In my experience PbP works best when I write from a "show don't tell" mindset and try to advance the story or engage another player with each post. That's a little hard with Akula, who isn't the most social fellow in the world.

Internal monologues work well to give the rest of the players a better view of your character, but they are extra work. If you don't want to do it, don't.

When I can't think of anything to add to a scene, sometimes I find it easiest to do a "checking in, nothing to add" post in discussion.

I'm with Savien about waiting for the social people to do the talking. Everyone has their thing. Julio hasn't gotten a lot of spotlight time yet. This seems like a good opportunity to let him take the lead.

That happens sometimes. It is really easy to accidentally click the little x next to the post update counter and turn off notifications. Especially on a mobile device. I've done that more times than I can count.

We've had very slow posting rates recently. I've asked that every try to get in one post a day to keep things moving and I'd still love to see that.

Posts in the last week:
Sureliah - 2 but none since last Friday
Blitz - 3 but none since Monday
Akula - 3
Savien - 3
Julio - 2

I know you won't always be able to drop an awesome post every day and it's harder if it is roleplaying and exploration and not focused on your character...but we can all do better.

If you have any requests or recommendations for me to make things better, do not hesitate.

Side note - you guys are basically halfway to level 2.

orry about my part in that, Meepo inadvertently his a nerve with Blitz that shut him up pretty quick. He is also of the less skilled of the bunch right now, so he is kind of waiting for something to happen. His ungodly Perception check possibly illustrates this...

When Blitz has something to add, I guarantee it will be added, though!

I'm back! The trip was fantastic. We went to Catalina Island, and then to Anime Los Angeles. Got to meet the cast of Cowboy beebop.

He's wearing the studded leather, but my sheet is accurate for that. You rolled the correct modifier.

Notes on this combat:

-The map of the citadel published on the .pdf is pretty bad so I made the map we are using myself...Generally I like it but this particular combat doesn't lend itself well to Google Slides. Just a reminder, CTRL+ALT++ zooms in. You might need it.
-I've heard from Sureliah's player. Honestly I'm still not sure if I will have to play her for this combat. I won't let it hold up progress here though.
-Meepo will always act last for the good guys in group initiative.
-Speaking of group initiative, having Akula and Julio act first here is a little odd to me since they aren't close to the...enemies...and probably can't see them. But that's the way the dice rolled.

-Starting Friday, I'm going on vacation with my family so expect very little posting from Friday thru Wednesday. Sorry but I will be back!

Any chance Savien can drop his torch as a free action when he notices them? He's got a polearm out and Combat Reflexes, but not enough hands to wield it. Lol

I don't see a reason you can't do that.

Ok, awesome. It makes a big difference. If they run at Savien, he gets up to 3 attacks of opportunity with his reach weapon, which he can make even flat-footed. I'll do a quick response post and put my attacks of opportunity in a spoiler in case they come up.

...so what I meant was that on your turn you could drop the torch...sadly the rats will still reach you before the torch hits the ground. Sorry I wasn't clear.

Pretty sure that rat is dead.

I put a torch on the map where he dropped it. Hopefully the rats are afraid to walk near the torch and provoke some attacks this time. XD

Sorry I haven't been able to post, work has been on my ass and I haven't had that much time to check the threads, so I've been limited to just a few posts in just a few games, sorry I haven't been able to talk you this until now, I do wish to continue with you all, but for now I might need botted.

All we have from Akula is the shot he took in preround 1. Julio technically posted in round 1 but he didn't take any actions.

Edit: I assume Sureliah will get botted with the next GM post if she hasn't acted by then. We just need the other 2. I don't think Jon wants to bot 3 characters here.

If Sureliah is in combat have her Eidolon smash stuff(obviously) while she sits back and shoots things. When possible she'll just use acid splash, but if something that looks particularly dangerous comes around she'll use her Crossbow.

I think you should just have Akula take a shot at a rat not adjacent and then draw his axe. He can get into melee next turn.

I don't think so...just medium sized with some natural attacks.

Note - that doesn't mean you won't get filth fever nor that you aren't just filthy. I mean you guys have been on the road for a few days now and are now groping around in the dark.

I thought about doing that instead of tenticles, but tentacles felt more thematic...

Next evolution is going into reach with his tentacles though. Then grab, then pull! Then I don't know, likely constrict.
