Ok, then. Should I roll for Greta again or do I keep my rolls?

She would be at +10/+2 to hit and +11 to damage. Meaning:
- Attack 1 (w/ Furious Focus): 30
- Damage Attack 1: 14
- Crit Confirm: 25
- Additional damage if it crits: 25

Attack 2 misses by a mile.

If I need to roll again:

Greataxe 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Damage if it hits: 1d12 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Greataxe 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage if it hits: 1d12 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

The problem is not only the AC, but the damage... Helgash will step back nonetheless, and cast Divine Favor on himself.

Duardlara hasn't acted yet, correct? Nor Venja?

Sounds good Helgash. The crit does confirm. I don’t think anyone else has gone yet.

D'lara's post was right before Helgash's.

Who has the ghost touch swords to show the witchfire some love? More importantly, we need to focus on a target and bring her down asap to focus our damage and to break the threesome. We appear to be focused on Caigreal, but I wanted to make sure we continued to be.

Are we finishing up round 2? Or is it round 3?

My bad Lara. You did post :D

I think Helgash has one of the swords, and... Maybe Orgar or Greta have the other one? Not 100% sure...
And yep, still mauling away at Caigreal....

Variel, anything we can roll to know what they are, vulnerabilities, etc. We don't seem to be dealing much damage...

Finishing up round 2. Wasn't sure if Jetro was going to do anything or if Venja was back either. Apparently not.

Not sure at the moment what hags are for knowledge checks I think monstrous humanoids so know nature.

Orgar peppers Caigreal once again with 2 arrows but the damage is reduced. Since you have a magical weapon you are pretty certain it is either a special material needed or the type of damage is wrong.

Duardlara disappears from sight as she hopes to gain a tactical advantage in her weakened state. Helgash casts divine favoer to bolster himself.

Jetro rifles through his back looking for something that may be effective for him as the draw on his bow is too much now.

Venja goes for some magical shenanigans as she casts baleful polymorph on the pregnant woman/hag.

Breaking away from the coven the rat hag uses her magic to alter self to return to normal form. Caigreal, being hit repeatedly casts defensively to turn invisible to heal herself.

Good guys up but Caigreal is still invisible.

Geeez Orgar... Helgash and Greta are both exhausted, magic overcomes DR, and supposedly you were going to start taking a frontliner role of sorts, so... Why don't you move into melee man?

Also, I won't be able to heal, buff, and be up front all at once.

Botting Venja Kn (Nature) roll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Maybe someone can assist? Not sure if it is possible mid combat.

Last but not least, we've been using magical weapons against the hags. +1 overcomes DR vs. cold iron does it not? So it should be a different vulnerability? Hopefully the Knowledge roll will be worth something...

I couldn't do better than one normal attack after moving, unfortunately.
But now that I'm close I'll be able to be more useful.

Helgash Vanja would tell you that you think it is not a material that is needed but the type of weapon. The more blunt the weapon the better the chance of damaging Caigreal at least. The witchfire is ethereal as you already fought her.

Jetro tries to fire a pair of arrows but the exhaustion is making it hard for him to pull the bow properly. Cynehelm finishes conjuring a being from the heavenly realms and it promptly lands a solid blow with its greatsword and just misses with its bite attack. He then follows up with some much needed healing for Greata as she suffered the attack from the witchfire. Orgar fires again into Grishelmuk but only 3 points of damage are done.

a +3 weapon will bypass silver and cold iron damage reduction but not slashing/piercing/bludgeoning. Need some blunt arrows.

Venja looks around again for Caigreal but cant see her. Knowing the hag can't be too far from her initial location Venja casts glitterdust targeting the wall behind where she was located.

will save 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 the spell did not blind the hag but it did illuminate her for everyone else to target again.

Greta grunted away the pain as the fire hit her hard - she did not have another weapon, and no other tactic, so she pressed upon Caigreal yet again - "Let's finish this 'Gash!" - she winks at him, swinging at Caigreal as hard as she can.

5' step to the left, and Vital Strike.

I believe that glitterdust outline the person but still requires a 50% miss chance on attacks. If I am wrong please let me know.

Helgash 1d100 ⇒ 44
Greta 1d100 ⇒ 70

Helgash and Great tag team up on Caigreal like no other as they bring their weapons to bear. Even exhausted they both should have landed incredible hits that threaten to bring down the hag. However the glitterdust outlined the hag but not fully revealed her allowing for a chance that the blows could deviate. Such was the case as Helgash missed by a hairs' breath. tTe hag though has a mighty constitution and refuses to drop although you are certain that another blow at all would do her in.

I think it should make invisible things visible, per the spell description here.
I think this is the key bit: "... causing creatures to become blinded and visibly outlining invisible things for the duration of the spell."

Found a couple of board posts about it, and they most seem to agree there is no miss chance anymore after glitterdust - here, and here. Plus Orgar's input.

In that case Caigreal falls like a ton of bricks as even exhausted the power houses up front bring her down severing the coven connection.

Nope. If a spell misses in Spell Combat it's wasted.
I should've had my thinking cap on and done Spell Strike.
Then it would've done double damage as well as the scimitar's damage.

