Both Red and I have been interested in this AP for a while but have been having a hard time finding a consistent good DM to run it. As such, we're going to run/play this as a joint venture. Red will be running all the odd numbered books and I'll be running all of the even numbered books.
This system means the dreaded DMPC will rear its ugly head but both Red and I are experienced enough that hopefully this won't be a problem. When Red is DMing, his character will sort of take a step back and basically only do stuff when prompted. When I'm DMing, the same will occur for Bjorkus.

Bjorkus was originally planned as a ranger with a bard dip but I wouldn't mind yielding ranger if someone else wants it. Ultimately he's going to melee-face beater of some kind.

Core races would be preferred but if I said absolutely nothing else, I'd be a hypocrite. I'm more or less okay with being a hypocrite, but if there's something your character concept is totally married to, run it by Red and I and we can work something out. What he said. Anything in particular you're looking at?
Class-wise, or with regard to house rules? If the former, aquatic druid is looking interesting. If the latter, not really, just find that it's a good thing to know. :)
Male Human(Amazing)
Like we said, nothing comes to mind. But if it comes up in play, we'll adjust and work it out.
Druids are good and appropriate for this AP.
On a side note for the majority of you who have not had me DM for you, I roll all reactive checks, saves, perception checks, etc... If you have something weird that I didn't factor in, let me know and I can retcon it.
Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40
Because, you know, that's not hard.

Male Human(Amazing)
And I know this is a loaded request, but I will need everyone to write down their height/weight details in their profile if they haven't. It'll make sense why in game.
Male Human Paladin/20
Has anyone built a decent knife master/scout or are they subpar like most rogue builds? I really want to build a "piratey" guy.
I'd recommend not worrying about "subpar" and just playing what you'll have fun with. :)
Male Human(Amazing)
Well scout eventually give you more options to get sneak attack, which is useful. And knife masters do even more damage with sneak than a typical rogue does, though I don't really like rogue archetypes that give away trapfinding.
But ditto to what Oladon said. Ultimately play what you want to as long as you have fun.

Knifemaster and Scout are both good. You'll be fine.
Is a campaign trait required for this game?
Female Half Elf Urban Ranger / 7 and Wizard / 1 and Arcane Archer / 1 -- Perception: +18 in urban, +21 traps (otherwise +16) -- Init: +4 -- HP:49/59 -- AC: 23(Touch:15 / FF:19) -- F:7, R:11, W:5 +2vs enchants
At some point today I will make up my mind regarding what race and bloodline for my sorceress.
Male Human(Amazing)
Yes, one of your two traits has to be a campaign trait.
Hrm, okay. I'm finding them less than inspiring.
Male Human(Amazing)
Really? I thought they were pretty good. Ship's surgeon is pretty amusing too.
I did get a chuckle out of that one.
It's just that most of them either don't fit flavor-wise, give a redundant bonus (like a class skill that's already a class skill), or both. :/
Male Human(Amazing)
Well it still gives you a bonus to the skill even if it's a class skill. And some of them gives you some unique bonuses like the one that gives you +1 at/dmg versus sharks and aquatic creatures and an awesome peg leg. Or the Dockside Brawler that gives you +1 dmg with brass knuckles.
Female Human
Lucrezia here.
Think I've settled on a Sylph that is an elemental air sorceress. She has the trait: Buccaneer’s Blood, which has one of her ancestors as a infamous Free Captain of the Shackles. That ancestor was reputed to be a powerful sorcerer as well as a cunning and bloodthirsty captain and there is a story of him capturing and taming the very wind itself so that his boat would never be stuck in a calm. What is not widely known was that he stuck that captured elemental wind into a female, human form and took her for a mistress. At his eventual defeat, she was freed of her earthly form and abandoned her young child as an orphan, leaving her clutching debris of the now ruined ship and eventually washing ashore near Port Peril where she has been living for several years.
Male Human(Amazing)
I like the story, Joy. So how has being an orphan affected her? Is she jaded, or is she a plucky Oliver Twist type trying to make the most of it?
Female Human
Plucky. :)
She also shares the trait of being an Albino with her pirate captain father. Hence her typical use of strong make-up to give herself some color.
Male Human(Amazing)
Well she will get plenty of sun on the deck of the Wormwood. As she cleans it up from port to stern. :)
Female Human
So she gets to spend all day on her knees cover in soapy water?
