Bendalis, Swift-Palm and Abbo:
You see a pair of creatures that look something like This following your party about 300 feet behind you.

sorry for my long quiet guys.. been dealing with everything. After collecting wood for the fires and lighting the birds up, Garekk keeps quietly to the back of the group throughout the rest of the trip. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Obliviously caught up in his own musings.

Knowledge check was in the previous post.

Bendalis moves smoothly, keeping her weapon down and her gaze general, but gestures to the others that they're being followed.

Animals are knowledge (nature) basically the only knowledge you don't have.

Flandrion, having been alerted to the presence of the beasts, readies his longbow and starts moving stealthily towards them.

Draalûsh, realizing the others are worried about something or someone is following them, gets ready to cast a fire ray. And tries again to see if he can perceive what the other already have.

Well, that's a bit better…

"I could tell you what they are, if I can get close enough to touch one. Though, of course, first I should use my scroll of Ray of Enfeeblement and make one of their teeth incapable of tearing a piece of parchment. Of course, I have to be within twenty-five feet for that, too."

Alice sees the things and hisses, with her back arched and her fur bristling. She's dealt with dogs before, but nothing like this.

Male Human Magus (inactive)

"Hmmm. Things with teeth? How many, do you reckon?"

Dark Archive

F Gnome Cleric/1 Wizard/1 (Necromancer)

"I don't know. Besides, they're too far away for my spells and hexes to reach. Even too far for my bow."

Which Hailey will load just in case.

While the party pauses to debate the creatures advance. They are now 200 feet from you and about 30 ft apart from each other.

Not too far for my bow, however.

200' is one full increment, so -2.

1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 2 = 21

Bendalis lazily fires an arrow in the direction of the beasts, and smiles as it flies through the air.

I think you'll need to flush them, or we'll be at this all day off and on. Silly beasts seem to think the horses are for eating. If you can scare them out, I can put down at least one of them and we can go back to our idyllic travels through this scenic land.

You can't see them right now, but know roughly where they are. Essentially there is an area of dead ground that you can't see.

Flandrion resumes moving stealthily towards the animals. He's going to try to position himself such that he will have a clear shot at their flank and they will have to come out in the open to charge him. He would be trying for a range of around 70 to 100 feet if he can, but will.close to 30 feet if he has to.

Draalûsh will ready his sling for when either of those animals get within range (50 feet).

The Bendalis' arrow catches the first of the animals in the flank as it breaks cover leaving it bleeding on the ground. The other advances swiftly and reaches base contact with him.

Male Human Magus (inactive)

Draalûsh will move towards Bendalis, ready to cast a Fire Ray.

Welp, now I'm confused. Leaving this here as her next action pending clarification. If she can 5' step back, do so and fire the bow. If she cannot, drop bow, try to flank if it won't provoke, swing sword. Also this may be moot by the time the rest of the party goes.

Attack with sword 18-20/x2:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5+2 to attack if there's a flank

Attack with bow 20/x3:

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 crit damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 5) + 4 = 13
If within 30', +1 to attack/damage. +2 additional damage (3 total bonus) on a crit.

Bendalis smiles as the shot sinks home, then startles as the second beast rushes forward before falling into an easy rhythm.

I'll try to draw it's attention, you should have an opening at it's flanks.

"Finally! Now you will all feel my power!" she cries out with a wicked cackle.

When Hailey is within 30 feet of at least one of the creatures, she will hex it with her channelling of negative energy, naturally making use of her Selective Channel feat so that it will bypass her party members.

Her party members may feel the power of her hex, but not the sting, meaning (merely as flavor) that they can feel the energy passing the borders of their flesh but she is not allowing it to harm them.

Spoke too soon. Ignore Hailey's last post then. She's still not yet hexed anyone.

"Components and anatomy lessons. First I research, then we have fun."

She gives Bendalis a gleeful grin.

She will first use her power of Lore Keeper from the Knowledge Domain to touch one of these things. This reveals to her its abilities and weaknesses, and information as if she had made the correct knowledge check with a result of 15 + 1 (for cleric level) + 3 for Wisdom mod.) In English, a result of 19 from the touch.

Then, after she's used her touch to learn what these things are and explain it to the party, she'll join the scalpelly fun.

Seeing as the situation has been resolved, Swift-Palm picks up his pack of things and shoulders them once more. He scans the horizon as the party talks of dissecting the best.

"Ugh, hoe deplorable, poor little beats. Even if they had to attack us, they do not deserve such a gruesome ending."