It won't matter - it was a natural 1, so it's a miss, regardless of her AC.

Duardlara makes her decision. Invisible, she makes her way across the room to where Greta threatens the incorporeal witch. The transformed winter wolf feels a hand on her shoulder and hears the elf's whisper, "Go get her, then."

Move across room to touch spell range of Greta and cast fly on her.

Orgar makes a flurry of blows witht he first one strikeing the hag critically. The other attack though misses. Not to be outclassed he pulls another trick out as he casts defensively and tries to land another strike. Unfortunately his concentration was on protecting himself while casting a spell and not on the attack.

Also Orgar you do not lose the spell as it is still held like a typical touch spell. Spellstrike just allows you to use your weapon as well. Just reread the rules on it.

Greta moves over to the witchfire that has been causing her some pain and promptly attacks it with her new longsword. Yet the witchfire is too agile for such a maneuver as the blade whistles past he incorporeal creature. Helgash the moves over to heal Greta while unbeknownst to him Duardlara is right next to him as well.

Duardlara casts a spell as Greta feels the weight of her bod being lifted up and able to move through the air.

Damage if it hits: 2d8 + 11 ⇒ (8, 7) + 11 = 26

Longsword Ghost Touch +1 CRIT?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Additional damage if it crits: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

Greta took 52 points of damage, then Cynehelm healed her for 26. Helgash Life Link heals her for another 5. She is currently at 53HP.

------

"Stand fast Greta - we shall not be defeated" - Helgash focuses himself on his Divine powers, creating a mystic connection between himself and his companion, so that some of her wounds will be transferred to him.

Casting Shield Other on Greta.

@ DM Variel:
I didn't use another spell, as in checking off another on Hero Labs.
I was just going for needless dramatic effect.
So, I was actually using the first Shocking Grasp again.
I should have said, sorry.
In any event: Griselmuk is definitely dead, no question of it.
And barbecued for good measure...

With only 1 hag left it seems that the tide has turned finally for the group. To add to the glory of the group Greta lands a critical hit against the incorporeal witchfire bringing it close to death.

Vowing to take one with her the witchfire continues to pour on the attacks against Greta.

touch attack 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14 for 8d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 5, 4, 5, 3, 1) = 31 +50% =46 damage

Good guys up and the witch fire is only a CR9 by herself!

Round 6

Orgar moves up and attacks the last hag with his scimitar:
Using Spell Strike

« შოკისმომგვრელი » . . "shocking grasp", in draconic

issar (+1 keen scimitar): 1d20 + 13 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 13 + 1 - 2 = 31
issar (to confirm): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
damage (scimitar + shocking grasp): 2d6 + 16 + 10d6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 16 + (1, 6, 4, 1, 5, 5, 3, 1, 3, 5) = 52

Hopefully that does the trick, even if the hag is immaterial

Just waiting to see the result

Sr check still needed Orgar and no crit as incorporeal unless using ghost touched weapon.

She will still be there Jetro.

Stats
HP 81/81 AC 20
Spells in effect:+2 Saves vs. Cold +5 Survival, -2 perception to hear when hatflaps pulled down.

Snap ShotBenefit: While wielding a ranged weapon with which you have Weapon Focus, you threaten squares within 5 feet of you. You can make attacks of opportunity with that ranged weapon. You do not provoke attacks of opportunity when making a ranged attack as an attack of opportunity.

Jetro aims two normal arrows that become magical as they leave his magic bow.

Shock Longbow+1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 231d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Shock: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Shock Longbow +1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Shock: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Jetro plugs the witchfire twice doing some damage with his magic arrows. Unfortunately it still nly takes half the damage from its incorporealness.

I think I made up incorporealness but it fits.

A short arcane phrase comes out of thin air behind Greta. As Duardlara reappears, four glowing arrows fly forth from her outstretched finger at the witchfire.

Magic Missile, four missiles

Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Rats, that's probably not gonna cut it.

Damage: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 3) + 4 = 16 Nice damage as they fizzle out, though.

HP: 131/131 || AC: 26 (30 with Mobility)

ONLY a CR9 by herself...

This time around Greta can feel Helgash's protection, and the fire does not hit as hard.

Shield Other takes 23 damage away and deals it to Helgash.

"You can send all the fire in hell if you want - it will not be enough!" - Greta roars in her face, swinging again and again.

Longsword Ghost Touch +1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Damage if it hits: 2d8 + 11 ⇒ (2, 7) + 11 = 20

------------

Helgash's Life Link heals her for another 5 hp, and he takes 5 also for a total of 28 this round.

The paladin falls back next to Venja, and channels his healing powers.

P:14. It will affect all except the witchfire I believe.

Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12

EVERYONE heals 12, and Helgash heals 16.

With a spell designed to bypass the witchfire's defenses Duardlara casts forth a barrage of magical missiles. However they all dissipate harmlessly as they can not bypass the magical resistances of the hag.

Fortunately Greta was at the front with the enchanted longsword as she cleaves into the hag once again. The witchfire's face freezes in agony for the briefest of seconds before he body dissolves into the ether from which she was a part of.

The victory is short lived though as the sound of running feet come approaching from the Southeastern passageway. You think that whatever it is will be here in the next 6 seconds.
