I'm guessing Touch AC 11 probably hits this huge thing. If so, that's 64 points of non-lethal damage. From a second-level spell. ANd I rolled low!

Male Half-Orc Magus (inactive)

It also looks like two of those rays threaten a critical! :o

The fourth roll is a confirmation for the third.

The 11 just misses Cynehelm.

Cynehelm launches a few well placed magical blasts that rock the summoned creature with nonle5hal damage.

HP: 131/131 || AC: 26 (30 with Mobility)

In spite of the brutal charge hit, Greta welcomes Duardlara's appearance with a smile, and sidesteps to flank the one she still considers their main opponent - "You understand now? Die!" - she growls, swinging her greataxe at Vsesolod again and again.

I have updated Duardlara's position on the map. Greta shifts 5' to flank.

Greataxe: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 2 = 18
Damage if it hits: 12 + 16 = 28

Greataxe: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 2 = 31
Damage if it hits: 12 + 16 = 28

Greataxe: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 = 19
Damage if it hits: 12 + 16 = 28

So... Will drop the Life Link with Jetro. Orgar heals 5 (wakes up with 4hp) and Greta heals 5 also (goes to 47). Helgash takes 10 hp damage.

The paladin recovers from some of his wounds, bathing in the holy light of Iomedae, then steps forward to protect Cynehelm and Orgar - "Stand fast my friends! they falter!"

Not gonna engage that one now - Helgash needs to heal. Sorry Cynehelm and Orgar, I can't channel because it would heal the blue one...

'gash, did Greta's damage rolls need a "1d" before the 12 or did you roll them offline somehow? Three damage rolls of 28 seem a bit too coincidental.

HP: 131/131 || AC: 26 (30 with Mobility)

Greta misses with her first and third attack but that did not matter. What mattered was that her second blow struck home and dropped the centaur to the ground leaving only the summoned creature.

Stabalization check 1d20 + 6 - 12 ⇒ (20) + 6 - 12 = 14

Too close to charge Duardlara the creature looks towards Helg@sh and tries to ram his lance through the paladin’s skull.

Unsure whether the creature moved. If he did, she will attempt to tumble into flanking position. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Meh, I was not expecting it to simply disengage you to charge me but... I did ponder this possibility however, and found no alternative for Helgash - Cynehelm would be obliterated if I was not in the way, I believe.

We could have used smarter tactics and played more as a team this encounter though...

Helgash takes a brutal lance hit which threatens to skewer him - however at the last moment there is a flash of Light where the weapon hit the Paladin, and some of his wounds mend immediately.

I considered that, but Cynehelm’s much better fireball didn’t seem to have as much effect as desired and mine is more likely a minion-roaster than BBEG-killer. I opted to enable our bruisers. I thought a well-placed sneak attack on the weakened cleric might allow Greta to start hammering on the heavy hitter. At least I was able to provide you a flank to help finish the creature off.

Duardlara notes that Greta has finalized the deal with the cleric, but that the many-legged bruiser might actually recover. She moves to do her best to avoid that possibility.

If the summoned beast didn't disappear when it fell - since there was considerable nonlethal damage contributing to its fall - D'lara will go for the CDG.

Duardlara you begin to start the descent when you feel the unmistakable affects off magic upon you. You feel your body age quicker. (You are now 1 year older) Jumping back quickly you study this pit more closely...the magic of the pit ages people for every round spent within the pit. Spend too long and you wil die of old age. You think a fort save will prevent the aging. However if you fail then there is a chance of the aging affecting you mentally and needin* a will save as well.

The pit is 120ft deep but the winding ramp means it is more like 240ft of movement by the ramp.

P.S. there is another chest down there as well...

Human Fighter14HP97/112 Init+6,Per+14,F13R8W10 AC20T12FF17

I got rope

With the fly spell and it will take you a double move to get down. Another round to tie the rope to the chest. A Third round to get to the scale and pick it up. And 2 rounds to get back out as climbing takes double the movement. That is 5 rounds.

Duardlara you remember in the previous encounter with Jadrenka that you found a couple of scrolls in the chest that might be of some assistance: scroll of age resistance, lesser.

Male Half-Orc Magus (inactive)

Of course rapid ageing is less problematic for Duardlara the elf, than Orgar the half-orc.

Duardlara nods as the threads of a plan come together. ”Yes, this could work. Start tying ropes together, but I will keep mine to use as a sling for the chest. The scroll vs aging should help resist the effects and the fly will reduce the time required to remain in the Pit. Let me see, do I have a crowbar yet?”

After a quick search through her gear, she shakes her head. ”I think I left that when...", she looks up as she stops talking. "That’s old news. Anyone have a crowbar or other lever I can use to slip the rope under the chest?”

She settles in to study the scroll closer in preparation for casting from it.

DM Variel, a rules question:
The default caster level for a fourth-level wizard spell would be 7th. She has a caster level of 8, but two of those levels are courtesy the magical knack trait, so they don't actually allow her access to fourth-level spells yet, just modify variables of her spells as an eighth-level caster rather than a sixth-level caster. I'm not sure if she needs to roll to activate the scroll or not. If I do, does she use her 'actual' caster level or her 'total' caster level?

Here's her roll, assuming the worst, to keep things moving. This should not be an issue because the DC is low, but I've been known to blow an easy roll before...

DM Variel:
I assume my Twist Away feat would not apply here. If it does, please add 4 to each fort save attempt.

Fortitude save #1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Fortitude save #2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
