I had posted my action yesterday Variel - I guess I didn't hit 'submit' - thanks for the GMPC

I would use the Adamantine Longsword though ;)

"Down and back monstrosity" - the paladin roars, deciding to change tactics, and conjuring his Goddess' power, to channel positive energy washing over the creature.

Channel to harm: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

Not impressive...

Venja and Duardlara both hit but for minor damage while beck and Sheelah posistion themselves for flanks. Jetro hits twice with arrows again but can not pierce the iron to damage the stove. Helgash tries a different tactic and hits the stove with holy power.

Will save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 fail

The tactic worked and the stove took the full damage.

The stove retaliates back going for the holy warrior.

Thanks for the DMPC Variel - today was a particularly long and nasty day, crammed with work...

Smoking and smoldering, the tiefling looks around at the area for any further signs of attackers. Finding none, he turns to his companions - "Are you all well friends? I cannot fathom what that creature meant to do, but it payed dearly"

L 12: This is Granny Nan's sitting room, which contains a table
in the northeast corner on which rests an attractive glass
oil lamp atop a doily. A rocking chair sits in the southwest
corner next to a basket containing yarn, knitting needles,
and a half-completed mitten. The room is otherwise empty.

L 13:Toys and dolls are strewn about the floor of this room, and small
tables and chairs sized for small creatures or children sit in the
northeast and northwest corners. Books, papers, quills, and ink
vials sit atop the tables. A cot stands to the south east. The windows
are barred, but the shutters are open to let in the natural light.

The books on the tables are children's picture
books, or collections of fables and folklore from other
nations of the Inner Sea. One dubious and inappropriate
exception is entitled The Wilewood Labyrinth. The book is
the life's work of a scholar of distant Sevenarches, collected
posthumously. It contains many ghastly illustrations of
shadowy creatures, and is worth 375 gp.

L 14: This room contains a bathtub to the south and washbasins
and a privy to the north. Granny Nan frequently tricks her
young victims into washing up before preparing them for
cooking, telling them they'll be sent home after they've had
a good bath, and to remember to scrub behind their ears.

Forced to sell her sole remaining property last year, Granny
Nan faced potential poverty, a situation the White Witches
found "unseemly" for one of Jadwiga blood. For the sake of
propriety, she was appointed mistres s of the Winter Guard
barracks in the clock tower. In fact, Granny Nan has little
authority. Logrivich mostly ignores her, but the ice trolls
adore her. They're unaccustomed to someone looking after
them and preparing savory food for them. In Logrivich's
(unauthorized) name, Granny Nan has requisitioned
children and young adults from Whitethrone's orphanages
and jails to feed her "boys." The leadership of the Winter
Guard assumes the requisitions are to feed the dragon, and
Amagarra has not corrected them.

Duardlara you hear mumbling from behind the door as it seems1 individual is talking to another but quietly. You will manage to pick the lock. As you do though you can hear the voice stop abruptly and then get louded and change in pitch. It sounds like a quick little chant or spell being cast.

init:

Beck 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 +1/2 level in cold
Helgash 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Jetro 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Duardlara 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Venja 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Granny Nan 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
other 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

From behind the door you hear more chanting and movement. The door is unlocked yet closed.

Good guys up bottom of the round.

Opening the door...The walls of this cozy bedroom are painted powder blue. A bed occupies the east side of the room, its headboard pushed against the wall with a nightstand on either side. A desk and chair sit next to the south wall. A dresser with a large mirror above it is pushed against the west wall. A curtain rod is affixed above the mirror with the curtain pulled away to either side.

A small creature resembling a gray emaciated child with cobwebs and dust for clothes and fox skull head stands in front of the door. Back behind it is an old woman who can be none other than Granny Nan and she appears to be blinking in and out of reality.

All people within 10 ft of the 'child' take a -1 penalty to attack rolls, damage rolls, and will saves as a large amount of sobbing in the voices of numerous children assault your ears.

other stuff:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 for 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1[/dice]

Is there a save against the aura of the 'child'?

"Oh, hello - we're here to inspect the facilities. Can't be too safe around children and kitchens, you know."

Duardlara attempts to throw herself into a roll past the creature that confronts her at the door, across the bed, and into the corner behind the witch.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

She draws her longsword as she moves.

Jetro shoots the nasty doll
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 251d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 211d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Nope no save on the aura that I can see.

Duardlara as you open the door the child bites at you and deals 1 damage. The bite feels uncomfortable as you feel your energy start to flow into it.

Will save dc 17 or fatigued for 1 hour.

Jetro your first shot hits but the second arrow misses the child. It seems that there is a protective force around it.

"What is this mockery?" - Helgash blurts in outrage - "What are we facing friends?" - he adds, stepping back, and swinging at the emaciated creature.

Knowledge (Religion?): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Bardiche: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 4 = 17
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

I assume this was a readied action. Nasty. It reduces your Will, then attacks it.

Will save DC 17: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 - 1 = 6

HAHAHA!

A fatigued character can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.

So my acrobatics roll adjusts down to 20 due to the Dexterity penalty.

Helgash this child is an attic whisperer and appears quite freindly to Granny Nan. Your attack swings and hits the same force resisting your attack as Jetro's arrow did.

Yes Duardlara, very nasty and it was a readied action. It gets worse hopefully you get to experience it!
