sorry to have kept you waiting!

You know, if I keep doing one liners and puns with Conner, I'm going to need to get him some shades and a hireling to follow him around and yell YEEEEEEEEEEAH! when needed.
On bus right now. Will post when I have access to a computer.
Waiting to see if either Conner or Ekan post.

Hey, I was just waiting to see if I got nipped again.
HP: 23/23 AC 17, Fort +5, Ref +0, Will +4; Init +3; Perception +7; CMD 14 Human Magus 2
Okay, let's try those rolls again, because that was bonkers.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Damage: 2d8 + 4d6d1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1, 4) + (8, 3, 4, 9, 10, 2, 4, 16, 3, 7) + 7 = 78
[dice=Crit Damage]2d8+4[dice]
HP: 23/23 AC 17, Fort +5, Ref +0, Will +4; Init +3; Perception +7; CMD 14 Human Magus 2
Okay, what the heck is going on?
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16
Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Crit Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10
M Halfling Bard 6 | HP 50 | AC 22 | T 16 | FF 17 | CMD 19 | Fort +4 | Ref +11 | Will +6 (+2 vs fear) | Init +5 | Perc +12
Conner - you can edit your posts up to one hour after you put them up, so you can go in and fix that dice code. At a minimum, it looks like you're missing a couple of plus signs, so it's deciding how many dice to roll by rolling dice.
You can also preview your post, to see if there's a crit threat. Then you add in the crit confirmation roll if it's needed, rather than putting it in every time. Our DM may not feel this way, but I find it confusing to see the Crit Confirmation roll with every post - it works better if you determine if there's a crit threat and roll the confirmation if necessary, rather than making the DM check the crit range of whatever weapon you happen to be using.
I would appreciate that, yes. :)

Sorry about my delays. I've had some weird connection trouble the last few days. Posts got eaten etc.
It's alright. Welcome back! :)
And you should have 8 HP, Ekan.

Ey, Runecat, what do you do for the Thassilonian words? I feel it'd be badass for Eostre to boast to the demon when it's beaten, since she's fluent in the language.
I plug 'em into Google Translate. Also, I keep a list of all the languages I use in the Campaign Info tab.
