Yeah, I kept trying yesterday in the morning and evening but Paizo was MIA. On a more positive note, my beloved Packers rocked and Rogue One was really enjoyable - if a little sad.

Mojo lines up the gargoyle attacking Myrick and attempts to stab it through the stone kidneys. His magical dagger hopefully does some damage.

Agreed! Mistakes and misunderstandings happen. And they happen more easily in pbp than in live games. Things like this can easliy be resolved

THUUMMPP....Sorek is grimly satisfied watching one half of Lom's attackers plummet to the ground. "Nice shot Lom. Glad to see your fingers can still waggle after that fall. Let's finish off the other one."

Aggy, if you note with each series of attacks I rolled a CMB check which in this case was a 23 and that was enough to get you grappled. As for the second question, I have to make a RAI ruling here knowing author intent. They have a modified form of improved grapple where they can gran on to you, but you do not take the penalty so I am also going to say you hit. This is in lieu of a long email exchange with Skeeter whom I am certain would verify this. Bill Webb has never played Pathfinder and only plays OD&D so this is a conversion error. I will post their tactics here below.

Tactics: The gargoyles animate and attack, attempting to grapple
victims. Once held, the gargoyle attempts to fly off with the victim. One gargoyle can lift a grappled opponent weighing 150 pounds or less. Two gargoyles working together can lift a held opponent weighing up to 300 pounds.

Mojo dodges away from the gargoyles around him to gain a flank with Myrick again. The goblin then slashes at the stone tendons of another.
