Damiel continues to struggle with his shadow as he misses it yet again. The spiritual ally form Nasira just manages to get a hit as it is flanking with Arigoder. Yet even then it still remains.

The shadows continue their attacks. The first seems about to drain Ansha completely and have her join their ranks until it was an image touched instead of her. Damiel is able to jump out of the way avoiding any damage while Nasira stands there taking the hit. It is a weak one though as it only drains 1 point of strength damage this time.

Ansha waits until a shadow tries to grab her again and invokes the command word of her staff, sending yet more magic missiles hammering into whatever fiend was impertinent enough to attempt to touch her.

Between the critical hit from the summoned spiritual ally and Morgrym's affinity to incorporeal creatures the shadow pestering Nasira is put down. Arigoder goes after the shadow on Damiel dealing a critical hit once again. Only the incorporeal nature of the creature keeps it from disappearing back into the void. Damiel is able to hit the shadow thanks to the flanking position of Arigoder. It is not enough though to destroy the shadow. Ansha calls forth her stored magic withing her staff hitting the shadow for another round of magic missiles.

Good guys up. Confused as well as incorporeal says nothing about immune to crits or sneak but when I pull it up in herolab it is listed as immune to both. Any help with that?

never mind found it under subtype instead of the incorporeal entry...An incorporeal creature has no physical body. An incorporeal creature is immune to critical hits and precision-based damage (such as sneak attack damage) unless the attacks are made using a weapon with the ghost touch special weapon quality. In addition, creatures with the incorporeal subtype gain the incorporeal special quality. We will continue this fight as is but not from here on out.

Morgrym is only able to get a single blow to land true but it is enough to send the shadow back to the negative energy plane of existence. Only 1 shadow remains which is easily taken care of by all the readied actions coming at it.

Nasira will burn mythic CSW for Arigoder and Ansha, giving them each 3 points of restored ability damage, presumably to their strength, before spending another on herself. STR 9 isn't great, but it's better than doing nothing. If you actually need any hit points restored, I can roll, but I don't know that anyone was down.

I just went back through the fight to make sure my math was right and realized that Damiel got tagged once that I overlooked. I had a round where I did not do anything - may I retcon that I healed him that round to keep him from becoming a shadow? Otherwise, I need to do something more drastic at this point.

Actually, I was terribly sloppy in my records. I said I cast a spell on myself and didn't update my strength. That could have gone to Damiel who was in worse shape without changing anything - but the very next round, he took 6 and would have been at zero before my hold action could have helped him. So without GM fiat, he's dead, I think. With aid of a benevolent GM, he's currently at 3 Strength, not 9 as I thought.


Yes you could have healed him as I did see you did not take an action 1 time. Damiel still alive at 3 str.

E3. Shelves of the Least: The walls of this 50-foot-high tower are covered with bookshelves. The thousands of books kept here each detail the history, accomplishments, and eventual death of one of the many heroes, villains, demons, angels, and other creatures who were slain by Nocticula and thereafter became one of her lesser Midnight Isles— the hundreds of minor islets, atolls, and rocks of the realm linked to nascent demon lords, mythic heroes and villains, and other creatures whose power simply wasn’t great enough to transform into one of the major isles of the realm.
E4. Nocticula Shrine: A single porphyry statue of Nocticula stands in this room before a small shrine.

All 3 of the doors to these areas are unlocked and not trapped. Opening the large set of double doors to the northwest you see a pair of scribes busily going about documenting all of Nocticula’s accomplishments in large tomes. They look up as the doors open.

As you move in towards the second set of doors the coloxus demons start fluttering their wings in agitation. They then make ready to attack you all!

All non demons need 2 Will saves DC 24 or slowed for 6 rounds.

The demonic flies work in tandem as 1 of them casts mythic haste, quickened invisibility, and moves about the room while the second casts mind fog on everyone before casting quickened invisibility as well and moving to a new position.

If I can use my Shape Emotions class ability, add 4 to all of those rolls (and everyone in the party within 30 ft's rolls). Also, question: Mind Fog is a 20 ft AOE that affects everyone, caster included. Are the coloxi affected by it also?

The demons were out of the area of the cloud as it was centered back behind the party.

Ansha you do see them on opposite corners of the room outside of the effect of the mind fog. They are flying up on top of the ceiling as well requiring reach weapons to hit them.
The slow effect is a will save but not an emotion effect that I can see so Shaoe Emotions won’t apply here.

Morgrym swings once with incredible power at where he thinks the demon should be but the earth breaker meets nothing but empty air.

Only Ansha can see them so please include miss chance for invisibility on your attacks. Thanks

It’s only a 20’ radius, so if it’s centered behind the party, does it cover the whole shrine room or does it not include part of it? (And if so, which part?)

It should work on the save against Mind Fog, at the very least. Shape Emotions works on any mind-affecting spell or effect.


Yes on the mind fog. Good call on that. The fog extend up to the last squares in front of the second set of double doors and the far corners. Use the bottoms right corner of Damiel’s square to figure the area.
